Why the Wolf Dutchy? I have a theory for this. We know that the Wolf Dutchy is rather more vicious, direct and practical. It is located in a more mountainous region. But most of all, the Wolfe Dutchy is home to the town of !!!Flammschrein!!! the most holy city in the empire = the base of angels and the inquisition. On the H7 site there is a note (see the Sylvan vs Fortress voting page) that the angel is the representative of the Holy church. And as the church is home to the Wolf Dutchy, it would be logical that it would use their local units.
I wonder what the Watcher is going to be, what kind of a unit. A Witch Hunter style creature. A beastmaster (falconeer, Griffin/wolf trainer), a priest like zealot?

Swordbearer isn't new. It's justPaladin/Crusader from HoMM1-2 with different name.

Maybe since the whole Irina incident of Heroes VI, with her and her son inheriting the duchy, the Griffins and the Wolves have gotten along a lot beter.

OK for the swordbearer and the disciple!
But NO for the Magic Bird! it's not a fire Bird and he certainly did not have the rebirth ability.

Only notable event in that period sofar? CoH is actually closer to the 5th eclipse rather then the 4th. Look it up in the Compendium, I know you have it ;-).

We're having GRIFFIN dutchy WITHOUT Griffins in their lineup. And people here are cheering and welcoming it like it's the most brilliant idea the devs had so far. SPARE ME! This is a mistake of colossal proportions. The ONLY thing they didn't had to do is exactly that, removing one BEAST just to add one more HUMAN. Freakin great. Let's hope that Griffins are SOMEHOW involved with the faction, like some racial, ability to call down a Griffin or something.

It's a blow of fresh air to the faction, I like it.
Having Griffins always part of Haven was getting very old.

Oh really? Why hasn't ANYONE said ANYTHING about it so far? Seriously dude, that's the creature they have embedded on their shields and armor, and named a FREAKING DUTCHY after it. And we had it so far and people liked it, but suddenly, after it's been revealed that it might not be part of the Haven lineup, it turned into a boring and overused creature. REALLY?! You gotta be kidding me.

Sorry, about my comment about Fortress not being eligible due to the lack of dumb sexy female fan-servicing stereotypes was supposed to be bout the HoMM3 Fortress...I forgot the Dwarfs shared the same town name.
Unless some of you guys fancy some of the infamous Mirlanda undraped photo-scrolls...
