I don't know, never had any issues with that campaign. Markal's special tends to make things too easy.

I can't pick the key in the 1st map. I killed the 2 stacks of dragons, and the objectives are still not complete

Because you have to forge them together.
The forge looks like an elemental conflux and if I remember well, is accessible through a portal somewhere around the second necro town.
Oh well, and you will need maybe 15 Ore or some like that.
