I must say, this looks better then I thought!
Nice graphics, especially the snow (very climatic), and a lot of event animations, though it's probably like with the Spectral Dragon (this time we have an Arcane Bird) from the first ever H5 presentation: most of those will be absent from the final game...
Oh and nice lighting effects.
I can see a lot of things "borrowed" from previous two games, I wonder if it'll stay that way. Spell icons are from H5, objects and icons are from H6. The townscreen is exactly in the style of H6 (with it's crooked buildings even ), must be the same artist.
But for now I've seen everything that I wanted, and I'm interested even more
PS: I liked the Titans death animation: it deactivates like a machine.

No. It was a scripted event. There are a lot of scripted event in the gameplay demo how it seems

I won't lie. I am getting really hyped for this. I really like the idea of enviromental obstructions and changes. I also like the idea of flanking and using cover during combat.
Aren't the combat maps a bit small though?

The vid was nice, albeit the demo map was short and straightforward. That map seems to be overscripted, but it shows lots of potential.
Haven townscreen is gorgeous at first sight, better than H6.

The game looks good, but also the problem i see and fear is that as the game graphic are very detailed it will be hard to see things on the world map.

I like the demo overall.
- love the titans as usual
- love the avalance. I wonder if it will be implemented in a custom game. I think it should.
- love the townscreen. I like it better than H5. Glad it's not always turning around. I found H5's townscreen confusing. Now, we only need a good townscreen music like H5 did.

Hmm the thing I dont like is to much smoke/fog effect animation in it, otherwise it is ok. Not the best, and not the worst, but ok.

The battlemap seems too cluttered. It might not be a problem if they are hand crafted cos after a while you get to know them well enough, but if they are randomly generated then they can destroy balance very badly.

Thanir said: I have to say I'm really happy they went with the Unreal Engine 3. The graphics look really good especially the adventure map. And those scripted events should provide some interesting missions too.
The only thing I was a bit disappointed was the Haven townscreen. While I like the general design of the town, the graphic style of the townscreen looks a bit strange to me.
Yeah, I kind of agree, a bit surprised at seing the town screen, it doesn't look bad, but still somewhat underwhelming, and sort of graphically worse than the adventure map, which is a bit ironical since the town screens used to be the arts of the game with the best graphics. I find the colours and lighting to be a bit too pale and low contrast.

Oh lol. It was Fabrice after all. My bad.
Moaaar videos pls. But I guess this is enough teasing for now. Can't get the demographics all worked up a year before release.

That's most likely because the town screen isn't made with the game engine unlike the map adventure or the combat map

um no, I don't think the quality and detail of the town screen's 2D art assets is really influenced by the 3D engine, lol

Town looks magnificent. Rugged, simple and not flashy. Except the gold Elrath in the back. People here don't like the fog. I think it's great. Landscape shoulda had more trees, but the hills and mountains are gorgeous. What I don't like is that it's crowded. And, what I absolutely HATE is that town portal there. IMO town portal should be a high level spell only achievable by powerful mages and with cooldown, or some other drawback.

I think townportals makes game too easier and gives more opportunites for allowable mistakes.
The name of upgraded Swrodbearer is Swordmaster
Also now we know all types of combat magic (light, darkness, earth, fire, air, water) and I guess something like a world magic, summoning magic and artifacts.
P.S. And 12 15 spells:
