I got my hands on some dust from a golden Epic so a quick question: Cabalist's Tome or Gorehowl? Both are great cards, but I'm leaning towards CT cause I think I will be playing Mage more in the coming days. CT seems more versatile because it fits into any Mage deck. Gorehowl also looks like a good bet though. Those two cards are probably the last of the staple Epics I'm lacking. Or should I save dust for the next Legendary?

Cabalist Tome I love that card. It is really versatile as you say, but would I craft it? Or would I'd rather craft Gorehowl?

I guess the decision lies with the fact that you want to play more mage. Go with CT Gorehowl can wait - it is not like Control Warrior is going anywhere...

Thanks, I crafted the C-Tome. I figured if I ever get one in a pack it's one of those Epics that you can even run two of in a deck. And the card basically fits into any Mage deck so it's a good investment. Gorehowl fits into Control and maybe some Pirate style deck, but aside from Taunt Warrior I don't play the class that much nowadays... alas I'll craft it eventualy

Thoughts on the Menagerie:

My favorite highlight was the game against the Curator. Not because of difficulty, because he was very easy. But he was fun, he sounded like Baymax from Big Hero 6 and he just had some fun lines.

To be honest I one shotted all the bosses except Illhoof - I went with a stupid slow deck. But an easy, but very funny wing.

My first match with the new Beast/Curator Druid deck against Secret Hunter.

And what do you know, The Dream:
Turn 1 Raven (+Finley with Coin, choose Priest Hero Power which ultimately won me the game )
Turn 2 Mark of Y. Hunters having trouble, I control the board.
Blah, blah turn 5 Tiger, Turn 6 Warden on Tiger.
My only drawback in this match was that I didn't draw the Curator himself

It was still a close match (Hunter player had really good tempo), but very satisfying. This deck might really be the new cancer...

I am watching Trump try out his version of the Beasts druid. My thoughts on beast druid is that it works like many hunter decks. You have solid drops for each turn and then you are basically unstoppable.

The curator version I have yet to see, but it would be awesome if Curator would become a thing. It would make for some great decks that are not that similar.

I have completed the new wing on HC. Illhoof was troublesome again, mainly because of bad mulligans. I tried out a discard warlock, funny and a positive experience, but just a different version of zoo.

Here is the Curator Druid I'm currently using. I picked this one cause it literally was a copy of a deck I theorycrafted beforehand (with some slight changes). For one I'm trying 1x Chromaggus instead of 1x Azure cause he curves nicely with Curator.

It's a solid deck but I think it lacks a finisher somewhat. You're spot on with the Hunter comparison emil, and Hunter either has CotW or even King Krush which has proven to be really good in my Secret H deck. So the strategy now is to overwhelm your opponent with board (Tiger + Warden shines here). I don't think Savage Roar will work here though...

EDIT: Oh great, today I've met an Arcane Giant OTK Warrior. As if Patron/Worgen OTK cancer wasn't enough...

I think I will give the deck a try. I saw Trump playing his new Beast druid and it was insane. I have yet to see his Curator version if it.

Arcane Golem is indeed the new cancer. He is so easy to get into play, and the warrior combo is pretty good.

EDIT: Got a second Mukla today, and now I can afford a new legendary

Do you have a pick? I'm curious...

Yay, got enough gold for the last wing of ONiK, I can go back to getting packs

PS: After playing some more with Curator Druid I must say this deck is a Beast ;P

I have a hard time deciding really.. The meta is shifting a little and I really want dragon paladin to be a thing, and I lack the big dragons..

