Personally I find it surprising how heated can the debates around the voting get, and can’t help but personally involve myself in this mayhem.
Obviously the images have been posted for a reason, which is to show a more or less general idea behind the creatures. The actual Heroes VII designs will be certainly different from the presented ones, since all designs need to be in-line with the game’s general art style.
The few Compendium images seem pretty reliable though, seeing as their very purpose was to act as a source of reference. You can actually compare the Treant, as it was presented in the Compendium: http://www.acidcave.net/tomb/treant.png (thanks to AcidCave and your archives!) with the actual Heroes VII design: https://static14.cdn.ubi.com/mmh7/prod/images/140912_Sylvan_Lineup/H7_Trent_full.jpg
On the other hand images from other games present a different art style, thus there is a tremendous difference between the Blade Dancer archetype and the Blade Dancer hero from MMX: Legacy, as seen here: https://static14.cdn.ubi.com/udev/prod/img/news/20140120/male_bladedancer.jpg
Similarly, the Sun Deer design was actually a critter design for Heroes VI. It wasn’t supposed to be a faction creature, so the design is rather simplistic and straightforward. It doesn’t mean though that the Heroes VII creature will be the same.

And as I said, I'm doubtful we'll see demons. Dungeons is yet another fan favorite race.

Most likely because it is the topic on everyone's mind, and has a countdown till it is completed.
And, as much as I love Inferno, this is probably the case. Even more so, trying to shoehorn-in Inferno among the council seems a little forced. Why would a demon be there? Didn't a demon start all these problems? Why would an Angel (hates Faceless, and demons), a Asha-fanatic (Necromancers are the order to the demonic chaos), and a orc (Don't 99% of orcs HATE demons cause of that "empty cradle" incident?) let a demon in the same room? I am not certain about the Wizard's view point, but they probably hate them, as well as the Elf.
If it was Dungeon, most likely only the Sylvan Elf and the Angel (but she might be against the angelic Elrath church, so maybe she'd be okay with a Faceless/Dark Elf at the table) would not like them. It would fit more, story wise (unless they figure out a great way to implement the demons otherwise.) This saddens me.
