aye it would be nice to get all stakeholders' permission and hold hands, however bear in mind all the other mods which don't bother such as WoG, plus Ubilimb never did ask Games Workshop and Blizzard's permission to rip their content and put it in the Erwin games, I think we are merely following established protocol in the regard of this lol

H7 still works on an initiative system, just like h5, if you actually mean tweaking the numbers, then it is entirely possible, as well as making an h3-like system where speed decides the order.

I usually don't advise people to waste money on h7

Also, in the news. I started hex editing upks rather than using the h7 editor, I try to use it as little as possible, relying more on udk and even hex editing, because I'm pretty pissed off by how many set backs caused by crashes I had. While hex editing is prone to crashing too, there are a lot of more interesting stuff that can be changed, but for now I will mainly use it for numeric values, since opening and closing h7 editor just to fix some values takes a crapload of time.

Now, I guess there's something more interesting to show off, while it's still in an early stage and may evolve into nothing, but 3d town screens may be possible. The townscreens are actually planes in a 3d environment, so by playing a little with the camera you may get a better perspective and with some work, mainly adding extra planes so you won't see the adventure map around you, changing the camera settings and ofc adding buildings, you may or may not recreate the town screens in a 3d environment.

But for the initiative system:

Just there are no "rounds". Just like it was in h5:

Initiative 1 = creature gets his turn

Initiative of a creature 12 means a crature can hit 1,2times/turn:

every 5th turn an extra attack
Creature 4 means 0,4hits/round and so on.
Its kind a different "attack" system

Seeing that picture made me actually dizzy  : P is it actually ingame?
Other people said that 3D town screens would be impossible!

Well, you could always get the game by some... corsair means - also, you are actually doing Ubilimbic work for them and people already said they would buy the game just because of your work in the mod lol

As I said, real life is a butch (?) - that's why releases must be done too. It happens that people lose the files and the will or the time to go on and nobody can continue their legacy or learn from their codes later.
Also, is it possible that the new expansion exes and mechanics break the mod?

now that the Support for the game ended.... much sooner than i exspected.... whar is Kind of sad... we Need the moders more than ever to improve the game, im glad they were able to to hotfix the most serious Problems but the game still has Problems.

I think we Need a Magic Balance mod at last, fire Magic is too strong, while dark Magic is too weak in the beginning, this mod Looks cool as well, i hope ull finish it soon (:

Magic system is gonna get a complete overhaul, starting with merging and pruning schools. So, I encourage all to just write down all their opinions/ideas/suggestions here.

note that although LizardWarrior is awesome and a miracle worker, not even a legendary wizard can transform complete faecal matter into gold without her/his/what's/its magic wand,
Limbic have supplied no source code to the community, they have hard coded the AI and many other aspects of the game, and these are forever irredeemable, they are beyond the scope of modding and will remain broken for all time without an insane Herculean lifetime's effort to crack the game, so be warned not to expect miracles, this will never become the best Heroes game no matter all the hope in the world lol

THey cannot actually release the source code because it's licensed on Unreal 3 which is a propertary engine...

merging and pruning Schools? how this gonna work?

one of the biggest Problems atm are some dark Magic hereos that start with despair or even worse weakness, weakness is soooooooo useless at the start of a map and despair could be good if it would be stronger right of the start and scale less than currently when u Level up, so it would be best to buff weakness and despair

4 magic schools instead of 7, I was just working on first, but real life got in the way Also don't worry about starting spells as all schools will be more accessible, as well as there will be at least 5 spells per level, so you will have plenty of spells to use no matter which school you chose to go first for or start with.

Oh OK, sounds interesting (; playing hotseat on rmg against ureself with Everything put on random seems to be the most tun when playing this game atm since AI is not challening and MP is not stabile and not very balanced but i think a good balance mod for spells would be really good for the game (:
