I really don't get the complaining mentality of this community. Degrading the lava elemental was JUST "rhino", while wanting what is effectively "JUST a bird (with electric powers)."
I'm fine with this rhino. At least it isn't a dwarf, it isn't an overused symbol and it isn't overdecorated.

Can't we just be glad that they heard the community and provided at least model wise what we asked for?
1. Not too many dwarves
2. A variety if units
3. No reused assets
All in all guys, it is a very good lineup model wise. Let's wait and argue about abilities.

I almost want one of the Fortress units to inexplicably have Incorporeal, just to drive the Necropolis fans insane.

Well, incorporeal should have been an ability. Not that many units could use it, save for Ghost and Ghost dragon. Even water elemental i guess. But all in all, depending on how it is implemented, it is a strong ability to have.
I mean, in heroes V it made ghosts damn hard to kill and annoying as hell... That in Heroes VII could prove game breaking.

When you fight 100 ghosts and half your attacks miss, the ghosts get to you and decimate your army because of bad rolls, that's how -.-
And in heroes VII, i fear it will end up either too conservative and uninspired, like "all enemies attacking this unit get -2 attack" or it will make the ghosts too strong.

Those were either hilarious or outrageously infuriating  I'd have much prefered it if missing only meant you deal half damage. H5 mechanics were overkill.

Bloody LOL, i did laugh out loud, you might be right!
Now really, everything is either fine or nice or it can be ignored but that ratbold is kindergarten stuff with its teddy-bear design.
On the other hand, most probably you won't be able to distinguish a rat's @$$ on the battlefield if proportions are still the same as they were in the beginning, so maybe it's to soon to worry about it ...

Luckily, we have 3Lion to fix the sizes and if indeed a unit gets incorporeal, i am sure AcidDragon or someone will give it to the appropriate units as well

On a completely different subject, let's speculate on something I haven't seen anyone discuss in a looooong time: music. What do you think the Fortress music is going to be like? I get the feeling that, while not quite a repeat of the H5 music, we'll get dramatic booming drums once again.

fortress already has an AWESOME theme it has smithing sounds in it, like a reminder of "the hobbit". there was a scene where dwarves were forging with their hammers like singing a song... that music reminds me of that. anyway, overall i think its one of the best music in h7. damn, fortress is really good, im proud of being a fortress supporter. imho they are much better then sylvan at all things. line ups, music, theme, lore, everything!

btw, after that, you can listen inferno theme too, which is again, awesome. probably my favourite among all the soundtrack.
song name comes from upgraded red dragon, "Ardent". this is from its lore published today:
