How many succubi are there?  Mass confusion an option? (ie no more ranged attacks).  Frenzy?  PM??  Just curious.

You can't fight them. They raise a firewall barrier everytime you try to attack them.

C1M4 seems to be buggy for some people.
This is the sequence of events when I played it:

1. Arantir meets the Champion (name is Erik?) stack in front of the first garrison. Underground passage entrance revealed.
2. Destroys the Inferno castle. Objective completed. (I didn't really use the underground route, just ride over the garrison and everything with the heroes)
3. Destroys the Portal underground, entrance is NE of the castle. Objective completed.
4. Defeat the blue player (Orc leader). Objective completed, mission accomplished.

Maybe your problem is you defeated the blue player BEFORE destroying the portal. Do you have an earlier save to test it out?

Ok, sorry to ask but I seem to need assistance yet again.  *sighs*.  I found the assassins, but no ghost that asks for revenge.  Filled out the map completely.  Probably someplace hard to find, or easily overlooked.  Found the purple tent, but no purple border guard.  If there is an underground, I am not seeing the entrance.  Still need to collect a big army, but I want to at least be aware of what to do next before I start collecting for the final push.  Of course the entire map I can see is clear at like month 3, but from what I hear the last army is a killer and will need several months worth of army.  Any clues, hints, suggestions?  (Besides "Open your eyes you twit!") hehe.

The ghost is on the other side of the bridge to the northeast but your last suggestion works too I think the portal to the assassins is close to the bridge, just cross it and it should appear.

sounds like the game froze trying to load the cutscene right after you go through the portal.
You'll just have to load the last save and try again.

There are some decent walkthroughs already up at Celestialheavens.com for some of this campain if anybody is interested.  Personally I found that if you get expert summoning with the guy that can summon the avatar of death it's pretty much GG with this campain.  Summon the pheonix, summon the avatar and your force is just too overwhelming.  Also on the map that you find out the secret to summoning the alt upgrades whatever arties you give him seem to carry over.  So every mission I started with the full necro set up, and I think the staff/ring of sar-issar (or whoever that mage is hehe).

That's a common element in TotE. Pretty much all artifacts belonging to any of the sets carry over between missions if they are held by a main character. The only exception are the Vestments of Enlightment in the first 2 campaigns (not counting the orc prelude).

I am having trouble on the first scenario of the campaign. I can't amass enough troops. I have found the military post east of the second necro town. but i just an unable to win any battles with red. i didn't attack them, they came after me. Does anyone know the location of any more dwellings. (i may just be unlucky... one battle their 4 wights rolled luck and killed about 20 vamps.) I have scoured the southern areas of the map and didn't explore north western corner very much?

don't look for more dwellings take them out as soon as you can before he gets strong thats what i did and it worked

The necropolis campaign severely punished me for going with hard difficulty instead of heroic. I almost took no casualties for the whole campaign. That is why (IMO) the stronghold campaign that comes next is frustrating because you have to accept you just lost 20 centaurs here 40 goblins there etc.

Aiight Orlando IS a monster but nobody prevents you from creating your own pet

My Arantir, he had Howl of Terror also of course. If you have problems with last battle just... use Phoenix and Avatar, really helpful
It's good to frenzy or puppet Horned Leapers, real firepower. You have to get good shooters also to bring down this freaking quartiple lucky flaming ballista... My zealots did it in two shots, but before it killed about 20 seraphs and 60 Liches.
My favourite was casting Divine Vengeance with Seraphs, even twice and with redoubled spellpower due to Sar-Issus >mad laugh<
Raise them with Liches for more spellpower if they die.

You could puppet/frenzy one of his units to kill the ballista. Btw we have almost same skills with me taking defense except logistics But I had fire warriors, intelligence->graduate/wizard's reward and I think arcane excellence as the last perk.
