Yes, but you need 4 different relics and a special building that is, sometimes, hard to come by.
My change would make the phoenix equal in terms to 2 Dragons, superior if the Hero is stronger (since the scale far better through spells and A/D), while still not being the non-plus-ultra (well, that was the plan).
Currently you are hard pressed to get 1 Phoenix per Town per week, while it is only slightly superior to a T7. It isn't something you would be able to integrate into your army, currently. Well, I personally do not see any possibility anyway.
In most of the maps I played, Phoenix dwellings were non existant. I only remember two times coming across them, even capturing them, but finding no use (I played as Dungeon with 2 Towns).
What about the Death Knight? Or the Mummy? Any intentions to change them?

I don't know why the Ai progress bar has always been like that, but it makes it easy to see which Ai you are using, i believe the blackscreen already existed in TOE 3.1

I've always wondered myself the same question... Nevertheless there're some maps in which you're able to see the screen in between turns. Anyone knows why? I mean, what would be the difference? The fact is black screen's annoying, at least for me.
Changing completely the subject, gargoyle mod doesn't work for me (yeah, I put it in the data folder, and still nothing). Have this happened to anyone of you, friends?

regarding the gargoyle mod:
When was the last time it was edited? As to say, what is the datum of the last change in the explorer?
AFAIK, the last changed one will be read, thus, since Magno did overwrite all creatures, you need to open the files of the gargoyled, change something (and undo it) then save.
That is, if it actually was the cause for it not being read

Nordos is correct. I could see the mod after removing magnomagus mod so date it is.
Olorin do the maps who have black screen have underground? If yes it may be plausible that AI is on another floor than the one you are at so you don't see what's on. Do you have this issue on maps with no underground?

Regarding the gargoyle thing, well, the last modification date is today... I'm not sure how to change a .pak file
And I think you're right Dreadknight: AI should be underground. Phew, at least now I know what's going on. Thanks!

Also I agree on this one:

Interesting thing about MMH5.5 is that this "breaking point" comes very far it the game. So while we can safely say that no game is ideally balanced, yet in 5.5 there is long, long time of play before reaching a breaking point. So although Inevitable, its still far away.
For example the replay that I put in some earlier post, that you are referring to, is only the first big battle (between human and AI player) in that game. So the game has not reached such "breaking point" yet. Minimum of several other really big battles followed that one, for game to be finished.
Which is huge for a game of heroes, because it means that everything is in place to produce a long (really long) interesting game.(skills, ARMG, creatures, artifacts, game mechanics etc)
As for the supply/support/maintenance system sounds interesting to be considered. (maybe with a switch On/Off when creating the map?)

@Magno, bug reported from the FB society -
Gurvilin (academy hero) gets gargoyle reinforcements every week while he is level 1. The spec says he has to be lvl 2 to start getting some.
@Belisarius, never tried manticores so I favour your evaluation of it. I may try it .
In the post with the huge armies game is already out of balance as destruction school is useless besides deep freeze. Lighting and ice magics can have good value if hero have the frozen and stun perks.
Same goes for summoning - Any elementals, damaging spells and arcane armor are useless. Only useful ones are blade barrier, arcane crystal and Wasp Swarm/Hive only if it slows unit initiative. Mirror image becomes IMBA at that point of the game ;P.
Dark and Light are always viable.
Actually at second thought if one having certain school has all the magics of that school he is still OK in that stage because the few spells he can use in Destruction and summoning give huge advantage while Light and Dark are OK (Excluding Frenzy double turn which is still OP as hell). So I think you are right. We got some not so bad balance here. The only change I would like to see implemented is damaging spells to kill % of the stack besides the flat damage. Unfortunately without the Ubi code this is not possible.
Regarding the code. I contacted Nival at 2 different emails but I got no response whatsoever (about 2 months since I did that). They either dont care or are afraid of Ubisoft . This week I will try ubi and see what happens.
I will check replay later as I dont have h55 on this PC.

There was a mod which did remove the black screen. I did not test it.

I will add the blackscreen to H55, because this one will have issues with unreleased RC3.
As for DK and other new creatures, I have this stuff shelved until better graphics become available or until I decide to make better graphics myself.

I once had a version of Heroes years ago (probably 3,0) and the black screen was gone in MP/SP so you could always see the map while waiting for AI turns. After buying the H1-H5 set, reinstalling, and patching to 3,1 the black screen blocks the map in MP but not in campaigns or custom SP maps like The Days of Fire etc.
I assume the blackscreen mod should be in the UserMOD folder? Copied the file but the black screen is still there on MP maps.

Just for clarity, here is a screenshot of the black screen issue.
The blue line at the bottom is the blue player's progress bar. The black screen covers the map, but on certain resolutions (or just full screen), you can see a pixel-wide portion of the map behind the black screen.

I noticed that the old Deidre specialization is missing -> Banshee - the effect of Banshee Howl ability increases as hero gains new levels
Why is that ? Is it too OP or something ?
