Guys, what do you think who is going to be level 7 creature? My bet goes for Dragon Golem.

There are reasons to assume it: supposedly all the non-revealed units are non-human, mecha-dragons fit both the aesthetic and did already appear in one game (plus weren't there some hints from the HotA team even? I could be wrong here though). And it would be simply cool. But we can very well get something like steam tanks (it wouldn't be so bad if those had some dragon-like ornaments) or Armor/Golem Giants.

But we have to be patient and wait for the reveal. I would like to ask "a question" to HotA team about this, but they won't answer, not yet at least...

but I do agree a human as a level 6 unit is a little much. Halberdiers are level 1, Marksmen level 2, Crusaders level 4, Zealots level 5, Champions in full plate armor on a war horse are level 6. And a cowboy with a rifle is also a level 6? It better be some damn powerful rifle if he wish to compete with Champions, Naga Queens, Dread Knights etc.

I personally think tier 6 for Bounty Hunter is just fine. It's about balance and making a unit / town interesting. We already have two towns with level-5 shooters (Monk, Lich) while only one with level-6 (Cyclop). I'm glad that the HotA team went for this option instead of making another town with level-5 shooter.

It's not about what a unit is or what it looks like. As has been pointed before, numbers are just numbers and you can easily make them what you need. Monk, level 5, has less than half HPs of Gorgons which are also tier 5 - so I can easily imagine Bounty Hunters to have, say, only 50-60 HPs (just an example!) but being strong attackers instead.

And why a human cannot be tier 6? If monk - no shields, no hard skin etc. - can be tier 5, if Magic Elemental - of humanoidal posture, same as humans - can be tier 6, then Bounty Hunters imho can be level 6. It's not about HPs, it's about unit general strength.

It's important to make a town interesting and unique, offering different gameplay from others. That's why I really, really like the shooter line-up so far. Factory will be the only town to have a tier-1 non-upgraded shooter (a feature which has always been there in Heroes, since HoMM 1, and for strange reasons has been absent in HoMM 3 until now) which is powerful, especially that level-1 is the only creature building guaranteed to be in a town at day 1 when playing regular scenarios. And then you get no more shooters for long, not until tier 6 which means that you will probably have to rely on Halflings for long time. This can be interesting, indeed, and I'm eager to try it out.

About the Mechanic - to me, the current look is very good. I like how it refers to the original Forge concept and I would be glad if it stayed this way. In general, I like how there are many, subtle references to Forge - like the Mechanic apperance (flamethrower), tier-1 non-upgarded unit (same as Forge), or the Factory's forge shape (three chimneys, toothed entrance door - same as in Forge's forge). Also, in this graphic, building P looks like the Forge's tank generator - is this just accidentally? I hope not, and I hope this buidling will produce some interesting unit. Similarly with Serpents' generator - which, to me, with its two vertical columns in front, looks a little like the supposed Jump Trooper / Dreadnought building - I may be incorrect here though and this may be just a coincidence.

Yeah I guess you are right, we already have some level 5 shooters, but only few level 6, so it's fine I guess. It should be weak on defense and strong on offense for it to make any sense though.

I've looked this up some time ago: currently the only tier 6 shooters in the game are Enchanters and Cyclops.

I hope for something else. Even if it is a golem, there are enough dragons already.

Maybe it's a Steam Tank . Short range of fire, does an area blast like a Fireball. Two hexes in size.

I see well the dragon posted above added to the original neutral dragons blue dragon, crystal dragon, fairy dragon, rust dragon

giving it perhaps a name of the genus steam dragon, west dragon or iron dragon

No, HotA is not compatible with the Steam HD remake. You have to get the Complete Edition or SoD. You can find the Complete Edition on GoG for a low price.

No matter what folder I save the game to it still says the files are missing and it's impossible.

Bummer, I was looking forward to this so much. One of my top 5 games of all time.

If you're willing to play so much, and have played in the past, I would still take a second look in GOG version of the game.(currently 9,99) It comes with the base game + both of the expansions. With Steam's HD version, you're completely left out with both expansions - most notably Conflux town and random map generator, which ensures that you're never left out with fresh maps.

Then, Hota adds even more content, which you may read more about the first post in this thread. Also note, that the Hota is still being updated, and the next town is scheluded to be released at the end of this year.

Then, I recommend installing HD mod as well, which comes with a bunch of quality of life changes and makes the game run in HD. Hota and HD mod are 100% compatible.

If this is one of your top 5 games of all time, you should give it a try.

Ohh yeah, I got the GOG version! The installer defaults to a folder that doesn't exist on my computer. SO I created the folder, and it still won't work. Moved it around to a bunch of different folders, but still no luck. I wonder if it's because I'm using Shadow... I dont' see why that would matter, but who knows.

So you got both steam HD version and the GoG version as well? Just double checking, since you first asked about Steam HD version, which  isn't compatible with Hota at all, no matter what you do.

If the installer defaults to a wrong folder, try to find out where your Homm3 is actually been installed - creating (empty) folders will not solve your problem. In my case, the pathing looks something like this: My computer -> C: -> Games -> Heroes Complete

I didn't end up getting the steam version because it wasn't compatible.

So, the default folder didn't exist, so I created a folder and put the game in that folder. So the folder wasn't empty, but it Still wouldn't work.

Thank you so much for your patience! Been coming back to this game very couple years for 20 years, and would love an updated experience.
