Griffin riders WOULD be cool, it's just that... nobody in the entire franchise has ever been depicted as riding a Griffin before, so why would they change that?

Quite disappointed this far with those line-ups.
Mostly humans, and I never got into the normal mages and the golems in academy. I dont like the name of the bird and I don't like the colossus.

I hope they are Valkyries, just because they are from norse mythology doesn't mean they should be with the dwarves, that is the most useless point ever made, they should mix around mythologies not put everything from the same mythology in one town. This isn't the real world. Valkyries (who ressurect heroes and stuff like that) suit more with haven than with dwarves.
But if those are valkyries, then the swordbearer as champion would make even less sense.
Swordbearer is really the worst unit of all, followed by the golem and that lizard thing.

But you don't know Ashan's definition of Valkyrie do you?
That is the point, they are free to make things as they like in their universe. And Fortress is also mountain, Norse-like faction and Valkyries pretty much are Fiery Angels as we saw in the Ashan compendium. And they fit Fortress in my eyes too.

And yet valkyries could prove an awesome addition to the dwarves. I love sylvan but the dwarves could prove pretty interesting this time around.. All it takes is a more Nordic feel, less dwarves and a new rune system and we could get a sweet ferocious yet defensive tricky faction.
PS, I hope they will be more glorious than their artwork indicates. Those ladies look like a fiery/ashen version of the glories, rather underwhelming really.

An armored bear (otso) would be very cool.
Too bad I see a saddle on that bear, so probably it becomes a boring dwarf riding an bear.
I don't like the dwarves if there are more than 2 dwarves in that town.

Yeah, wouldn't it be better to call it Megasquire?
And about the unit lineups.
I like the upgraded Crossbowman and Footman(?) helmets, those look badass, but I wonder if they aren't too much for a core unit 
I don't like the idea of Swordbearer as a Champion unit. There was a Paladin as the strongest unit in H2, and there he made sense, but a Seraph and Swordbearer look too similar imo, when it comes to overall unit type, both are humanoids (probably Seraph too) wielding a sword.
I'm intrigued with those ladies in helmets.
All in all Haven looks a lot like alternative Haven upgrades from H5.
If we're talking about Academy, it's good to see Rakshas, those are my favorites, but they should make them faster then in H5. I'm interested in the mechanical human-faced core unit, which probably is a Gargoyle, but it's a nice and fresh take on this classic.
I like the bird unit, it's a kind of a Phoenix, but I like it's Egyptian-style beak...

Since when did Valkyries bring dead soldiers back to life? I'm pretty sure they just took the dead soldiers' souls to Valhalla.
It has already been established the Valkyries belong with the fortress. So yeah this isn't "real life" in the sense that that composition is already unconventional as it is. Plus Valkyries with fire hair?
That hint given by Elvin is vague enough as it is. Maybe she's not a unit after all? Then again, she does get an upgraded artwork.
I'm mostly pretty happy with the rosters. I get how neo-haven has taken a more inquisitive theme, along the likes of the wolf duchy... But is it representative of Ivan, this game's (potential) main character? And what was that talk of a griffin in the site's haven description?

I actually like Swordbearer quite a lot. I am wondering what his abilities will look like considering he is just usual Human as champion unit.

I like this Haven and Academy line up.
I just hope that the creatures don't have too many special abilities....H6 was flooded with them. Back to basics please.
The swordbearer looks like a 1 tile creature (on that battleground pic) but is a champion unit?

Valkyries picked the souls of the best warriors to heaven so they became Einherjar, which are HUMAN spirits, not dwarves.
Humans as champions is the worst thing i've ever seen.
