I am just saying what most of us are thinking, but apparently being honest is not good.
Rather pretend everything is flowers and sunshine, stay silent, wait some more years and hope we are still alive by then, right...
Maybe even hope for an official HotA post once every blue moon.
HotA made good and bad decisions:
Examples of good decisions:
Adding Cove. (even though some of it's units are a bit OP.)
Most heroes, artifacts and map objects.
Balancing Conflux and Necropolis.
Introducing negative luck.
Adding Highlands and Wasteland.
Heroes now start with all 3 stacks in starting armies.
Refuseable Witch Huts and Scholars.
Nerfing Armageddon. (but not enough.)
Banning Sir Mullich, boring and OP hero.
Making external dwellings grow each week.
Bugfixing.
Examples of bad decisions:
Not changing the 5 worst skills and TP is a bad decision, it's not too late to finally make it happen though.
Some heroes, artifacts and map objects.
Replacing Resistance and Thorgrim.
Not doing something about Disguise and other useless spells.
Changing building costs and certain build orders in towns. (Cyclop building is okay to change if 10 Crystals are moved from Cyclops Cave to Upg. Cyclops Cave.)
Overbuffing Estates and overnerfing Logistics. (Logistics was never a problem, but Logistics specialists were.)
Nerfing Intelligence, but forgetting about Mana Vortex, Wizard's Well and Magic Springs.
Non-linear secondary skill progression.
Downgrading Uland and Deemer's advanced skills.
Buffing Protection From X spells. (it made Armageddon spam even easier.)
Not fixing Orb of Vulnerability, it could at least work the same for both players.
Failing to see that Dimension Door in Fire Magic, 1 cast per day, makes for a much more fun and balanced game.
AI still can't build all buildings. (or cast all spells.)
Ballista, cannon and arrow towers still shoot at blinded targets.
No Market of Time.
No possibility of having more than 8 skills. (I think 10 would be perfect.)
Questionable decisions:
Introducing the cannon. I guess it's cool and fitting for Cove, but it introduces new problems and made ballista specialists obsolete.
Spell research, like Cannon I guess it's cool, but it's OP and only serves to buff Tower and nerf Stronghold and Fortress. Without it Animate Dead can sometimes become impossible to learn though.

So much text yet it's the same talking points again and again and again.
It's a non-commercial project which they work on for free. The audacity in constantly complaining about your perceived flaws of it is beyond me.

You can call phoenix stubborn or maybe unteachable but in my opinion he just says what a part of the community thinks/wants. You can't deny it. Whilst others come here and make their desperate suggestion in hope anything changes and then disappear forever he repeatedly brings up the weak points of HotA.

You have this super weird mindset that you are somehow entitled to receive these free content updates almost spoon-fed to you. These are people working on a passion project for a game they love, not monkeys churning out a game that you pay for. HotA has never been better than it is today, and if it eventually gets even better, that sounds pretty great to me.
All the time you have spent here daily complaining about the things you don't like, and on other modding topics asking people "how do I do this" and "how can I change that", you could have just made the changes you want yourself and be content. There comes a point when you are no longer doing it because you want to provide feedback and criticism, and instead just want to cause arguments and annoy people.

You're missing the point here.
He bringing up same conversations with same poor arguments isn't a "community effort", but rather lack of basic, general understanding that Hota is still just a mod made by people who haven't got a cent of their work. It's like if someone made you a house for free, would you still complain that they didn't build garage and garden as well? Most of the stuff he just wrote there isn't making much sense either: "I'm giving you a middle finger for not making my ballista to not shoot blinded stacks!" Like seriously, what? And in general, spitting on someone's grave isn't exactly an intellectual move.
To my knowledge, Phoenix doesn't even actually like Hota that much, it's just a platform for him to develop more. IMO in general there might be nothing wrong for continuing development of some certain things, but as Hota is meant for larger audience, being toxic towards them for not making things exactly as he wants it isn't very cool.

