Canada MIGHT allow one of its provinces to cede, being the tenderhearted and enlightened people that they are.

No lol. It will only go in one direction. California will need to secure some nuclear weapons if they want to join Canada or be independent. The opposite is not true.
If the USA ever Balkanizes, I am moving to England or I am staying in the northeast. The southeast gets a lot more federal funding than it gives, so it will turn into a trashheap by itself.
I am 100% in support of seizing the Falklands if Britain ever gives up on it because the population is going extinct. Argentina can suck it. We are going to build a major military base / resort there, and Argentina is going to pay for it.

Fair trade - Western Can has a asia-pacific (~Mexican) slant, eastern Can joins europe 
and your United States of Hydrocarbons gets another route to the Artic

I dont have a problem with bribing Greenlanders into joining the glorious imperium of the USA, but I dont think they will ever do it without the Danish welfare system.
Plus the guy who is in charge of Greenland is a white dude who looks like a ****ing q-tip. He is 30000% pro-Denmark.

It is an unfair game if you can buy votes - EU realizes this so they (with the help of anyone else) will shift the narrative so that 'nobody' owns it, but the US can pretty much muscle its way into whatever bases it wants/needs

Yeah, Denmark is full of radical right wing warlords who are drunk on power and conquest. Somebody needs to liberate Greenland from their iron grip before they turn the entire island into a giant wind turbine.
That part of the north Atlantic is also where the whales have like over 200 types of signals or something. Humpbacks are only 1 or 2 million years away from having a legit civilization with laws unless we stop them.
