And what about the Frequency?
Are those some sort of relative values? If so, then relative to what? Is that connected to treasure density setting?

Notice that creating new templates will require certain knowledge of RMG (Random Map Generator) mechanics. Unlike the Map Editor, the Template Editor is hardly intuitive on first encounter, but both the Editor and the template layout will be further developed to establish a comfortable creative environment with the widest possible assortment of settings and tweaks.
So, it's time to do some homework!

Yes, this a name of a template. With tunnels
Quote:

Frequency describes weight in roulette-wheel object randomization.
Treasure density determines the number of treasure piles in a zone.
What I don't know, however, is the meaning of number next to treasure chest icon on a template view

Too bad... it sounded like a special mapobject similar to a teleporter. maybe a teleport with event. If you fight the battle inside -> the passage is free. Like mines of Moria in LotR or something.

I suppose not. I suppose you can still use existent templates to create RM as you can currently do. And use template editor to modify existent templates or create new ones and have them storaged in the same folder as currently available templates, so you will have more previously created templates to choose when you start a game.
I guess once the template editor will be available, some of the new templates created by users with the new editor, maybe even by the Hota crew members, will become popular in multiplayer games as it is expected to be better than the ones that are popular now. So I guess that it is possible that the best ones or the most played ones will be included in future Hota releases.

Most of those links contain general descriptions of some templates and some a bit more detailed mechanics (I finally found out about castle/town/mine density, which makes minor impact in generator).
I already have pretty good knowledge of RMG, but a term Frequency was never mentioned inside templates before;
So how these values work with object placement >> is what I was wondering about.
Hopefully editor will come with manual regarding fields within Object Rules section.

Docent_Picolan said: Release date had to be shifted once again. Despite the team’s hard work, there are still tasks that require additional time to finish. In order to prevent any further unfulfilled expectations, this time we will refrain from giving any estimations for the release date. Still, development of 1.5.0 is clearly on its final stages.
Returning to presenting the most prominent features of upcoming update, we will start with the one of aesthetic nature. As one could notice on the screenshots posted earlier, among other features of the update, there will be new models of heroes both on battlefield and the adventure map, that allow them to be distinguished by gender and class at the same time.
It is known that New World Computing had planned to create two models for each class, differing in gender. For example — one can find unused map editor sprites AH01m.msk, AH02F.msk, AH02m.msk in game resources. Male Cleric, female Ranger and male Ranger respectively. Alas, only the last one has made it to the actual game. Additionally, heroes with different gender and same class can be found on original alpha-version screenshots. One could see for example male and female Overlord both on map and in battle.
Therefore, it came once again to HotA to implement the original developers’ plan, for which they lacked time, resources or both. Although, mainly decorative, this task was planned almost since the beginning of the project. On early HotA concept arts one can find images of 4 heroes per town. In addition, in 2008 additional hero models were created for Cove as well.
As it is, the actual creation of all the necessary models started only about a year ago by personal initiative of a newly joined 3D-artist — DrSlash.
While developing the new models the team followed design patterns of default hero models, fixed the original sprites and made some new conceptual decisions. Thus, it was decided to move both of the original Stronghold hero models to the same class (barbarian) due to their likeness, while the battle mages have acquired their own concept that references other installments in the series. Cove hero models have been completely reworked and Conflux might heroes recieved a constant flame animation.

Incredible work as always Hota team.
I do have one small suggestion though as a Conflux fan. The Planeswalkers are supposed to be elementals themselves and I always hated how only the fire elemental was represented. It would be really cool if you guys made one of the two gender models a different element to reinforce the diversity among them. Perhaps you could use air for the female model instead of fire? It would be even cooler if you incorporated the remaining elements in the two Elementalist models as well.
Either way, I love what you've done.

Will the new RMG format allow to disable spell scrolls?
I never liked them in RMG (especially in that abundance!) and think they should be used for campaign/scenario purposes only

I agree... but they should be replaced by something else. Spellscrolls are just useful early game and maybe with a lvl3+ spell on it... but you can't count on that. In most case it's just lvl1 crap, obsolete in ~10 days. I personally would like more artifacts. For example artifacts that buffs "Estate" are completely missing. could be a set aswell.

The problem is that there are no other objects in this range value, except level 1 shrines. So I enabled unlimited number of Shrines in VCMI and now there are shrines everywhere instead of level 1 scrolls

No, it is not. I've been trying some modifications in random maps and one of my problems has always been the number of Fly and DD scrolls (plus summon elementals) in treasure areas.
A thing I like in 'useless' scrolls is: they are a source of income late game, when there aren't any piles of resources hanging around but every hero you defeat has the backpack full of scrolls. Me at least, I often bank scrolls in garrison heroes until I have a town with an Artifacts Merchant and then sell them to buy neutral stacks that will only join for a ridiculous amount of money.
But I would love to buff Estates.

These two are the most useful lvl1 spells for sure. But they just make real sense in mid or lategame (Air- and Earth-Magic on Expert) thats when scrolls are absolete and you already have your spells in your tome.

As I said before... an Armageddon, Clone, Berserk, DD, Fly e.g. scroll is quite different from a "Scuttle Boat", "Vision" or "Heal" scroll thats for sure. I never had any problems with resources ingame... maybe its caused by XL+ Maps. I wouldn't call any map below XL a "lategame map". Because anything else is rushed in no time. At least the living scroll concept of WoG was nice imho. You got a little use for scrolls sometimes up to midgame. Other solution: The spell written on that scroll cost 50% less Mana. But this would just buff strong scrolls like Armageddon and DD much more compared to other scrolls.