The beast druids are scaring me. The whole menagerie thing is scaring me.. There are some bad *** combos out there

Want my opinion? Dragon Paladin will always be a fun deck. Trust me. It never was top tier, maybe it will be someday who knows, but it's the only deck I've never got bored of (it's probably a deck I've kept the longest btw). And the most fun thing about it is that you can tweak around it so much. It's probably the most adaptive deck I have, you basically can throw a few new cards in and out, but if you keep the core, massive Dragons + Consort that is, there's a lot of room for experimenting. I've already put so many cards in and out and I really enjoy it from a deckbuilding perspective. Lately I'm working on early game, which always was a problem, and healing. Forbidden Healing works great, and Ivory Knight works surprisingly well. When it comes to early game I've added Nightbane Templar, it fits in nicely against aggro. I'm also playing Light in the Darkness, it works for early game to pull of that cheap minion (and because of the stat boost it can make even a weak minion useful), so I think that this new card from the final wing that discovers a Dragon will work even better. Keep in mind that I'm playing it in Wild though, this type of deck might struggle in Standard.

Additionally if you like some feedback on Dragons, especially Legendaries, I've got them all so...

I remember I played dragon-paladin before Old gods came out, even without many of the major dragons and it is fun

And I suppose that when this weeks wing hits us we have some new great puzzle pieces to play with. I understand that it is a great wild deck, which I dont have any of.

But I should just start from an end and craft Ysera and Alex. I guess I can live without Deathwing for a few weeks.

Then it's a no-brainer then: craft Ysera. I don't use her in my Dragon-Pala deck cause she does not fit there thematically (the theme is that I'm keeping the whole Deathwing family: D, Nef and Onyxia), but she's plenty useful in other decks. Recently she works nicely with Barnes, for instance in Ressurect Priest.

I can't remember when I last used Alex. If your not playing either Freeze Mage, Renolock or Control W she's pretty much useless atm. Of course I'm not saying she's bad, but rather that she's struggling to find her place in the meta atm. It's worth to wait though, some people are predicting that Freeze Mage will make a comeback with the new Secret-oriented cards...

I think that nowadays Onyxia, although niche, is worth considering: I've seen her in some flood decks recently.

Deathwing still holds that shock effect, though he's easy to remove afterwards And I won't suggest crafting Dragonlord cause he only works in decks full of high mana cost Dragons

EDIT: Nice, got Sword of Justice from todays Brawl. A solid card which I even considered crafting at some point, but the gist of it is that I have almost every Epic from Classic set (I'm lacking 4 atm if I recall) so what are the odds of not getting a double

PS: Played SoJ and Stand Against Darkness next turn. Lol, the longest combo I've ever seen probably (aside from Yogg?)

I will consider Ysera. I am being a little patience with this next legendary.

Sword of justice is one of those I still need as well. An amazing card really.

What is up with this adventure?! This thing was the easiest to be honest.

Overall this adventure have been too easy, but the humour was on point and I loved it. The cards are great and I think the next month or two will be quite fun. I would rate the adventures like this

1. Naxx
2. LoE
3. BrM & Karazhan (can't decide)

In comparison to you @emil I have absolutely no idea what to craft next. The cards I would potentially want to craft are cards like Gorehowl which I might still get in a pack. A strange feeling really, I always had that 'want it' card, but now... guess I'll simply save dust for the next expansion. There's Neptulon which I always found fun, but unfortunately it's a type of a niche card that I might quickly loose interest in after playing it for some time.

My opinion on the adventure? I'm yet to complete the final wing on Heroic, but from my point of view it was your standard adventure with couple of fun ideas (Chess boss, Prolouge mission), but also generic ones. Was it easy? I think that at this point every adventure is 'easy', cause I have almost every competetive tier card so it's easy to make a tailored-made deck. I also have more expierience in the game overall, so AI does not pose a threat aside from topdecking. Interesting thing is that I've used a netdeck on only two Heroic Bosses (cause sometimes you have to exploit some mechanics, and I'm not talking about Abominations), I've beaten the rest with my normal decks, I didn't even tweak them

Cards are hit and miss like always, but this adventure further advances my opinion that adventures are a better way to enjoy the game. You recieve all the cards from start so you can experiment from the get go. They always bring some new deck ideas, tweak others and overall give you full and enjoyable package without the need of waiting, making hard choices and crafting those new must-have/meta defining tier 1 cards like in the case of expansions. And you can always rest from the meta-game saltiness by playing with AI. Even if AI cheats it's not that irritating like when loosing with a RNG-blessed player...

