I would be okay with totally new factions too but I always thought a swamp lizard-snake-monster faction belonged in Heroes, and I feel its absence in Ashan.
NWC (the only company that could ever design proper HoMM games) had some really cool ideas about merging the lizard people from Tatalia with dragons into an all-new reptilian town:

How can someone trademark Gorgon? Unless you mean Gorgon as a catoblepas, because Gorgons come from the greek "gorgones" which means mermaids but are reffered to three medusa sisters of which only the mortal one was called Medusa.

In case you didn't notice, Elvin hasn't been a mod for at least 4 months now . He can't hand out QPs anymore; instead, people will need to suck up to me  .

I don't really see anything complain about with the neutrals, expect the blindfold over the archers  . They're all really well made, even the kraken. It's a very generic looking design imo, and the kraken is sorta a mundane myth creature so I don't mind. The black guards (I'm assuming they're undead as we have no undead neutral) look really cool and I don't see anything wrong with the lizardman.
I'm hoping we see the kraken as a champion and arcane archers as an elite

However there is still small hope they will also copy those abilites (mostly the "I kill your unit and reanimate it under my command!" one).

How this is a copypaste? It looks like your bile poisoning your own brain. These creatures are the part of MM universe, but never were implemented in any of Ashan Heroes installments.

With a universe as "rich" as Ashan it's not surprising that they decided to re-use some assets... you know, continuity and such
Btw, as much as there's an obvious inspiration visible for the Kraken (Lovecrafts work, Heartshtone WotOG and Warcraft in genereal etc), I must say it's a nice twist in the 'mutated octopus' departament. The creature has an interesting design to it, for instance that octopus-like membrane between it's legs.
Rest are rather generic, but overall I don't give a f*ck, cause, you know...
