This way it got fixed first time I downloaded HotA

Jup jup, run as administrator .
If that not works make sure your folder is in (x64) program files folder or public folder.... (if your not administrator)

Where did you changed the creatures hex size (like green dragon 2-hexes, pikeman 1 hex, etc) in the exe?

Or how can i find it easily?

Ehm? The new system actually allows you to click one button and be sure, that the spell will NOT be available on the map. If you need to ban the spell everywhere, except for few specific places, well, then you provide that specific spell in those specific places and everywhere else it is banned by single tick. And if you need to have the spell banned, then to give it and then to take it back... Well, it is logical, that it takes a little more work.

However, to make it a bit simpler an interesting idea would be to provide a possibility to require specific scrolls for seers and quest guards. But can't say if it ever will be implemented

In the map that I'll release soon, I wanted to remove Dimension Door and Fly, because the PC, and other factions always use this. I did only put it though the Torme, and allowed it to be only for my heroes.
I did banished it though xD

Well no, this decision is clearly for MP purpose, one click, remove all undesirable spells. But for single player scenarios complexity, this will ask for a considerable additional work as there is no way atm to remove scrolls or spells via seer huts. Why not keep your system for HoTA format, as when you generate a map, it is automatically Hota, and let the old SoD maps be played under the old rules?

I am just saying that the actual setup makes  a lot of SoD custom maps unplayable. But if you are aware and have no problem with that, that's fine, but a warning should be put in HoTA settings, so people don't lose their time trying the new expansion with the old maps.

I've been reading some outdated topics about hota, and noticed that there was some plans on adding more spells to the game.

Does those kind of plans still exist? If, any idea what the new spells would be? Are there plans on making fire magic more on par with other schools?

Also, would it be too much asked if you could edit the first post to make some kind of FAQ to tell all readers what's the state of new towns, what are the team's main focus points on the project now, what can be expect from future patches.. etc? I'm sure there will be a lot of newcomers coming to this forum to read about this great project, as there's still not that much info in the net in English and this thread is 130+ pages long.

I would really appreciate that, but I also understand that it's something that you may have already considered and decide not to add it.

Still, big thanks to you for answering my questions in previous pages, it's really great to get first hand information!

One more question on this subject.
A map is a long work, I think it will spend me 3 or 4 month to make a good XL map. At this time we have got Hota 1.3.8.
What happened if a new Hota version comes before I  finish my map. Could I install it without create some troubles ?
If I install the last version could I use the functionalities of the new version or need I to create a new map from zero to use it ?

Ps : I am not sure to be totaly understundable. Sorry for my bad English once again

No man, looks like you have a hard time to understand what I write

I say that most changes in HoTA are clearly profitable to MP on random generated maps, but one of those changes make a lot of SoD custom (fixed) maps unplayable. And when I say unplayable I don't mean like transition from AB to SoD-combos are suddenly available and change game parameters, but that spells needed for map completion now are removed from tomes.

As there is no track of this important change, I suggest to warn about in your HoTA log list, as I couldn't find any notice about.

Hello everyone!

I'd like to show you four new type of seer's huts, what I created myself. Actually, I transformed them from Heroes 4, but I think they fit in the H3 world fine.

I can't do professional graphic work like you HotA team, but with little modifications, they can be turned more h3 type.

All 4 building has native terrain, 1st for Underground, 2nd for Rough, 3rd for Desert, 4 for Snow. 1st and 4th are animated too.

I still don't get what does the tick in map editor has to do with MP on RMG (except for some similarity in origins). And yes, we understand that some SoD maps become unplayable in HotA. Due to Fly/DD fix, due to more flexible spell ban system and probably due to many other things. We plan on introducing special conditions on old SoD maps, but first we must understand the full list of features, that mess those up.

This change is highlighted in full documentation. Though probably it should be in the short one as well

I don't know what are you guys talking about. I never played WoG. And as I said before I transformed those objects from Heroes 4.
But it seems I wasn't the first with that idea!

if you guys still have it available(it doesn't look like you guys are going to use it) and are interested, i have a trade in mind. 5 sea barrels(that i just completed making) for that chest:



they're animated, of course. i wouldn't offer something substandard for trade.

Hi!

I just downloaded the HOTA on my macbook, and I am able to launch the game through an application called "Wine". The game then launches and proceeds like a normal HOMM3 game, but I experience quite a lot of lag (to the point where I´ts not fun to play it). As well, the right click doesn´t work. When I right click on anything (which is a pretty important part in HOMM), the picture doesn´t show - it just kinda slightly turns on and off really quick (like a TV struggling to get signal). So I can´t really see any information when right clicking.

Has anyone got a solution to this?
I am quite a computer rookie, so if you could give me the detailed steps I would appreciate it a lot!

Hello Nik

I noticed that in HotA the Tomes and Spellbinder's Hat allows you to learn 3-5 level spells without Wisdom. I realise it has always been like this, but do you intend to keep it this way? To me it diminishes Wisdom a little when you don't even need it, if you can get the tomes and/or Spellbinder's Hat...
(Another idea would be to get rid of Wisdom completely and allow all heroes to learn all spells, without Wisdom)
