That's not new, afaik.
I wonder if H6 idea of using actors as base for Heroes was inspired by the original Isabel portrait. I actually didnt mind that, it was fun.

Those neutrals actually look pretty cool. Naturally, that means they will look utterly unimpressive when actually in game of course.

What did you expect? The kraken is another dragon blood amalgamation. 
Also is it just me or is the kraken a kappa reskin?

I think the arcane archer and blackguard look pretty nice. I don't see how using blindfold helps to aim bow better, but I'm sure they have deep lore behind that... Kraken seems really underwhelming to me(actually looks like back-side is enlarged kappa). Lizardman seems just "meh" to me(more like what orc equipment should've been like).

The kraken's pretty cool looking honestly even though it doesn't look much like a kraken. The lizardman looks good, they've been missing from Heroes for too long. Fingers crossed that now that there's precedent for them existing in the game world we can finally get the H3 fortress back soon.
The other two units look dumb to me- a human archer and a human infantryman? Yawn. Hope they're strong and worth buying at least. I guess they're slightly more creative than the Haven units.

But what would you expect for that to happen? As we know, gnolls are taken. Wyverns are taken. Hydras are taken. Basilisks are taken. Lizardmen are available and other units would still need to be introduced, such as dragonflies and gorgons. Only three un-allotted units remain, and although gorgons are the jewel of the eyes of every H3 Fortress lover, there's only an ominous path of what Limbic could decide doing with that unit in the end.
In my humble opinion, a new faction would be something to be considered, given that the acceptance of new factions is always something well-received in the series, even for not so popular ones, such as H6.

I was more hoping for a H3 fortress type faction in the next heroes game actually. If they ever finally go forward in the timeline we could get some different factions with creatures shuffled around like in the good old days.
I would be okay with totally new factions too but I always thought a swamp lizard-snake-monster faction belonged in Heroes, and I feel its absence in Ashan.

lizardman and kraken from neutrals,
gnolls and basilisk from stronghold,
an editted rhino(to a gorgon) from dwarven fortress
hydra from dungeon
mix all them up in h7 editor.. and there we have a h3 style fortress town. i thin this can be modded. yeah theres no dragonfly, but its not really a big deal imho.
my comment on those new neutrals: i liked them. i assume kraken is a replacement for kappa, and i think this is a good decision. kappa had a silly smiling, sort of idiotic face and a really wierd attack aniamtion.. i never liked it. kraken looks much cooler.
i really missed lizardman, its good to see them in 3D model.
arcane archers.. meh, i dont like sound of it, im againts OP archer concept. hated playing againts sharpshooters in h3.
black guard looks like direct import from dark messiah. i didint liked much but i dont dislike. its acceptable.
