Actualy with no script activation we have error message rng failed to load map.. 3.1 is version we did everything as described inculuding deleting other maps

No, the scripts only need to be activated for multiplayer (hotseat,LAN) and if they are not activated that should not prevent the map from loading. If the scripts are not activated you will encounter many bugs during play, but only after the map is loaded.

With regards to loading problem: after generating map, make sure the other player has a perfectly identical copy in his maps folder (copy/paste it, do not let the game autogenerate it based on seed)

also to be 100% sure; you did install patch 3.1 before MMH55?

Possibly the resave of the map also caused another structural change.

So we finish yesterday our first duel in h55 , it was cool random map was very fun to play , one thing i was playing dunegon and at the start i  gor 500 + 250 income how is that possible? i didnt get anything i guess to have that

Hi Magno. I'm having difficulty adding the newly made template back into the .pak file.  I'm using winrar.  It gives me an error message: Cannot create.  Access Denied. Is there something I'm missing?  Is there a different program I should be using?

I can tell you what it is. When map is RMG this is not a strict map.
This means that it is a map with a set of regions and placeholders for monsters and artifacts but the monsters artifacts and objects are not yet set.
It is a map with random rules. Every time you play it the placed monsters/artis are different. It cannot be played in LAN because random elements are not generated the same at start of the game so basically both players will play a map with different monsters - one will see Lich guards while the other will see Hydra guards at the same place.

When you put a script and save it the map becomes Frozen - artis and objects are autoset at the moment of saving and they are always the same each time when you play the map (I am not talking about the scripted sites which are random).

However RMG maps can be played on hotseat multiplayer because you  have one engine generating the random stuff.

Not sure If I described it correctly but this is how it goes.

Probably the town specialization is gold (+250 income a day).

I have no plans to work on campaigns or story maps at this point.
I have enough work on the platform.

My hope is that others will create such content at some point, just like people who still create content for WOG, while the original creators are long gone.

That sounds plausible, but in single player it works differently, even if the editor is immediately closed after generating the map, it remains the same every time you play it.

Found a bug!

Faction: Dungeon
Hero class: Assassin
Hero name: Eruina
She has only one artifact - Register of the legion ( tier 2 creatures increase by 6 per week)
She also has 1 blood fury and 9 minotaurs in her inventory.

Just got day 1 and no such furies joined my army.

Before the beginning of the next week I  gave her another artifact for growth (tier 1). It didnt work again.

other heroes work.

This is what the console said on day 1:

[Script Warning] Value was NIL when getting global with name 'totalgrowth'
(Script)ERROR: Attempt to index a nil value

Ok, that looks like a fixable bug, so you are saying other dungeon heroes could use both tier1 and tier2 artifacts, but not eruina? Also she did have tier1 units in her army?

and was it on rmg map?

The artifacts start working once transferred to other heroes.
Yes only that hero is bugged.
My maps are from armg. They are LAN compatible (saved + activated scripts).
She had 183 tier 1 units on the second test, the upgrade with invisibility. None joined on day one.

I got 6 heroes:
- 5 dungeon
- 1 stronghold

The stronghold one has 2 or 3 types of shatters (did it just for fun).
I have 3 cities - main is dungeon, secondary stronghold and tertiary dungeon.

Some earth elementals are summoned in the stronghold city due to the shatters of the stronghold hero.

P.S.
Not sure if matters but that Stronghold hero has 2 artifacts equipped the Legion horn for 1000 gold and the bag for 500 gold.

Is it possible to give a hero starting skill that he cannot learn normally ? For example Light magic and Demon Lords (they are not able to learn it from the skill tree).

The heroes don`t feel as unique as they used to. Maybe because there are a lot more of them or because some of them have the same specialization.. Small things like that can make some heroes really stand out as unique (the feel that you have the only Demon Lord that can use Light magic.. It remind me of Lethos from the original TOTE, Dark Mage among Summoners and Destruction Masters, with the difference that it would be a hundred times more unique now because noone else is going to have access to the particular skill tree).

Also giving Destruction magic to a Might hero will really make use of those stun and slow effects. It would remind of the original TOTE that some classes could use Destruction only for the utility.

One more thing - Retribution feels like its more of the weaker side. Similar perks give 10 % unconditional damage (which is also elemental), while this one is doing nothing on its own, it depend entirely on Morale and if you are not going for Leadership it won`t really give much. It have the potencial to be an insane damage booster but considering the fact that morale have no effect after +5 and there are now more ways to reduce it. Also MMH 5.5 is encouraging mixed armies which will lose the bonus morale (free elementals, necromancy..).

Also its useless for undead. It would be nice if this one is swapped with something else for Necropolis so they don`t lose a perk just for being undead.

Devilfire - Firstly,  heroes are quite unique there is no one which is the same.Some specializations cover but they are for heroes of different factions so again you have different strategy.

Secondly, witch huts that provide Light magic will give shatter light to the Might ones that shatter it (and vice versa for the magicians) so the answer is yes, there is no way to pick them.

Thirdly, Occultism, Sorcery and High SP schools (Destruction and Summoning) are for magic heroes as Combat, War machines and Leadership are for might ones. If you want stun you pick the combat stunning blow it can work even better than the destruction lighting/cold perks.

In a few days I will upload replay like that.

Retribution is quite fine it gives 2.5% damage per moral on ALL units which is still huge.

On a hero with expert leadership you can easily go as high as 7-9 morale which is 20%+ increase in damage.

Regarding undead - yes it is useless, I agree with you. Eratic Mana is also useless for might heroes with 5-6 Knoledge but yet it is been offered to them if they pick luck.

It's possible since sone Renegades (Knights) start with Dark Magic.

I assume it's because the only changeable thing is the damage modifier. 5% was insanely high in vanilla TotE and wasn't capped IIRC. Anyway, it's not a must-have perk now but if you're going the leadership route, it's still a good perk to take. The value could be a little bigger though (maybe 3%?)

For that to work, you need to equip a lot of +moral artifacts, and some are simply inferior than some counterparts, even AFTER skilling Retribution.
Also, IIRC it is completely useless for War Machines and makes Vampirism counterproductive. OFC, Necros aren't able to use it at all.
Sadly, it is a prerequeresite to Aura of Speed, which I really wanted on my Dungeon Hero... ^^


On a sidenote: Giving some specific Hero access to specific skills which arent possible in the normal way, I actually quite like this idea. Not something like giving Destro to a Hero Class which has only 10% Chance to get Spellpower, but ...

@Dredknight I am not sure if you got my idea the right way. I`m not proposing to give entite skill trees to entire classes. What I`m proposing is to give a particular skill tree to a particular hero, who can`t get it otherwise.

As for uniqeness yes, they are, but some of them feel more ordinary. For example the Demon Lord (I can`t check his name now) that is getting demons every week. That specialization feel weak and uninteresting. What is his selling point ? You can argue that 200 demons will make a big difference in late game but lets be honest.. Noone is going to pick it over fireball ballista.

Now imagine that he got access to Light magic.. only him, not every Demon Lord, just him. Now you have a good selling point because his specialization is not good but:

1. He can buff better than every other in his class
2. He got access to Assault Teleport, while noone else has
3. He have more flexible building path because he don`t need Power of Speed or Power of Endurance (which mean he can get archery and flaming ballista without the dissadvantage of being slower in battle)
Etc..

Now he have a selling point. Even tho his specialization is not good enough his skills more than make up for this.
