I wonder if the search feature could somehow be updated, or maybe I am using it badly?
I recall doomforge giving a review of the movie Avatar, I tried to search for it, but I haven't been able to find it. I must know what doomforge thinks about Avatar!!
In my experience, the search function often gives many unwanted results, I'd rather have few, but easy to go through result, than it just telling me the post may or may not exist.

Search function is hardly functional, as it forces us to browse all possible results manually and does not support logical expressions (or at least they are not given).

Hi again.
I am searching for threads in the osm about education, though my searching skills don't seem to make me able to find any such thread.
I wonder if we could add kind of stickied thread which explains the general features of heroescommunity, such as how to search in a smart way, etc.
Also, if anyone know about such a thread, please link me, I'd like to post in it.

I asked because I saw the movie some time ago and had a memory of you having written a review of it in a thread of yours. I wanted to share my personal opinion about the movie in that thread, but I don't even remember much of the movie anymore, so I won't be able to add much to the thread myself anymore. You're most welcome to make a review, if you like, of course.

Thinking about it now, I think an ignore function would be a good feature I think. Sorta like FB, in a way, where it just hides whatever they write, as if they didn't exist.

Should be made so that you are unable to quote the post DIRECTLY above your own. Two users who do this all of the time are Darkshadow and Trogdor. What is the point? To be able to read our own posts yet again, as well as being a total waste of space. At least if you do press the quote button, at least remove the damn quote. It's a waste of space.
Oh and if you think it's pointless me complaining, well I've been told off by moderators about it before, and think it's only fair if moderators tell them not to do it, otherwise why tell me off in the first place and I get in trouble for it? lol makes no sense. Have consistency.

I find it so fun.
And why does nothing, again, get done? Maybe I'm overreacting but why do I get told off and when others do it, nothing gets done? Apart from that, it's just annoying. Why feel the need to quote something directly above your own damn post? I've heard others complain about it but then good ol' Elvin thinks it's fun to mess with me. What the hell. lol

I agree with will that consistency is a nice thing to obtain (having as a goal), I do however wish, in the most respectful intentions, to present the view of the 'other side' in the manner of quoting someone directly above your post.
It is, in the situation of a very long post, where the author in general might have had a thousand thought and just as many sentences about the subject that if there's no quoting done, yet only a resume inside the reply in the next post, it's very likely, upon misunderstanding by the replier, that the author have absolute no idea about what the replier is replying to.
I know it's a 'unique' case, but I think due to it, and similar cases, that quoting should still be allowed for the post above, eventhough in general it may cause more 'eye sorering' than without it.

I mean quoting a post which is really short, such as maybe quoting the entire post that is your own. You know?

Yes, I believe I understood your suggestion, and it's not that I disagree with your view point at all. It's, I think, more your suggested solution isn't the best idea, because it can limit heroescommunity in other ways, which is the point I wanted to try to represent in my reply.

so I guess quoting this is acceptable to you?
How would disabling quoting small pieces of text above your own post limiting the community? That's the biggest toss I've ever heard.

What I oppose against is your suggested solution as written in your first post upon the topic discussed currently in this thread:
Will wrote:
Quote: Should be made so that you are unable to quote the post DIRECTLY above your own.
I do not in any way oppose this, which you write in your latest post, which I quote to show the vital difference, which I think was left out in your original post, and to which I agree, with this difference my objection of course do not have much merit:
Will wrote:

I hope this makes what I meant clear, as I have no wish to continue this discussion, as I believe both viewpoints of the suggestion have been shown, unless you of course have any arguments to add to it, at which I'd be happy to reply given I've some thoughts I find relevant about it.
