Well, 'collection' is meant in a broader sense here . I do not own H1 and H2 at all, which is no other's fault but my own. So it's not even complete. I wonder if they even run on modern operating systems. I know of a place where I can buy a 'collection pack' with HoMM 1-5 including all addons.
I have 3, 3HD and 4 digitally, 5 and up are physically present.
@frosty:
For me, being used to the New Ubi Order and having no issues with H6 whatsoever, buying H7 is only logical. I enjoy the games, why would H7 suddenly fail to please me? 
That's just my personal take on it. It will suit my personal needs, so I buy it.

Ok yeah, otherwise it would have made no sense to me. I understand the "collection fetish", I'm also guilty of it on some things.

If by "modern OS" you mean newer version of Windows (8 and up) I would assume you can run them safely using DOSBOX as it has always been the case.

Hm...DOSbox would open the door to many other possibilities, such as ancient DOS games I played in the past (notably Supaplex, Jetpack, Commander Keen, Psycho Pinball etc). However, most of those are now fully playable online if you can find them.
Nostalgy input nr 1 (for example)
So if I can find either a physical or digital version of H1/H2, I'll consider the option. I haven't used it before, though.

A little bird once told me, for each game of homm2 you play on dosbox, it saves a person in the world, but for each Ubisoft copy you buy, it kills a thousand.

You have no problem with delaying a expansion but you can't delay a unfinished game.
I'm guessing their sales expectations for this must be really low since Ubi doesn't force it out.

Something what Heroes VII should've been, but is not. Ubi has pushed it too early, a mistake they shouldn't attempt to do once more.

You can buy digital copies of Heroes 1 and Heroes 2 from gog.com. They work great for me on Windows 10 and always worked on Windows 7 too.
Great investment, highly recommended. Especially Heroes 2, the definitive Heroes game in my opinion.

Back to topic. I really hope they are going to do something about unit abilities, because, right now, they are really dull, to be honest. But, on the other hand, units had too many abilities in Heroes VI. So something between that.

Seriously though, yeah there was too many dwarves in V, but, with all the Norse mythology potential, all they could think of is... a freaking hamster?
