Unoffical Community Patch (UCP)

Unoffical Community Mod (UCP) is a community modification for Might & Magic: Heroes VII and its expansion Trial by Fire. Since the game development ended in 2016 and no more official updates can be be thus expected, it's just up to this game's loyal fans to fix the remaining bugs and make Heroes VII great again. And so the largest bugfixing patch for this game was born...

See? I told you Heroes VII are not lost as long as there are dedicated fans

I salute to Ant and his neverending enthusiasm for Heroes and all others who are still here, making H7 better.

With the Ashan-Trashcan mod revival, Coflux and AC mods on their ways, I can see a lot of fun is awaiting us in the year of 2018 and beyond

Now, the game works like a charm, not without a few hiccups here and there.

Just installed the community patch yesterday morning and, played a add-on based RMG medium sized map(only 4 players obviously). One of them did conquer the 2 other A.I. based players and their adjacent fort ruled territories. I still prevailed by having a quite large army of foot soldiers even though the Elite troops did most of the real damage on the battlefield(especially the immune to negative spell effects ones: upgraded shooters that are quite damage making like Zealots: forgot their names already, sorry.) The Holy Humans now, do really overcome pure Necromantic Evil in this title.

Anyway, ummm, could finish it with the victory pop-up window but, by using the button Main menu, the game completely crashed. Had to use the Task Manager function of Windows in order to close the game and, fully return to the Desktop main window of my PC.

Still, it is really way more fun playing than that of the previous title, as of now. Thanks a lot for fixing all these gameplay bugs, buddy.

good job on some of These Bugs fixes (: maybe ill do an overhaul for my mod with it if u dont mind, when i quit working on my mod it was because of work and stuff, at the Moment i would have time for it but i was trying a lot to improve the way how the AI handles the hereos to make the the AI more challenging, it is not so easy without coding skills and the Editor sometimes suck but maybe ill get back to it, have fun (:

Game version: 2.21 (the latest) including the add-on Trial by Fire
You can also possess only the main game or only the add-on.


Actually, through the game client of Uplay, the main game incorporates the add-on expansion within itself.

You, the player, must click on the button ADD-ON to use all that is the extra campaign, pre-made squirmish maps for it and, its own RMG that will include the Fortress(Dwarves)Town.

If, you, the player, use the RMG to make yourself a map within the original game without the add-on, the Fortress(Dwarves)Town will not be available to use for yourself and the A.I. player alike.

Moreover, having only the Stand-Alone Expansion will not grant you access to all of the previous campaigns + Squirmish maps + The Lost Tales of Axeoth's special campaign that was included as a free bonus DLC type of add-on to the game while receiving one of those huge patches while the game was still being developed.

It does not change anything on the fact that both owners of only the add-on or the vanilla game can install it.

It's surprising (in a good way) to find that there are still people who still try to fix this game. THANK YOU.

I tried one map (Dungeon vs Necropolis) and want to share some thoughts.

1)Faceless' buff often disappears when the buffed unit attacks and kills enemy instead of when it's attacked. I'm not 100% sure but it seems that the bug only appeared with UCP.

2)Atleast in Russian version Shadow Lurker's ability ('something' Visions) is no longer displayed. It still works through.

3)Are you sure that Shade's Soul Venom shouldn't work on non-living units? IMO Dungeon already somewhat disadvantaged against necro + said venom worked on undead in H6, because, if I remember right, devs said it wasn't a real venom but a corrosive alchemical liquid. Magic acid basically.

4)Can you make so that game still remembered unit arrangement after using autocombat?

5)Sylvan Asha's Tear building bug still exist. It's special effect always stop working after some time. It may be related to either upgrading Sylvan racial skill after the building was built or moving a hero to garrison and back.

Let's look at it:

1) I will check that; however, it cannot be caused by the UCP as it doesn't touch warfare abilities at all.
2) Are you speaking about the buff description or the whole buff mark?
3) It's a difficult problem with poisonous abilities introduced by Limbic. Their understanding of poison was really confusing and many false bug reports came as a result of that. There was a difference among various kinds of poison. Dependent on its origin (Shade, Spider, Spell...), some of them did not work on undead or constructs while another ones did. It was difficult to remmember... that's why we have decided to simplify that and no venom should work on either undead or constructs now. I agree it might cause a small imbalance between dungeon and necropolis - but I believe it's from a good reason.
4) Although this issue is truly annoying, I don't believe I can do anything with that.
5) Does the whole bonus provided by that building disappear (including additional gold) or only the one connected with the racial skill?

2)It's completely missing. No icon, no description, nothing. It isn't shown in the current effects of afflicted enemy either.
3)I understand your reasoning. Through sometimes it feels like almost half of Dungeon tricks doesn't work against Necropolis.
5)Only racial skill effect.

I've also found that the new version of Soul Reaver ability shows English "Soul Reaver" text when it activates.


May I ask you a question unrelated to UCP? My brother asks about camera-showing-the-battlefiend-at-the-start-of-each-battle thing that was present in demo-version but removed at release. Do you know if it's possible to return it?

Are you speaking about the text displayed in the log window, in the ability description or the floating text on the battlefield?

The camera should be still in, only switched off. You can turn it on in the game settings.

Floating text.

You speak about camera-showing-attacked-army thing. In the the demo camera first showed whole battlefield and only after this - attacked army. I believe it was removed as the animation was too long. My brother is the only person I know who miss it.

Oh yeah I remember that... but most players would not like that change as you say.
