Well, Noob. First you've just got to decide whether you'd want to or not. If you want to, just go for it. Don't make it complicated. Just ask her if she could possibly imagine the two of you as a couple some time in the future. She'll say yes and you can give her a little kiss on lips and then you can both smile and await the most awkward of silences. Doesn't that sound nice?

I don't think that it's a good idea. Right now I don't have a reason to ask her that, so just walking to her and asking "Hey, are you single?" would be kinda weird and totally not my style.

Yeah, I've changed. But... acting uninterested has now become a habit of mine. I don't do that on intention, so people get a wrong picture of me.

I've started gathering info about her habits, it turn out that she likes sportsmen. It doesn't matter if they're pros or amateurs, the important thing is that she likes them.
Now I'm sure that I have no chance with her

Gee, it's not like she won't be interested in you just because you're not a sportsman. You and Ohforf are overthinking things that don't need to be overthought. We could sit here and discuss whether this detail means she likes your or that she likes sportsmen means she doesn't or the fact she wore green shoes on a tuesday probably means that she has a strong disdain for mint scented cologne. We could discuss it to the end of the world, but personally... I think she likes you one way or the other and you will never know for sure unless you ask. If you want some lines;
"Hey... Uhm... I just wanted to ask you if you were actually single."
"Yeah, I am. Why're you asking?"
"I... Kind of saw it on Facebook and I was kind of hoping that just maybe you'd like to be a bit less single with me."
