I meant eagle eye is a skill that you should have on 100% of games. And yes, you can learn frenzy from witches. You can't from succubi. You can learn any spell as long as they are cast and not special ability. For example, you can learn divine vengeance, but not resurrection.

I tried it and when witches triggered a dark spell with whip strike I did not learn it through intuition.

Are you talking about Witches under your control, witches you're fighting, or both?

Under my control but it wouldn't matter, arcane intuition allows learning from both friendly and hostile units. I could learn the spells cast from her normally though.

That's why dark route is harder than destructive and summoning. Except for Yrbeth, but the main problem is always the same, how can we learn high lv dark spell asap.
For me, summoning dungeon is might dungeon, though not pure might.
Pure might dungeon is Sorgal and maybe Kythra, but i prefer sorgal, because he can get power of speed asap. And Kythra is a hybrid of might and magic.
Quote: quote:Even if it's possible, learning it from mage guild is faster.
But Dungeon doesn´t have Dark Magic in Mage Guild, so no Frenzy from your town - you will depend on map and luck with town/guild.
I never said that it's dungeon's mage guild .

Whip Strike: There's a certain chance that during a melee attack this creature will use one of the following spells, in addition to inflicting regular damage: Slow, Weakness or Frenzy. (The spell does not work on undead, elemental and mechanical units.)
It seems that it should work.
@samiekl: Wasn´t that Frenzy and Weakness maybe? It seems that SM doesn´t have any option how to cast Suffering.

don't use dungeon much, but know for certain that you cannot learn spells from witches whip strike using arcane intuition(TOE edition). Also, shadow mistresses don't have any cursing attack.

I'm a new, and it will be nice if can give me some tips.
I read whole post (all 48 pages) and I learn a lot. I'm playing Heroes since Heroes III (not Heroes IV), but I never was extremely good.
If somebody can give me some tips about why strong I must (can) be in week 2,3 on some maps (I'm playing against computer on hard). I want to test myself I see can I menage that (if not - I must practice more and more).

By week 2 you can be lvl 15 or more, depends what you get from mage guild 3(assuming you built it) or secrets of destruction. If you get fireball with ignite you can take down lots of archdevils effortlessly for instance.
Basics are enlightenment, destructive and logistics while from units you only need furies and stalkers. In an ideal setup in let's fight Yrwanna took all mines(horder of tier 3) week 1, got fireball from secrets, then expert logistics fast and by end of week 2 took utopia to reach level 22. The normal level for week 2 there is 17.
Btw the map also has stables
Anyway you rarely get higher than lvl 16-17 by end of week 2 unless the map is rich with many tough neutrals.
And welcome to the community

Can you give me some example (like on <map name> you can be level <X> at the end of week <Y>. If you can please tell me that for few maps which are commonly in use.
Thanks again.

I'll confirm that, In my experience in TOTE you cannot learn spells from creature special atacks.

Hi,
I have a few questions.
@Gootch - The game with Lethos, which skill(s) did you dump for that dark Magic that he comes with ?
The Kythra post(s) - Is it ,build ( the minos ) and let them grow till end game ? Also, Given the Leadership all that I can come up with is to dump Sorcery ... or ?
I never found ( if it was ever answered ) the answer to learning from Mistresses / whip strike ? And my last one, Lethos and Yrbeth and their born Dark Magic, where do I pick up some PM - Frenzy ?
I know of Arcane library,Utopias,Pyramids,Mage Vaults and the tome....others ? *
* maybe someone could explain to me ( or better yet ) link me to a place I can find what spells are likely to pop up in my town i.e. Haven = Light Magic oriented ....
I have really enjoyed reading this and I have recently started to play ToH once again.

For my game with Lethos, at 21st level he had exp. Dark w/ Master of Pain and Master of Mind. Expert Destructive with Ignite and Expert Sorc with Arcane Excellence.
I got lucky with perks and was getting irritated by not being offered Enlightenment.
As for skills I'm dumping I'm finding the first skill I'm dumping these days for Dungeon is Logistics. I guess until I get punished for not having it I'll keep doing it.
As for Kythra, don't drop Sorc. Enlightenment, Leadership, Destro, and Sorc are your friends. Some might argue for Attack/Power of to boost the empathy. That might be a good tact. Sorc's perks are crucial for you to be able to continuously cast your spells.

I don't usually take perks from sorcery. For magic Kythra i take destruction, enlightenment, leadership (for empathy), sorcery, logistics (for swift mind), but you need very good path at level-ups or a memory mentor. For might Kythra i take destruction, attack, leadership (trying to get retribution), enlightenment and logistics for swift mind or something else, like warmachines, or luck.
With Lethos i try to get as fast as possible expert dark, enlightenment and sorcery.
