DOH! I think my post may have been unclear - this is the post that I think is worth the qp!

But thanks for the support guys. Giving me a qp for that piece all of a sudden puts us into uncharted waters. While my lack of tact is sometimes refreshing for some, my targets often have hurt feelings. And while I can often get some laughs with my posts, many of these laughs come at other people's expense.
Qps, as well all know, are a strange and archaic gift granted by mysterious, fickle, and capricious beings whose sole purpose it seems is to make us wonder how we can get into their good graces so we may be be blessed with this little red star. Oh, but we can't be too obvious about it. Noone likes qp hunters.
They range from the "Hey, that was pretty thoughtful for a n00b like yourself, stick around" qp to the "There is noone who can churn out his vision of Heroes like you, The_Hydra. We're not worthy" qp. Those came in bushels until he tanscended to a higher plane of existence.
But they don't get granted for Gootch's, "I think you're an idiot. Here's why. And when I'm done with you everyone else is going to think you're an idiot too" posts. While I'd like to think they serve some vital function, they violate Val's pinko, pacifist, goober-new age, one with the cosmos, tai-chi flouting, zen, Buddhist, and yes, girlfriendless sensibilities, if not the CoC.
Maybe I'll get there some day. Maybe I'll be able to combine what I'm able to see with say, bort's capacity to make people laugh warm laughs. And wouldn't that be something?
Edit: I don't know about hora, but if I was in her shoes, I'd wonder what kind of cosmic justice rewards those who make me feel bad.

I would like to nominate Doomforges martial art thread for a QP. I think it's rather informative. There may not be a huge crowd participating but I think this thread is quite entertaining and informative thus I would atleast like the mods to consider it for a QP (just in case they hadn't already).
EDIT: And another thing which makes me feel all good inside is that it wasn't made for a QP's sake. I know that that shouldn't count as an argument but I personally enjoy that part very much since it unfortunately hasn't been like this often enough... atleast not for my (admittingly quite idealist) taste.

Desregarding the fact he wrote that lines in serbian language (is it serbian?), I do not see a real problem here, especially after I've read the translation.
Maybe because I'm not serbian...not sure.
Any others have an opinion about these lines?

I was kind of surprised that QP's haven't been awarded in this thread. I mean, William, Lexxan and Mvass wrote their life stories, presenting difficult and complicated situations, and even how they managed to deal with them. I think that those are really inspiring posts.

Heehe I was afraid someone would recommend that thread for a QP... atleast this early.
I personally believe that there a two reasons for not giving them a QP. To me this is similar to your "Meet Gadi" (sorry I dont remember the correct name. The one where you "revealed" yourself) thread. They shared very personal information with us and told us about how they managed to get over their problems. Sure that is wonderful (honestly) but I personally dont believe that you should get a QP for that. Not simply because the QP is defined as "something that has benefited the community" (perhaps it has but I hope you understand that the readers gain is based on his own life experience. I for example have not "benefited" from their posts while others may very well have) but because I dont think that shareing personal information should qualify you for a QP.
Second reason is that now (I think) it may look like as if the posters still to come in this thread post there because they want a QP (I dont mean to say that anyone would do that but please you must see how this is a posibility) besides then from now on everytime someone shares personal information with the community (in an extent similar to those) he would have to get a QP. Since not giving him a QP would mean that his personal experiences are somehow "less inspiring/special/whatever" than those that have one. I hope you do see my point. Its not that I dont think their posts are exceptional. They are. But cant they just be special WITHOUT getting a QP?

To me its a question whether you want posts like this to be QP worthy or not. And I dont. Not because I have no respect for their troubles/hardship/etc. but simply because I dont see how shareing personal information should get you a QP.
Oh and btw so far I have only seen QPs for personal information that has been really sad/hard/etc. but not for anything like "I just father" or very happy/elevating/etc. (perhaps there havent been posts like that or I simply didnt find them. But are you sure that they would also have goten a QP? I am not...(thats not a rant at the mods not doing their job!!)).

well in the old days people used to get QPs for next to nothing here. Right now it's the opposite - getting a QP in the other side is very rare, lots of great posts don't get rewarded. There were a couple philosophical ones by TheDeath or Mvass, outside quote wars that is, that should be awarded.. but they weren't.
If you check QPs from 2002 or so, that will be a good laugh - one liners with a shiny.. yeah, ofc.
