Reception was pretty bad though - many fans made it pretty clear that they held no interest in the franchise as long as Ubisoft owned it.
I think Limbic guys are doing their best, although Necropolis Elite is such a failure and their artists clearly are not the most skilled in architecture designs.

I think someone from Ubisoft forced them to make Necro's elite as similar as possible to the ones in Heroes VII. When left alone, Limbic can make really great things, as seen by great sketches of Vampires and Liches.

Yes exactly. I didn't watch twilight, but I totaly remember this trailer, where vampires were dressed in 18'th century aristocratic clothes and armor, and they were wielding swords ... The main protagonist was female vampiress who was proficient in using rapier and dagger. Her most fearsome weapon is sex tho, as she lures the men to bed and then decapitates them, drinking blood from their severed neck. Most of characters were portrayed on horseback aswell, as the movie takes place in early 18'th century, which is logical, given the clothing of people in it.
Actualy, if this is Twilight, it sounds not a bad vampire movie at all. But like I said, haven't watched it, so I may be mistaken.

That's not Twilight, I think. Twilight is the emo-like vampire and his family, I think in the contemporaneous age, where they glimmer in the sunlight and it's a love boring story which is worth millions – and that's so ominous.

It may be controversial opinion but I don't mind Ashanese Vampires at all. The sketches during voting were improvement because of size of blades of other options. However, I still agree that the Blood Monster is the best of all three options presented. Moreover, I am really happy with Lyla's hair - she is one of few Ashanese Vampires that don't have straight hair of grey-whitish/black colour. Seeing some variety in hairstyles is always something good.
Speaking of Twilight, I have watched only ten minutes of the movie but vampires there are even worse. Have you ever heard of sparkling vampires? If not, you should see some photos of Edward standing in the sunlight. However, there is one aspect in which Twilight Vampires are better than Ashanese ones - there is greater variety in their hairstyles.
Additional info - in Twilight there also a faction of stereotypical vampires who want Vampires to remain detatched from human beings, what Edward's family opposes.

@panda: Ah that's right ... silly me. You mean that awful movie, where vampires are presented as brooding superheroes, saving heroine junkie lady from car crashes and such?
Yep that sounds like Ashan. I mean, the third vampire, blood monster was choosen because he drives a Hybrid car right? I mean people are enviomental and all. That's also why lady vampire wasn't choosen, she clearly had fur coat, and only synthetic cloathing should be choosen, so that critters don't suffer.
But now this vampire we'll get has jeans and a t-shirt, he also packs a Desert Eagle ...
C'mon ... it's hard to even be sarcastic now-a-days

Hey, we're talking about an Ashan game, controversial opinion is the one wishing for Bela Lugosi or Nosferatu Vampires-type.
However I will agree H7 is the "best looking Ashan" so far (aside a faction in particular I won't name because everybody knows which I'm referring to).

Bella Lugosi as Dracula = Edward from Twilight in 18'th century. Now I agree Nosferatu type from ... Nosferatu, is more monstrous, but neither of these are realy ment to take part of MEDIEVAL FANTASY BATTLE, where thousands of people and monsters are charging towards one another, and there's no time to get naked and have a cup of blood, then take a nap, as soon as sun rises...

Indeed I say so. Just because of a litle makeup, and angry pose for pictures, does not change the fact, that they choose "pretty boy" actor for it's time. Most dramatic shift is in fashion ... and that's it.

Indeed, I have read Dracula, and watched several movies, and I know what you're getting at. The part that, if a guy wearing This attire would walk down the street, you would say .... it's a Vampire. But that's not the point of a Vampire. It should be indistinguishable from normal person, in apearence. When Dracula (original) took place, which was in 19'th century, that was the fashion. Sure his fashion was a LITTLE dated ... like he was not in touch with modern fashion, but you would assume a bit strange person at worst - but also he was royalty - a count, and in those times, it was nothing special to see a peculiar count.
Here is example of how modern Dracula would look.
But if he would not be rich person with strange tastes ... he would appear like ... Edward from Twilight. And if he would be fighting in a large fantasy medieval battle then ... yes he would be wearing armor and sword, perhaps even riding a horse. What makes a Vampire a Vampire isn't apearence, but characteristics. This is: Drinking blood, being undead, sleeping in coffin etc.
And yes. This is where I have a problem with Ashan Vampire. By characteristics, it's not a vampire. You can alter his/her look all you want, but something that has no vampire characteristics, or maybe only blood drinking part ... is not Vampire. Mosquito drinks blood. Dosen't make it a vampire ...
