You wander around town some more, but find no other clues to the note you found in the Gym; it seems you’ll just have to puzzle it out with what you already have. You do however find most of the town’s population: their bones lie in the pond in the southeast corner of the settlement, currently being picked at by the Murkrow flock you startled earlier. They’ve been dead for some time; weeks if not months.

Stacey:
You make your way up to the second floor; this one is just as active as the first, but with living people rather than ghosts. Most of these are Starlight Squad members. Scattered across the floor with lanterns, flashlights and the occasional light-generating Pokemon, they trade comments in tones that range from quietly excited to outright cheerful: the whole thing has more of the feel of a group of friends out to spend the night camping than a serious enterprise.
“Stacey!”
One figure waves to grab your attention; it’s Mina.

“Not bad,” Mina responds. “I got some Chesto Berries earlier and Houndour evolved. What have you been up to? Getting ready for the attack tomorrow?”

Mina arrived back in Ternai ((about 3 PM)) after profuse thanks and more apologies to the Starlight Squad member who’d taken her out. Her first order of business was to get Magikarp and her other Pokemon healed, but that didn’t take long. She remembered her Berries about halfway through and took off to water them afterwards; both patches in the ruins seemed to be doing well, as were the set planted in the patch Brona had found.
By then she realized she was starting to run out of energy and took some time to have lunch, feed her Pokemon, and rest a little before going off to the Mart to stock up on Potions again.
I get enough Berries and I’ll never have to buy these again! Mina declared mentally. She was exaggerating of course, but she was still looking forward to having a decent stock of them. ((+3 Potions, 5,574 – 900 = 4,674 PD remaining))
She went to check on the Berries again after that; some of them had looked close to sprouting when she’d last watered them, and sure enough there were tiny new plants poking out of the dirt in three of the spots:
It wasn’t until after she’d gotten the lot watered again that she realized she had nothing to do with the rest of her day. She’d had the notion of checking out the Tower after dark to look for interesting Ghost types, but that was a few hours off yet. She planned to take on Pellana before they set off for Keida, but that was for tomorrow morning if possible: she had major training to do first. (And she wanted to put off an encounter with that Pokemon as long as possible...)
At about 4:30 PM she got a quick text from Brona and responded in kind, but was distracted sufficiently to keep from turning it into a full conversation. Afterwards she realized she’d forgotten about the Bandra message from the night before:; she’d have to get a copy to him.
Eventually Mina settled on training Houndour for a few hours. That continued until he started to glow about 6:30PM:

She congratulated him heartily; he didn’t seem as enthusiastically energetic as before his evolution but accepted the praise happily enough. At that point Mina decided a break was in order and went to water her Berries again—then rest herself and her Pokemon to make up for the sleep she was going to be skipping.
Mina also made a mental note that the purpleish plant seemed to be a faster growing variety:
On awakening from her nap, Mina wandered into the lobby to find a trio of Starlight Squad members excitedly questioning one of the locals.
“…mostly you get Misdreavus and Duskull—“
“Any Gastly? Or—”
“…about once a week we get some Drifloon, but after that storm…”
“And how about…”
“…I don’t know, but my younger brother swears he saw a Kindergeist the other night.”
Mina had just about given up her eavesdropping as useless, telling herself she’d find out what all these wonderful Pokemon were soon enough, when another snippet caught her attention.
“There used to be a Wajjet that nested…” the conversation became briefly unintelligible “…until what’s-his-face took over. She was pretty stubborn though...”
“Really? A Spectral type could be really useful with the rift so close…”
Mina cleared her throat to get their attention, feeling self-conscious. “You guys I are heading over to the Tower I take it?”
The four broke off to look in her direction and Mina got the impression they hadn’t even noticed she was there, having been so immersed in their own conversation that they blocked out the rest of the world.
“Yeah, later tonight, why?”
“Mind if I tag along?”
”Not at all! The more the merrier! We’re meeting up here with some others around 11:30 before we go. See you there?”
Mina nodded, thanked them and left the Center. She had time for some training, one more round of Berry watering and a quick Pokemon switch ((Magikarp for W and Sandshrew for Oodramer)) before meeting up with the Starlight Squad members heading to the tower.

She was pleased to see the Chesto Berries had produced fruit, and more quickly than she’d expected. She was less pleased to see its companion plant still hadn’t done the same, mentally muttering that whatever it was it couldn’t possibly be useful enough to justify such a long growth period. ((Allow the DM a moment to stop laughing here.  ))
((Roll = 30 -> 6 Berries))
Nevertheless, she left it be for now and harvested the Chesto Berries. Doing some quick mental math, she realized she could turn right around and plant another one and probably get a second crop before they left for Keida. Cheered by the thought, she did so, though she used up her last Boost Mulch in the process. Dumping some more water on the plant, she headed back to the Center. ((-1 Boost Mulch, +6 Chesto Berries, -1 Chesto Berry (Planted Day 10, 11PM))
As the Starlight Squad got themselves in order, Mina slipped into the overnighting rooms to check on Brona. He was asleep, so rather than wake him she just left a spare copy of the Bandra report on top of his pack.
((Later, after meeting up with the SLS at the Center…))
The first leg of the tower exploration proved interesting, but not for Mina. The gaggle of people wasn’t making any organized attempt to stay together, and a splinter group encountered a Gastly and a pair of Pokemon the Pokedex identified as Duskull at the base of the stairs. There was a…strange…painting of what Mina recognized as the Spectral Dimension in the farthest reaches of the ground floor, but no Pokemon interested in battling her.
She’d made her way up to the second floor when she spotted Stacey. Mina waved to catch the other girl’s attention.
“Stacey!”

When Brona woke he rubbed his eyes wearily, yawning. He hadn't slept well, it had been uneasy and he had woken up several times. Brona shook his head as he sat up, wondering why something was bothering him, then he noticed the note left by Mina. He skimmed through it quickly, then when he realized it was important he went out into the pokemon center to read it in better light. He was early for the meeting, but that suited him well.

You spend the morning catching up with your friends in the Starlight Squad; as it advances towards noon, they slowly begin to accumulate and some of your friends from the Shrine of Light rescue trickle in as well.
“Brona!” Mina makes her way over to you. “The Berries you planted for me finished growing, so here!” Mina fishes a few out of her pack and hands them to you. “Thanks again for your help.”

"Congrats on that! Anyway, as for what I've been doing, I battled Pellana earlier. Lost. Caught a Luxio. Could've caught a Misdreavus, but didn't. Plus, I did some training with some of my pokemon. I think that's it, outside of that bad dream that woke me up, and is why I'm here. Can't remember what it was about. I am pretty sure I'm ready for tomorrow, though."