Those were examples, not how I expect things to be 100%.
Who is spitting on anyones grave? I have a lot of respect for DC, but what does he even have to do with this now and why do people keep bringing him up?
If noone ever critiques HotA, how can they ever move forward?
I just want HotA to become better, hence my annoying honesty.
Being a non-commercial project does'nt really mean anything either. I would love to pay for HotA, as I'm sure a lot of people would, but HotA Crew have denied this themselves several times.
It would'nt hurt if HotA Crew actually posted something, anything, once in a while either.
Let the fans know what is going on or if nothing is going on. Just throw us a bone once in a while.

I'm not sure if you actually understand what someone's death in a project like this means.
Let's just say that maybe you should wait for the Factory at first, and if it actually comes out, then it might be better time for conversations like this.

Can someone please link the post where it states HoTA is meant to revolve around multiplayer. And while you’re at it, please link the several poll posts that reflect this supposed community outcry of things like “useless skills”.
There’s so many factors into what makes something more or less useful in the game. There’s situational skills and spells that can mess you up. Randomness is part of the experience. If that is something that ruins the game for you, then try heroes 6 or 7 where you can pick your skills and spells

behavior like this after the project LEADER'S death is not only abhorrent, but stupid as well. if it were me, i wouldn't release anything, if it meant people like you would get it. you need to make yourself scarce and hope the HOTA team is more lenient than i. because of posts like yours AFTER the fact, you could very well be stopping a release altogether. and it would/could be YOUR fault. you need to seriously consider how your behavior is absolutely counterproductive to any DESIRE to share ANYTHING with this community at this point. or maybe you'll get lucky, and they'll ignore you, as if you were a flea. or you'll get lucky, and maybe Docent would have wanted the content released, and they respect his wishes. either way, you'd be LUCKY.
it's no skin off my teeth either way, if they release anything or not, at this point. human death is more PERTINENT, don't you think? have some decency, and stop acting like a snotty little child. the world is more expansive, than only your petty and rude desires. consider MORE than just yourself.

They do sometimes. Last time when they had a rather extensive explanation as to why their work isn't progressing as fast as some may expect (demand even) you completely misunderstood the post and thought that the only thing hindering them from a release was working on the campaign which you find meaningless, when there were actually heaps of other things they said they had to deal with first.

But he was here! He never gave answer than right question when Factory comes, he will gives answer.
Phoenix also doesn't listen the world player thinks TP doesn't change. HC is handicap place.
First Aid, etc can fix, but no balance, example of Settlers Roman is always fast to get a golden helmet. Another sports car game has different speed. Why? All heroes play stone skin, shield, slow, etc just the same like sports cars drive the same speed, power, etc The last what? No balance but the best heart by drives to goal. No interesting! They are beware for balance. Monopoly never said this poor. Skill or what are the same.
I'm sorry I know signs, but no Finnish could translate English.
But don't talk bad to Phoenix.

Besides whatever you do, you will always find someone who disagrees with you, if you can't accept that, you are probably the one that needs to grow thicker skin.

They are mostly good arguments however. Nothing is "objective fact" in preference in game design, but destroying Resistance (a good and balanced skill) while keeping eagle eye specialists is something no serious modder considers good design.

The problem is, that your timing of coming out with this (last six months, now, or possible in the future as well) isn't making much sense, if you're looking for changes. The way that I see it, is that Factory might very well be the last thing this team will push out. Or, even worse, the time of releasing the Factory will keep pushing to the "maybe next year" and well, then, you know what will eventually happen.

It's not something new, I (and many others) have been asking for changes to the worst skills, ever since I joined HC back in 2015.
But still nothing has happened, what is their reason for these skills taking more than they are giving? What about all the heroes that start with or even specialise in those terrible skills? Does the crew not have any idea how to improve them? Or do they just want these particular skills to still suck?
But instead of changing skills that needed it, they changed skills that did'nt need it, like Resistance, Estates and Logistics...
