Discussions like dark is better then destructive are too vague and meaningless. Focus on the individual spells. At this point only frenzy is known to be overpowered because I made a numerical error which I will fix. The secondary effect of deep freeze is also a bit overpowered.

I'm in the process of fixing issue 5., I can tell you 8. is not possible.

Talking about spells I remember that a long time ago a chinese mod was provided that introduced new icons for empowered spells in the book. The looked quite good. Why were not implemented in the mod?

Those icons were not drawn, they were clearly made by merging existing H5 icons together in photoshop, some looked ok but some were really bad. The quality needs to be consistent otherwise it is not implemented.

Is it possible adding to the map of the adventure additional objects, for example Statue Griffin, Lobby of Raiders and many other, knows from heroes 6?

I am not sure is this right place to post this...so sorry in advance if it isnt.

Anyway, I have problem with artifact sets. They just dont work for me, as you can see in the picture below, the game dont recognize when you have more items of the same set and just shows(in this case) 1/8. Bonus isnt applied neither for the half or the complete artifact combo.  


This isnt just a problem which is fixed by reentering hero stats screen.
Yes, i read the FAQ and searched the web for possible solutions. I even tried to reinstall the game, still problem persist. Anyone?????

P.S. Thx for this great mod, especially to Quantomas for the AI improvement. Yes, there are still some problems, but this is completely new game now. Thx too Magnomagnus too, your work is greatly appreciated.

@burn: If they don't work as explained in the FAQ then the script engine must have crashed permanently on the map you are currently playing (but in that case your backpack artifacts shouldn't work either). If you don't have any possible conflicting mods or custom maps installed, then the map you are currently playing likely has a script that overrides the H55 script recovery system (some singleplayer and campaign maps have that for example).

@mario: I haven't investigated if the amount can be extended, but there will be very little room to create unique new functionality

Thanks for quick reply...the is one of the original heroes maps provided with the MOD, I didnt downloaded any new maps. I am not entirely sure if the set give bonus in other maps, I sure hope so. But I am sure that when you equip more then one item of the set, description text always said that only one item is equipped(like in the picture above it always say 1/8 for example).

Should this be like this?
Is it same for you?

    And yes, backup artifact worked on this very map. For example first one in the backup on the picture above works(Golden mascot of the legion).

I always received a reward when brought them to a Sacrificial Altar but the cumulative effects (+4 on all skills with the full Dragon Set or +2 with half, for example) never worked.

On a side note, the rewards I was given did not compensate the exchange.

Close the artifact screen, then right click the hero and look at the stats again, it is not that hard.

Same thing here, few other people have this bug, but it seems to be fairly rare. Hopefully someone will find a solution and post it here.

Artifact sets bring one more strategical dimension to the game, it is shame we miss it in this mod. Nonetheless, HeroesV with this mod is twice a game compared to vannila.

I finally managed to get this to work. I will write solution here, it may save someones time.

Problem was somehow connected to old profiles that existed on my PC. I installed 5.5 MOD over fresh TOF3.1 install but I forgot to delete old profiles. So, if you have a same problem just uninstall old profiles located in (WIN7) documents/MyGames/Heroes of Might and Magic V Tribes of the East. Copy your old saved games if you want to. This fixed it for me.

magnomagnus On this same map when i open the console it says **(SCRIPT)ERROR: attempt too call a nil value**
so if you still need my save game to prevent this from happening, just post it here. I ll upload it asap...

I don't think that could have been the issue, but reloading the map or end the turn in the game could have done it. That error message was likely a false one produced by a questionbox.

Also, a question, as I'm a slight bit confused - there are supposed to be 18 Heroes per faction, correct?  (plus a few extra for Haven and a few less for Stronghold)   But whether I reset, or check all, or check none, the values within the text editor just don't add up for any faction to what I would expect them to be.  I'm looking in map.xdb - am I looking in the right place or am I hitting something wrong?  At the very least, while I know how to DELETE heroes, I have no idea how to add them.

Right click AvailableHeroes in the map properties tree, then click delete all, save, done.
