Galaad said: I honestly don't think it is a matter of engine. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but IIRC BH was using their own engine, with their own code, then is obvious is a nightmare for someone stranger to it to work on, especially if in unfinished state. MMH7 uses UE3, which is outdated but a good engine. Things could have obviously be done much better.
I don't think there's that big of a difference. A bad code is bad code. H7 was made on a popular engine as its base, but that does not mean the rest of the stuff wasn't written badly. Or maybe the problem lies elswhere? Maybe their QA departament simply sucks?
Galaad said: No Heroes is not AAA title, but should be. Legendary franchise is the only reason they can permit themselves to sell it actual price, the nuance is not that benign. But they are giving it a long and painful death. About Limbic, I think they have their share of responsibility too, notably regarding gameplay elements.
Well unfortunately that's only how we would like it to be. I think that games like Heroes being considered AAA titles are things of the past. Nowadays there are other more popualar genres, MOBA's being at the top of the chain. TBS are for "nerds and boring people, todays players want fast action and a lot of fireworks"... Of course that does not mean they couldn't have made at least a decent game. Heck, even indie developers do a better job...
PS: I think "death" is too hard of a word here. Sure, H7 is dead for me, but consequentaly, good things might come from this. Fans were never this much determined to make something positive out of this mess. Maybe this will lead to some interesting stuff like that Quantomas's project for instance?

On the World of Might @ Magic book, there is written "based on Ubisoft's best-selling franchise". Sure, it was written 5 years ago and things change quickly but it is a sad proof of how Ubi treats with famous games series.
Seeing how the patches look like and how few improvements they bring after so long time period, it weakens even my enthusiasmus.
Sure, if Limbic is going to work on the game for at least two next upcoming years, the game can finally become excellent. However it is more probable that Ubi will want to end the game development asap.

Regarding the AAA title discussion. Heroes 7 has the pricetag as a AAA title. Quality wise however is an entirely different story.
Please note that AAA title doesn't mean anything nowadays since there are a lot of AAA titles released that are absolutely dreadful

Thanks for the reports, videos and emails so far. Not good some really dumb stuff is showing up. As always i'm not someone to give political replies or suger coat issues. I will have some meetings this week with how bugs are prioritised and fixed for up coming patches and so on. Development has 100% not finished (so that's a bonus that we'll actually fix these things). As annoying as it is to encounter bugs, those of you who do report them help MASSIVELY with getting them fixed. Remember though that if I say 'thanks we've fixed that for the future' Doesn't always mean it's in the NEXT patch. This is because we have certain timelines and what not on when builds have to be sent to be tested and so on.
I'll be updating the spread sheet constantly through out the day, some things I for sure need more information on, others have been addressed or are simply not a bug. But I will note that down as I work through them.
that's what "Heart" said in the steam forums. I can't even... does he even...?

On another note, here is what an enthusiastic, casual player, with no connection or influence on the game at all, thinks about the new global mod.
It's obvious that from his position, as an enthusiastic, casual player, he cannot shape the game in any way, so he has to wait for modders to make him pleasant surprises. Just like you and me, I might add ... lmfao
This cannot be stressed well enough:

Or maybe is just a communication problem? Again ... and again ... and again ... lmfao ... again ...

for a person whose job is to represent a team of professionals and communicate with customers as clearly as humanly possible that guy just doesn't seem very cut out for the job IMO, even in terms of tripping over very basic spelling and grammar and such to create confusion, sorry no personal offence guy, but hey neither would I quit my day job to be a chef or an author if I haven't the knack lol

I reckon he might have misspelled something, like "the game WAS 100% done already" and not "has 100% not". Either way, no matter how different conclusions I try to wriggle from that sentence, the results stay the same. ^^
