I think you are quite wrong. Because the terrorist activity in the middle is far from being concentrated in Iraq.
The fact this guy got eliminated may have only stalled the terrorist activity in Iraq, but it will be back.
A good example is when Isarel eliminated Sheikh Yassin of the Hamas, and they got pissed off and retaliated. Then they eliminated the next leader, Rantisi, and still Hamas is active. You can never stop terrorism - you can only stall it, but it will be back, much greater in caliber.

Feel bad? According to their logic, his death signals the fact that he has reached matyrdom. Zarqawi's death only provides a symbolic sense of vicotry but in reality it means nothing.

One down, a few thousand more to go.

Al Zarqawi's death brings renewed hope for troubled Iraq and the Western World.

While evil, vile, hard-line Al Qaeda Islamic Extremists will praise him as a martyr, the free, Western Democratic World will see this killing as a victory for the Free West. Removing an evil monster from the planet will surely turn the battle to the allie's favour, provided that Al Qaeda dosen't re-organise a new jihad soon. We hope someday, that the war in Iraq will end in an allied victory, and not become another Vietnam (I hate to think what will happen if it does).

Personally, I'm happy that the evil man has been killed, and that we're making progress in the battle.

So what ?

America : One point.

What was the score just before that, again

Oh yeah, right : ZERO.

And, how many Zarqawis are still out there, ready to <<retaliate>> as they say, again

Oh, I remember : about A ZILLION.

I would recommend doing some maths, mister President. Course, reading a few solid manuals such as Geopolitics for Dummies, The Art of War and Terrorism from A to Z wouldn't hurt...

Lmao, am I the only one who noticed Consis' new avatar

Ya gotta love US politics...
1) Middle ages - 19-th century: Despite the crusades, muslims generally stay quite tolerant of other religions and different Islamic branches. I seriously doubt those people would want to strap explosives on themselves and blow themselves up it in the middle of a crowd.
2) Mid- 20-th century: USA supports religious fanatics in the Middle East just so they deal with the communist influence in those countries.
3) Religious fanatics successfully deal with the communists and pretty much everyone who thinks differently. WTG, USA!
4) 70-s&80-s: USA supports Osama, Saddam and the other dictators in the middle east to acheive more influence in the region, to sell them oil and to fight USSR.
5) USA starts the war to "spread the democracy" in the Middle east. By a pure coincidence the main two targets (Iraq&Iran) happen to have the highest oil reserves.

So, where exactly IS the source of terrorism? Anyone care to explain to me?

I see there are a lot of good christians in this thread. Why? Because a good christian is always happy when someone dies or gets killed.
What if , for example, Iraq invades you country? What will you do next?
I'll tell you what I would do! I would fight them as hard as  I can, even if that would mean that I would eventually get killed. That's exactly what the people of Iraq are doing right now. They are trying to free themselfs from the american occupation.

No, no, no! You don't understand! It is NOT an occupation! Those soldiers are there to bring the FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY to Iraquis!

Cuz you see... Iraquis can only be free when their country is occupied and ruled by the Americans... I hope this makes sense.

CHAINING is back

Hehehe

What's also interesting to witness is the chaining of troops that's has been a reality almost from the beginning of this war and has been intensified lately. Some of you remember a country named Afghanistan ? It still exists, you know... Just because it hardly make it to the news, doesn't mean nothing's happening there !

Basically, less and less american soldiers are willing to go BACK to Iraq. They go once, do their time, then once they're back home they say "never again". Reminds a lot of the 'Nam, huh ?

So, more and more troops are taken AWAY from Afghanistan TO Iraq. Leaving the talibans and terrorists more and more room to grow and rise again. Once the war starts in IraN, chaining is likely to continue from Iraq to Iran, as well.

Strategy wise, I can remember a super powered army who ended up defeated the same way...

Guess What, It actually happened now and, right now.

The Taliban is gaining ground every day, slowly but surely. Might as well rename Afghanistan to The Empire of the Taliban.

If The Taliban repulses the entire U.N. coalition, this will be a major blow to Democracy and the newly adopted Charter of Human Rights.

Lebanon's Hezbollah(another new organization of rebellous terrorists) have attacked Israel and, Israel responded with air to ground missiles launched from the Israeli warplanes. Now, long range artillery and missile launchers are pounding Beirut. All foreigners have made a blitz exit via troop transport copters and a multitude of passenger oriented boats(Mediteranean Sea)from the few embassies responding to the demand of their own specific citizens.

Lebanon will be a mere battlefield after the whole ordeal is gone through. Beirut has been, once again, leveled/razed to the ground.
A whole territory to be recolonized and rebuilt ground-up.

I say, that if all this continue, in 5-10 years from now, from the very center throughout the western territories of the Middle-East and, all the way to the Med. Sea, it will be nothing more than a huge wasteland.

Ya Ya Ya . . .

This is nothing new. 10 years before we got there, they were beating back the soviets. We are nothing new. It is impossible to defeat the Taliban and other such mujahadin mountain fighters with methods of war. If anything, I would say the best way to defeat the Taliban is to educate their women, sanitize their water, and establish a more valuable resource than opium.

But who am I have such high ambitions . . .

Yea..Yea..Yea!! (we are starting to sound like one of The Beatles' song)

Like as if that was not in my own mind already since the start of the invasion. Silly!

These Talibanese need some 10,000 years old traditional tribal-survival of the fittest like type of total punishment.

Evacuate all remaining City, town, village non Talibanese citizens of the new democratic sovereign Afghanistan.

Then, raze, burn, destroy all that stands up as a possible dwelling/house/building.

Massively make Air-Strikes/bombing of their so-called Strongholds to mere rocks, gravel and, pebbles.

After that, just seeing their crying, desperate, question filled faces could be really interesting to admire.

Nuking everything is: also a good and thoroughly effective way to make a 360degrees overall burnt ground territory. Enough to render the whole country radioactive for at least a century or so(upto 500years).

No genocide in the picture of the last post of mine. The Nuking is done only after all citizens have been evacuated.

Sounds really expensive of an operation. But, hey, Its a proven method of softening the extremely hard headed and, already beaten once regime by the now occupying forces.

I was a topic of conversation around here?  Now that's a suprise, I figured I'd be forgotten about pretty easily.  What were you talking about me for?

New with me?  Second year in college.  Finally got to vote in an election this month.  (about time)
Don't really know what to say without some questions.

What's new around here aside from the complete change of what "belongs" in the Other Side.

EDIT:  What is this green dot next to my name....?
