I don't understand. Marzhin said in another thread that emerald knignt will not ride lynxes, and are currently designed as mountless. Does that means they are just elves in green armour? I can't belive I'm saying this, but... that's somehow even more bland than blade dancers

LOL OMG I just read that too. They're basically Furies then, just Elites instead of Cores. In a way, it's like what Danny said, they're basically a reimagined version of blade dancers? Ugh so many variables, so many unknowns.

But regardless, a strike and return unit that doesn't fly or doesn't have a mount? I never understood how Furies could to that- run across most of the battlefield and back to the starting point on foot, wearing 9 inch stilettos. And so for the emerald Knights to be similar to that, as a walker instead of cavalry, (at this point in development) is a little uninspiring. Need more info. Or I might just throw away my vote to Sylanna's Fury huehuehuehue.

He said that current Emerald Knights aren't designed to be riders, but he will ask developers about it and he has also asked us what we would want them to ride.

That's a relief I'm all for deer riders then

yes, do it! We need more votes!

I agree. The name Emerald Warrior is too bland.
They should have another name for it like Emerald Dancers or something. How about Emerald Singers?

At first I voted for Balance (yeah, I like H2 Sorceress and H4 Preserve, so nostalgia there...) but with reminding that Phoenixes will be of H6 variety I am much less enthusiastic about them (too similar with Arcane Bird, in concept, not in color, color can be changed easily).
 I also have a feeling that they will shove that H6 Thunderbird as champion in Stronghold faction.
  Although Cyclops as shooter (eye-laser or rock-throwing) and Behemoth as close range killer, would be much better; but we now much they like their silly Ashan lore in which probably Behemoths don't exist, although if they wanted B. could very easily been tossed in.
  I would like to know, does somebody have some information on this matter...?
 So, with T-Bird being very likely possibility for champion I definitely switched to Strength. And Green Dragon being durable and walking doesn't mean it will be tank. Just a damage dealer that is not a glass cannon.

Edit : Sorry, wrong thread. Move it to Sylvan line-up, please...

I'm surprised that people don't find the lack of flyers important. Maybe that's just me, but I always liked that within a faction there are usually at least two fyers (in Heroes III all the factions were like that, except for Stronghold). It allowed for different tactics within a single faction, depending on the circumstances.
To me "walkers" were always the least interesting creatures. Flyers and shooters  were the "special" ones.

Right now we already have a defensive-walker Haven with probably just a sinle possible flyer. And now we will have a defensive-walker Sylvan with possibly no flyers. Add to that Stronghold (probably just a single flyer, as usual) and that will mean that half of the factions in the game will be walker factions. To me - that's boring.

meh. I'm sure we can create a bunch of strategy for a faction without flyers. Plus I think Sylvan should have no flyers. They are an earth faction. They want both feet on the ground.

Did the nagas in H6 have a problem with having no flying units?
i thinnk such a lineup upens good doors for more unique strategies rather then "Agressiv up front" Deffenders by the archers.. shoot shoot shoot

It might have been helpful in siege battles. Still, I am not against a lack of flyers.

I didn't played H6 enough to judge that, but:

one faction maybe, but several of them? Do you really want that?

Well on a completely different note, do we know, beyond any doubt, that Inferno and Dungeon will be the next faction vote?

Nothing is "beyond any doubt", but that statement did come from an interview with Limbic.

But - they could very well change their minds at the last minute. It's not a "design" feature, written in stone.

@Avonu:
Yes I do, and don't see a problem in them. Atleast it will give fortification and obsticals some meaning. Look at haven in H6. 3 Flyers/Teleporters. 1 unit with an Immaterialize abilitie and 1 AoE shooter. Walking units had no meaning at that point.

@Storm giant
Yes I do. Giving everybody everything turn heroes into a big rock/paper/scisors game. H6 in my eyes overdon it, with to many flying units, shooters etc. A more down to  earth approach, that gives focuse on units themselves rathher then their abilities is for me the way to go.

I think that the problem of siege battles can be solved in Sylvan. Snakes may have an ability to gig itself into the ground and attack any chosen square. Treants might be able to attack like in CoH and therefore it may grow roots and destroy city walls' foundation. What do you think about this idea?

Too many turtling factions if we get dwarves. Please add something uber aggressive + magic oriented (stronghold aggressive w/o magic) or we'll have a tankfest throughout the whole game.
