And now, well, she finally told me that she was annoyed with work (both hers and mine) because it meant that we could not talk with each other as much (aka, "kept us apart"). Now, my question is this... was this her actually trying to make things official and serious between us, or am I just imagining? Because I'm tempted to just go for it and ask if she wants to come up north and crash at my place for a few days.
Advice/ thoughts?

I'd prefer not to, but I can see why you would. Personally I like to keep a lot of people around me who keep me happy with just their presence, though getting in a relationship would certainly improve the amount of joy I get out of their company, it also comes with risks, id est, it requires you to put your existing relationship on the line. (I believe it was City who demonstrated this)
Do what you feel is right, you'll have to live with the consequences. I say go for it.

@gnomes: I'd say you should risk it, but I don't have a head for this stuff.
EDIT: If you're casual about it, I don't think she can even take offense, even if she's some cold-hearted monster that is out to ruin your life. You can just be like: well, guuuuurl (saying that alone has gotten me so many women in the past but I'm also devilishly handsome, so if you're not, results may vary), maybe we can catch up and meet at *seedy bar*/ *pretentious bar*/ *my place.*
Also: *art gallery*/ *nice restaurant*/ *awful restaurant*/ *the park*/ *the seedy park*
Even if she's like: "Oh, no, the buffoon has fallen for my feminine wiles! I must crush him," she won't say that you will never meet and that she never liked you in the first place (or something), unless she actually is some sort of monstrous devil-woman.
I have met those too in the bed room many a time, feisty but vicious creatures that are like wax in my firm, masculine hands.

Well, seeing as she lives in Texas, the worst that could happen is she takes offense to one of my Texas jokes and blows me away with her pet shotgun... but I guess I can be smart and not take that risk.

Agreed. If the thread keeps going how it is going, then it belongs more in the VW than here. Very little actual "substance" is going on in here, more picture spam than anything else.