I think that I'll also give an opinion on my fav cards from the set at some point, but gotta play them some more (I'm waiting for Discard Warlock, I have some ideas for the deck).

To be honest, there is no shame in crafting epics. They are (sometimes) just as great as Legendaries. I say craft Gorehowl and start saving dust for next expansion - Oh, I have Neptulon, and he is fun.. oh so fun, but his overload is too great and his impact too little. He is horrible for the current meta.

You make some great points. 90 % of players now have such a huge collection that they can out-play the AI easily, so on that point you are right. Then maybe Blizzard should look at the HC difficulty, because I one-shotted Shade of Aran and Netherspite, and had to try "Rescue" three times.. I could use a little more challenge.
But again! Experience and the size of ones collection does matter.

I have no favorites yet as well. But I feel that the impact of an adventure is much greater then an expansion.

C'mon Emil, where did I say I don't wanna craft Epics I don't need Gorehowl cause I don't play Warrior nowadays. If I'll get it from a pack that's fine, if I need it I'll craft it. I crafted Tome, cause it's playable in any Mage deck... besides recently I've simply 'run out' of Epic ideas.

Hmm, did you try him with Overload negating cards like Lava Shock or Sentinel? Maybe he would work then. I've also thought about crafting Aviana, maybe I'll try that heavy Ramp Druid. Hmm, I wonder if anyone thought of using her with Barnes? The pros of crafting Neptulon or Aviana is that I won't get them any other way cause I don't buy packs from their expansions nor do I play Arena...

Hmm, this would probably take away some fun with deck building, but maybe they should try pre-maid decks like in the case with the Chess mission?

On another note I think the devs should try introducing some new mechanic. They give various interesting abilities to some cards, but I think they're already running thin on ideas. Some new keyword would be nice.

PS: Oh and Emil, got this nice idea from Hearthpwn. As a Hunter player try Medivh followed by Call of the Wild combo

Sorry for putting words in your mouth

I have not tried Neptulon for quite some time and at least not since Old gods was released, so he might work a little better now. The Aviana + Barnes combo sounds pretty wicked.

New keywords are very welcome. I agree with you on that. I also am a fan of them reusing old ones - I know they say inspire does not work, and it is one of the inferior ones, but come on, do 1-3 pr. expansion . The discover mechanic have to continue it is just great and a good way of using RNG.

The Medivh + CoW combo I have actually thought of myself. My only concern is whether or not it is too slow. But it is going to be fun to play with.

I didn't think of using Medivh in a Hunter deck cause the class didn't hit me as being compatible with him (a lot of cheap spells). But yeah CotW is a perfect match

I'm trying to figure out where I can use him still. Here's a rundown of spells that might get the most of him (from Hearthpwn):

"Paladin: Lay on Hands / Anyfin Can Happen / Enter the Coliseum.
Hunter: Call of the Wild.
Warlock: Twisting Nether / DOOM! / Siphon Soul.
Rogue: Sprint.
Priest: Entomb / Mind Control / Excavated Evil / Holy Nova.
Warrior: Brawl. Now always something on your board after playing the spell.
Druid: Nourish, Moonglade Portal. Here you heal for 6 and get 2 x 6 mana minion if Atiesh is equipped. Starfire - deal 5 damage, draw a card, summon 6 mana minion."

So aside from Mage, Paladin/Priest/Druid look viable. I don't see using him in Paladin cause I don't run these spells in any deck. I'll try him in Priest, and Druid seems legit (maybe Yogg Druid?).

The druid run down was really nice. The moonglade portal combo is awesome. I hope it works.
On paper it really combos well with Yogg, and it is going to be fun to see if it works in reality.

But what about prince malchazar will he ever see play?

EDIT: Just tried the Medivh + CoW - I got a Fossilized Devilsaur. Pretty good value on the board, sadly I hadn't been on curve so I lost to a Flameportal ..
