I'm not sure if a creature with a hundred arms would count as a humanoid. I cant picture how so many arms would fit in a human-like torso to begin with unless they are ridiculously small. Here are the examples from the wiki definition:
In fantasy settings the term humanoid is used to refer to a human-like fantastical creature, such as a dwarf, elf, Halfling, gnome, halfling, goblin, troll, orc or an ogre. In some cases, such as older versions of the game Dungeons and Dragons, a distinction is made between demi-humans, which are relatively similar to humans, and humanoids, which exhibit larger differences from humans. Animals that are humanoid are also shown in fantasy. Humanoids are also used in some old horror movies, for example in Creature From the Black Lagoon, made in 1954 by Jack Arnold.
Edit: I image-searched Hekatonkheires, there are versions like this which certainly has much less than a hundred arms:
And versions like this which are not humanoid at all:

Minion said: Yeah the definition is... ambiguous... to say the least. I thought there was an exact one. From the discussion here (ok, well maybe not from you, you just lolled) I learned something. You know, that makes discussing things all worth while
I just lolled. So that was all you extracted from my inquiry. Not the fact that I was conclusively showing you (and the others which unlike you got the idea) what an odd and limited vision about humanoids you had. I mean, what else is there to be said when a gamer, not my 80 y old gramma, tells you that "humans have 2 eyes so a humanoid has to have 2 eyes too"? We have orcs, rakshasas, lizardmen and other beastmen in Ashan with much greater dimorphism than that. Leaving aside the plethora of all other humanoid creatures there are in fantasy. So yea, to me the ridiculousness was so obvious that I just couldn't help but lol. Sorry I had such high expectations of a 21th century video games player that even challenged my idea of what a humanoid represents

*sigh*
Humanoid is someone (-thing?) that looks like human - has two legs, is walking in straight position, etc.
So Namtaru from H6 in human form is humanoid even if she has six arms. Same with Rakshasa with four arms and cat head or Deep Naga (four arms, snake head and tail instead of legs).
However Namtaru spider form is not humanoid - she has her upper part as human but her lower part is spider - she walks on eight legs insted of only two.
I think there isn't any "true" definition what is humanoid and what isn't - but generally if a creature looks more like human then the beast (cyclops from H5-6) then we can say it's a humanoid.
After all we have humanoid apes (gorillas) or even robots (androids).

Yes, I know. Unlike a minotaur or an elf however, there is no approximate consensus on what they look like which determines if they are humanoids or not. As I said, I find it physically impossible to both have a hundred arms and to have a human-like torso unless the arms are so small they are ridiculously out of proportion. Feel free to try drawing one.

Angels look like winged humanoids. Their features (in the sense "facial characteristics") are perceived differently by the beholder to match his own concept of beauty, but their general body shape and appearance stay the same.
Dwarves don't see Angels with the size of a Dwarf, they see regular-size Angels with facial features that look kinda attractive for a Dwarf...
What I got from this is that every creature perceive angels as beautiful. For example I guess we can all agree that this is beautiful creature (and I mean horse on picture below ):
Even if doesn't have humanoid face or even shape it looks beautiful to me. That's why angels can look beautiful to everyone.

The Orc shock troops become the decisive weapon in the War of the Blood Moon, turning the tide of the conflict and saving Ashan from total destruction.
So at what time were all the factions in Ashan so defenseless that none of them could fight off the demons? orcs were made with demons and human prisoners right? So basically there were more human prisoners than there were armies of black dragons, and unicorns, and nagas, and elves..etc.
Or did they just want to conserve troops, Even when their world is on the brink of total destruction?

Well ... everyone has his own fetish I suppose ... yea, riding that horse bareback
What I mean is: Beauty in terms of discussing Angels, is supposed to be of a ... sex appeal nature... Yes meybe a horse can see Angel like another horse, but human would see attractive human... or a furry if you're into that. In my case it would probably appear in a form of Asian dominatrix in tight leather pants and ... oh no, I'm being bad
It's not beauty in broad sense, you would use when describing animals or objects. Angel probably wouldn't appear as a car to anyone, even if you would find car beautiful ... it would be just too silly.

Hi guys ! Its just a few weeks since I firstly saw news about H7 and I have been totally shocked (and I still am ) Its a real shame I didnt know about this game earlier so I could discuss all of the informations already revealed, but anyway I decided to join now, I think its still not too late and there is still a lot of time to release date.
Maybe you ask who I am ? Well, the answer is you dont know me I am a long time heroes fan since H2 and my favourite title is H5 which I still play nowadays with friends. Back in times of H6 developement I was reading these forums, but the game looked very bad for me so I didnt care about it for a long and as so I didnt register on the here. However Im quite impressed by H7, eventhough I dont know much about it yet (still catching up all the news, there is so much articles and topics..) and because I like the how the game looks I decided I would join this time - I hope you dont mind
So I think I could share some of my opinion about the game ?
Well, first of all I am very sad Inferno factino didnt make it in the voting. It is my favourite faction to play with in H5 and as I know they were in H6 also (?) so I hoped they could appear this time too. But anyway, to take it positive I am glad they lost against Dungeon, which is my second favourite faction along with Stronghold. Academy is also one of my favourites and it was included even without voting. Good factions selection is one of 3 most important things for me and I am happy in this department. 3 out of 4 my favourite factions are included
Next very important topic is the gameplay. But I cant write too much about it because as I mentioned already I didnt have much time to read all the infos about game, but from what i read it looks quite good,I would say. However Im not sure if it will surpass the H5 for me. I will judge later on this topic
And the last but not the least - graphics and overall design of the game. Again, nothing to complain about here, with each year the technologies are getting better and better and so are the games and graphic. And Heroes is not an exception All pictures, units, buildings and even the teaser trailer it self was very eye candy, and when I saw it I was totaly amazed (I found it randomly on youtube so I really couldnt believe it after the H6 fiasco. And when I saw it I forget about everything I was doing and immidiately jumped on the oficial web to get know as much about the game as I could....
But yeah, the game so far meets all my requirements for a good Heroes game so I will definitely give this one a chance. I guess I will now go look through some of the main topics on this forums so I can get better vision about the game and about you . I will write here again later, cheers

Then I misunderstood. The idea that angels must look sexually appealing to every creature, just by having pretty face in that creature's opinion, is beyond stupid. That's why I didn't even consider that appeal must be sexual in nature.

I think what Dark-Whisperer was trying to say is that, such as a horse can look beautiful to a human even though it does not look like a human, an angel can look beautiful to a horse while being humanoid. No need for it to have a horse-face.
Or were you just trolling?

So angels can't look like cars
As Marzhin have said only angels face is what is perceived as appealing to all creatures. If its meant as sexual appeal then it is just stupid because not everyone with pretty face is sexually attractive even among humans.

Hi, welcome to the community. :-) Sometimes the unexpected surprises are the best. I agree good factions is a key to the game, and I'm also very happy to see Academy and Sylvan return, personally I don't mind putting Inferno on hold, I think many of us found they were overrepresented in a boring way in the storyline of the last games. I agree many aspects of H7 look good, unfortunately some things also look like they still need some work - Necropolis doesn't look too good imo., townscreens are also disappointing, and we have some concerns regarding the skill system also, although we don't know too much about that yet. But hopefully things can still change before (or after) release.
