@Gruk I tried to ask this in the Editing the Map Generator thread but in the help it said to report it here, so here it goes...

I think the option to "allow non-coherent roads" is irreversible.
I tried to use it because at a certain point I had the template with a giant area in the underground without any towns and while the maps were created perfectly, the AI was never going there and I thought it could be due to the absence of towns and tried a work around... After I reduced the number of towns in other areas to allow the creation of some there, I reverted it and I noticed it now creates zones on the ground without any connections.
Seeing those were treasure areas, I changed the monsters in all treasure areas to different types and I'm now pretty sure they are an expansion of the one in the underground (that is basically the entire underground except for a player's area) but nothing I tried seams to solve the problem. Any tip?

At a certain point I was trying to force the creation of level 7 dwellings in town areas and I inadvertently selected one area where the "Dwellings/rewards only neutral" was selected, it covered the area with more Magic Forests then the total of dwellings it would be allowed in SoD. Frozen Peaks, Crystal Caverns and Sulfurous Lairs aren't considered level 7 dwellings? Cause I had disabled the creation of Magic Forests and Crystal Caverns for the entire template but until I discovered what was the problem those were the only ones that were over spawning and I had no limit rule for the creation of Crystal Caverns either.

As far as I remember 1.6.1 is supposed to come out hopefully in january or february and is mostly supposed to fix the crashes after 1.6, is this correct?

Then there will be a 1.7 which will not contain Factory, but what will it contain then? and when?

Are you planning on changing other skills (or heroes) in the near future?

Since this version came out I had precisely two crashes, one in the Template Editor that screwed me a template (thanks non-existent god, cause this one is much better. I mean, if can solve the previously reported problem) and one in the game, yesterday. Am I that lucky? Or is it that some guy is mixing with the executable too much?

Since the update I had 500+ crashes, but my map also contains lots of water and I heard there is an issue with water right now.
Looking forward to 1.6.1 and hopefully a lot less crashes.

As far as I know, Docent said releasing 1.6.1. was very likely to be released this month, and it's there mostly to fix the crashes caused by 1.6.

But where did you got the information about factory not being part of the 1.7 release? I was in the assumption that the 1.7 is the Factory patch. I know Hota team likes to be somewhat overoptimistic sometimes, but the way it has been presented to us, I'm in the impression that the release of Factory isn't that delayed.

@Gruk How about you create an official thread for the RMG Editor alone? I came here everyday and when I became an expert (I will), I promise to answer some of the basic questions saving you some time.

On another matter, I'm having a problem with the Zone Placement in my template. If it placed the areas as I have them in the template, the connections could be done with roads alone but I don't see from where to start. If I make the central area the top one, all the map is free and computer can choose to place it in a corner, so some of the players areas won't be able to connect directly. If I do as I'm doing right now, some of them can occupy the central place.
Could you take a look?

Well, I'm not a translating expert or anything, but it seems that if you translate it with google (into English) it clearly goes somewhat off. However, it seems that Tevye actually translated the bit for us, when he announced the 1.6. This is from page 379:

it's just my prediction but I think in version 2.0 there will be the twelfth city

I agree. And this was their original plan, remember nik talking about it back in the day. The 2.0 is somewhat close already, so eventually they will have to call something 2.0 anyway, so why not make it a memorable moment like releasing a second town? This is true even if they would release yet another town relatively fast after they've finished with Factory.

@Gruk Sorry, I've put my brain to work for once and realized that what I see as a graphic tool is just translating everything to the classic txt document and certain changes can in fact be undone but certainly not  with the tool.
So, instead of wasting my time and yours, I remade the template from scratch and in a few hours (less then I lost trying to undo the deed) I had everything working smoothly.

I have published my PHP Heroes 3 map reader recently

And I found out HOTA map format evolved a bit in all those years.
I don't really want to study changes from hex format so I want to ask devs kindly to please PM and if you could help me with HOTA map format and its changes and versions.

I don't remember doing that.

However, it seems that I created a HD exe with the Russian language selected. I don't know how I managed that, but I created a new one with English and it's ok now.
