Well, they could surprise us and create a mix of the stronghold and fortress of H3. Focusing on another clan of orcs, like the blackskull or the desert orcs, they could give us gnolls, wyverns and ... hydras (!!) in the lineup. Thats also a long forgotten champion creature. Gnolls seem to side with stronghold in Ashan. Behemont could be the other champion.
Could be fun!

The spiders are a great alternative to the bone/ghost dragon. However i would love to see a return of the Venom Spawn, if not as creature then as the necro catapult or better yet the ballista.

+1, reapers are more appealing to me!
Reapers are the ultimate symbol of death, so they should be the highest tier of Necro creatures.

Really? Cuz I think a flying magical creature works perfectly with Academy.

I have to agree with this, but I'm having higher hopes for H7 than I had for H6. For example:
For Heroes 6 Erwan said: "we tried to reduce management, especially micro-management. We want the player to feel like a commander in battle and not like some town builder".
But for Heroes 7 Stephan said in the Q&A: "In a Heroes game you have to make sure at every single stage of the production process that the adventure map and the combat map, along with the economic and the RPG dimensions constitute a coherent structure."

sorry if I offended you Hoturabi, but I'm from Paisley, I'll probably be passive agressive from the cradle to the grave, lol
seriously though, the game just seems so unambitious from what we've heard. without meaning to be a debbie downer, it sounds as though it will be like a greatest hits of H3 and H5, but likely struggling to reach the heights of either one
at least, the marketing sure looks like it's going the route of H6, i.e., "let's just build hype by teasing creature artwork every week instead and hope those stupid plebs will buy it despite our dull metagame and awful AI"
really hope they prove me wrong, for their sake
i wish there were some more buzz from them about the evolution of gameplay, and i mean logical, cerebral innovations which provide depth, not halving the resources or adding a "brand new" town conversion feature which has already been in the H3: WoG fan mod for over ten years

Yes, I guess a second shooter for Necropolis would be great. If they however keep the Skeleton Spear man and I guess the Lich is quite basic, the Venom Spawn would be already the 3rd shooter.

@Elvin, will we have Stronghold and Necropolis creature line-ups in the nearest future, let's say, at the end of Gamescom for instance, or further away? This much you can share with us
BTW, I'm a bit bored with those generic civil war scenarios in recent Heroes games. Why not make episodic campaigns like in Heroes 3 and it's expansions for instance. One campaign was about a dragon hunter, other about a tournament, and the next about a border skirmish between two factions. There can be two campaigns about the main plot point (the civil war), and the rest should be stand-alone'ish to some extent. More diversity is for the better. I wonder how it will play out in H7, because from what I've read, the campaigns will be constructed in a way in which a guy from the Shadow Council tells some stories for Ivan to learn from. This gives me some hope...
PS: Behemoths!

While it's not possible to judge how well they succeed, aiming to make a "best of H3/H5" is for me the best approach they could have. H4 and H6 shows as prominent examples of how bad things can turn when someone comes along and wants to "reboot" the series ... I say, don't fix what's not broken.

I would really really like to see Behemoths beside Cyclops as Stronghold Champions. Both are huge and fat creatures, but one is heavy shooter(Cyclop) while other is relatively fast and aggressive monster(Behemoth).
And would also like to see Gnolls too, so my guess would be:
Tier 1 - Goblin, Harpy, Crusher
Tier 2 - Centaur, Shaman, Gnoll/Wyvern
Tier 3 - Cyclop, Behemoth
Seeing Trolls and Ogres again would be great experience as well, but perhaps as neutral creatures since I doubt that they would put them together with Stronghold.
About Necro lineup, something like that was my guess as well, but I really hope that they would replace Bone Dragons with Death Knights or Wraiths(Reapers). What would also be really cool is to have a Banshee as Champion for Necro with some really strong abilities but overall weak stats.
I don't like that all of the Champions are huge and tanky creatures, and Swordbearer might be the first one to be off that path so I have hopes for something like Banshee in that lineup.

This precisely. Reaper as champion with Soul Reap aoe based on enemy morale/negative effects, similar to H5, would be the best champion ever. I really don't like the Weavers, I consider having another shooter for Necropolis inappropriate. We need a flyer and a melee, so Dragon and Reaper would be my choices.

On a side note, I wonder why we didn't see an actual screen of a townscreen yet. Guys from one of the gaming services in Poland which have seen a presentation of the game say that they look really good , because they're full of details and animations...

I liked Namtaru because of her two forms which makes it really cool for a unit in Heroes game and it is first unit like that I think. But I definitely could live without them.
I can't stand Bone Dragons anymore(unless they are well done, and I seriously doubt that they will be...), it is just another flying pile of bones that bites and is casting debuffs when bites. It is not original and it doesn't seem powerful enough...
Tier 1 - Skeleton, Mummy/Zombie/Ghoul, Ghost
tier 2 - Lich, Vampire, Death Knight
Tier 3 - Banshee/Namtaru, Reaper
That is what I would like to see, maybe replacing Death Knights with Lamasus while putting Death Knight in the champion tier instead of Banshee/Namtaru.
