yeah it does seem a bit overreach but considering there is two portal steps its dubious its for testing, if you want to test op hero why not just place hero? We don't know which guards were meant to be before the missing portal. It can be a grail-like feature to prevent indefinite stalemates by giving a player a decisive advantage

Yes, at some point I said that I don’t want to write any more updates before the release, but it looks like I fell into the same trap that Associate Professor once fell into. In comparison with how the development was organized some 2 years ago, we have taken a very significant step forward. Accurate records of all tasks, even the smallest ones, and progress on them are kept. For the upcoming release, the number of such individual tasks goes into the hundreds. We had an idea to show percentage progress on the total number of these tasks, but in the end, without specifics, this will say little to the waiting players and only give more room for speculation. The execution of any single code task can take a very long time, and 10 graphics tasks of the "fix a pixel" type will take half an hour, so that even the "percentage" of completion available to us will not reflect the real situation.

At the moment, the Factory is playable, all abilities and properties are implemented and preliminary internal testing is underway in the team. The only unfinished elements of the city - Creature Voice and Mystery Map - are literally coming to fruition as I write this post. The creation of maps for the campaign continues with the only difference that now several maps are not only fully drawn, but also tested, almost reaching their final form. But the programmers of the team are faced with a very voluminous task of not only creating something new, but also testing, debugging, finding bugs and fixing them (some kind of small-looking error can easily turn out to be a rabbit hole that requires searching and making changes in large volumes code, which in turn will lead to the need for even more changes and debugging). This is not a quick and very laborious stage with a work horizon that simply cannot be assessed until work on each specific problem has been carried out. The player will not even see all this work in the game, unlike the graphics, so if someone suddenly thinks that if it is not visible, then you can not do it, let him remember that then playing the game in principle will not work.

In addition, version 1.7 will be a kind of "big cleaning" for Hota. Many things in previous versions that have already been implemented by workarounds or through the so-called "crutches" get a new, more correct implementation.
And this applies not only to code, but also to graphics (yes, some "low-quality" content removed from the map editor will return to the game in updated quality. Yes, I'm talking about redwood sets as well). Even the dockside creatures have received new voiceovers. I will not estimate how much content besides the Factory itself and its Campaign will be in the release, but I do not advise expecting something grandiose, the original plan to dedicate 1.7 to the new city remains in force (especially since plans for third-party content are constantly being refined and revised). Absolutely everyone in the team is busy with business,

I also want to note that despite the extremely low activity of team members in the Vkontakte group, I periodically check all the comments both under the old news posts and in discussions like "questions for developers". We are grateful to the active members of the community who respond and help people with some simple problems and difficulties. In addition to the Vkontakte group, I read the Heroescommunity and Acidcave forums. help please: crash upon 111 restart

Hi, im new and looking to play an online multiplayer hota game.
I started a game with someone and the map loaded no worries, but then TWICE out of 2 times, got an error upon the game being 111 restarted. Does anyone have any ideas why im crashing upon the 111 restart?

Hello, as I was searching through a Russian fan forum, I came across a piece of information about the next Hota Update that I don't think has made its way in here: As it seems, the developers are working on an improvement to the often critisized skills "learning" and "eagle eye". As it turns out, they want to reimplement the "resistance" skill, and replace learning with resistance. However, eagle eye will be replaced by a revolutionary new skill, called "gnoll ear", which is said to allow the player to see additional, yet to be specified, information in the thieves guild.

Yeah it was pretty surprising tbh, after telling us so many times that they won't touch the secondary skills for this update. I suggested that name in a poll on the forums, very happy to see it chosen! They are planning to introduce the skill in the campaign story by having Drakon teach it to your heroes. It's a thumbs up for me .

This is already a bit old info thou. The "gnoll ear mechanic" was already introduced in the second to last update of HD mod, but works exclusively on Hota, and only in certain MP focused templates such as JC. Don't you guys read patch notes? Bara doesn't do interface updates, so the skill works through classic Eagle Eye, and on top of the thieves guild interaction, you can reveal the exact amount of each resource pile, treasure box and such by right-clicking the chosen object three consecutive times. New skill icon will be introduced when the factory patch rolls out. The mechanic still remains bugged, and doesn't seem to work very well. I've figured the best way to get around is to snap click three consecutive times as fast as possible.
