looks like this guy was mentioned back in Heroes 5
Quote: The great archmage Sar-Mirym was the son of a human father and an elf mother. Though trained by the wizards of the Silver Cities League he had friends among the necromancers, believing that all roads to knowledge are equally legitimate. He studied the nature of demonic creatures as well, and spent quite a few years among the dark elves. As a result, when Sar-Mirym left this world a great many people claimed to be his heir. They were unable to solve their dispute peacefully, and resorted to might as well as magic to stake their claim.

Hello everyone and good evening! I just got "resurrected" from a state of almost death (darn flu) and came up with these guys. What do you think? It's not a specific unit or what not, I just wanted to get them out of my head
Cursed Shell: “Binding a soul to a corpse is the ultimate punishment in Heresh for that soul is forever striped from the cycle of death and transformation”. Though few would admit it, there are worst punishments amongst the ranks of the Necromancers. One such sentence is binding more than one soul to a single body and this punishment is usually reserved to leaders who ordered their followers to commit “horrendous crimes”. Through a long ritual the guilty is mummified alive and the souls of his most trusted allies, his generals for instance, are forcefully “poured” inside him. The body is sealed in a casket or sarcophagus for three nights and when it is finally opened the reaction is most violent. The body contorts and its ribcage opens as spirits try to get out. It is in this crucial moment that a Necromancer focuses his will on the body and the original soul dormant within. Neither alive nor dead, the guilty feels his anguish and pain as much as the torment and ferocity of the souls trying to escape. Although rare, these “Cursed Shells”, as some soldiers call them, have been seen roaming the battlefields. They also say it is impossible to catch the creatures of guard as souls try to get out in every direction slashing through everything they can reach.
Tormented Husk: Despite his best efforts a Necromancer knows all to well he can’t keep a Cursed Shell forever. It is such a painful existence that in time its physical form simply dissolves. In its final phase the corpse’s flesh becomes harder as the soul is trying it’s best to survive a little more. The spirits trapped inside become more violent and in their eternal struggle to escape regain glimpses of their past selves which manifest in the form of weapons. In some cases magic chains are used to subdue them.
Depending on which side you are on, seeing a party of Tormented Husks in action could be a spectacle or a nightmare. Attacking in all directions it is very difficult to escape them and when finally put down they don’t go quietly as the trapped souls burst out in an ethereal explosion harming all living and spiritual things around it. Some call this event “mercy” or “Asha’s mercy” as some spirits are believed to make it back in Her web.

Ñ'mon now, Avonu fixed it already.
Mirym 10/10, Rakshasa - cool, Humans - ok, specs - meh, but standard.
Shells/husks - 10/10, though imho they should be posted in Altar of Wishes.

Just no. No half anythings please. This is not DnD.
Half-breeds in Ashan are sterile, so they are quite rare and will never become prominent races. But once in a while they allow for some unique characters.
verriker said: so not to be tasteless, but does this Mirym guy mean we could technically have a half-angel half-naga?
how about a half-faceless half-dwarf? not even kidding, that would probably be kind of creative and cool in fact lol
Depends on how the races reproduce. I don't think Angels and Faceless reproduce in a way that's, say, compatible with Humans, Elves and Dwarves, not to mention each other. I assume Nagas also can't reproduce with the other races.
Avonu said: Asad al-Kzin - Asad al-Xeen?
Could have been, but not quite Asad's full name is a little homage to one of the masters of SF and Fantasy, who has a particular fondness for lion-men

Faceless and Nagas I can see but Angels? They are practically just humans elves with wings.

They do - if you consider "taking human body as host for angel's soul" as reproduction. Also, Angels are build not from flesh and bones per se but from rays of light (IIRC some videos about H6's lore with Erwan and Marzhin).

hmm, I guess that's fair but oh well, I think characters who would be considered "weird" combinations like a dwarf naga or a faceless human would be a good way to imaginatively use the whole dragon god lore
