Mark nodded, smiling cheerfully. "Alright, do you know what kind of food they serve?" He was good with eating basically anything, as long as it was food. Oh, he could also charge his arm more while they waited! "Oh," Mark realized something, "We should probably go to the Pokemon Center anyway after dinner to feed the guys that we've been training."

Stacey holds back for a bit, using a building for cover. She takes her pokedex out, attempting to scan the pokemon with it, from around the corner. She doubts the dex will actually have any worthwhile information for her, since she doubts it has any information at all, but she wants to make sure. It takes one try to get the big one, but a couple shots to get a small one, as they are moving around. She is sure they are of the sort that Mina has one of. Like her Oodramer; spectral.

She was also sure they weren’t here for anything good. What she wasn’t sure about was why they needed the humans, though could guess with the name Leech Lord being mentioned. She was also unsure how they got here. Sure, there was the rift, but she wondered how they were able to create it.

Stacey told Mona to watch for any of those puffy-mop wielding pokemon that may attempt to flank them, and then steps out to confront the apparent leader. The pokemon seemed smaller from afar, but she was determined to continue forward anyway.

“So, who is this Leech Lord, and why has he sent you all to collect all these people?”

"Geodude with Magnitude work?"

Christian gritted his teeth "Yes it would work, but it has to be a geodude that's not mine." Christian said "You see, here is my idea; A "wild" and "dangerous" pokémon attacks the group, creating so much chaos and noise that they get distracted. Thus we can drive off in peace and quiet without anyone noticing." Christian almost bit his tongue when he realized another tactic "Anyone got supersonic, screech or any other big noise moves? If we can cover the noise of the jeep we might be able to do a quick get-away."

Mark and Mina:

"Alright, do you know what kind of food they serve?"

"I have no idea, so I guess it'll be a surprise," Mina replied, cheerful for once despite her lack of knowledge.

"We should probably go to the Pokemon Center anyway after dinner to feed the guys that we've been training."

"Actually, let's do that first. They've been doing most of the work, they're probably starved."

----------------

Stacey:

As expected, the Pokedex yields little information. The big one doesn't even have a species name listed, though a few similar, smaller Pokemon doing its bidding—probably part of the same evolutionary line, though the Pokedex doesn't have an evolution for the smaller ones listed—the 'dex identifies as Billigruff. The rest are quadrupedal, faintly deformed looking and liberally covered with spikes—the 'dex calls these Serranix. ((And the Serranix don't have mops BTW.))

It does confirm that neither the leader nor the smaller bipeds are Shadowed, strongly suggesting a Spectral type, although the four legged Pokemon are.

“So, who is this Leech Lord, and why has he sent you all to collect all these people?”

The unknown Pokemon stops and stares at you, then sneers, lips curling back over its teeth.

"Why don't you join them and find out, human?"

The goat-minotaur gestures and three of the Serranix rush at you.

Serranix 1: 65/65 (Shadowed: 96%)
Serranix 2: 60/60 (Shadowed: 96%)
Serranix 3: 71/71 (Shadowed: 96%)

----------------

Christian:

"I got a Mankey with Screech, New Kid," Rob replies. "What do I tell it to do?"

Mark changed course yet again, aiming for the pokemon center now. He began walking quickly when he realized that Mina might not be the fastest walker in the world, what with her injuries and all. So he slowed down, waiting for the female trainer to catch up before he walked together with her, about two feet away. Mark stuck his hands in his pockets and began whistling the tune, "The Jigglypuff that Sang an Opera." The song had verses that mentioned glass shattering, houndoors yelping and baying, people trying to (comically) shut the pink sack of gas up and ironically made sure to point out that no one fell asleep throughout the entire thing. Of course, Mark having the memory of a puppy surrounded by squirrels when it came to lyrics, didn't know any of the words or even what the song was about, but he could remember it's light, cheerful tune, and whistled it well enough that it would be recognizable to anyone who had heard it before.

Stacey quickly sends out Slugma, Snorlax, and Luxio. She thought about sending Bronzor as well, but decided to wait on that thought.

"Alright! Bite, ember, and body slam! Each a different target!"

Stacey kept Mona on lookout, watching for any possible flanking, especially from the mop-wielders. She didn't like the thought of being taken down by one of those things.

"I'd rather not," she speaks to the goat, "so that's why I asked, instead of offering myself over to you. To add to my previous questions though, who are you?"

Mark and Mina:

Mina wasn't familiar with the song, but was perfectly happy to listen to it en route. By the time they broke out the Pokechow it was starting to get stuck in her head, something of a risky operation with six Pokemon out at once. Fortunately it seemed Natu and Sandshrew were back on speaking terms, at least, though she had to distract Pikachu from wandering off while the slower-to-eat Pokemon finished—her youngest was still only a few weeks old now, evolved or no, and there was a lot in the world she hadn't seen yet.

Mark was whistling, "When the Gallades come marching in" (Basically "When the saints com marching in") as he fed his pokemon. The Tailow stared oddly at Mina's Pidgey as it ate, Sometimes chirping happily to the other bird pokemon. Korphish sat next to Kindergheist, looking at the little ghost oddly as it ate. Lapras nudged his food closer to Oodramer and flopped over to sit next to his partner, and Skarmory walked regally over to Houndur to do the same. Ariados just angsted over in the corner, and Kirlia gladly ate the pokemon food while mark petted the back of her head.

"I? I am Tanik, Captain of the Leech Lord and proud servant of Aidrelas! And you and your Pokemon will feed his armies!"

The Serranix close with your Pokemon as he brags; they have voices like musical saws, a weirdly unearthly song.

Serranix 1 uses Quick Attack!
Snorlax is hit for 7 damage!

Luxio uses Bite!
Serranix 1 is hit for 6 damage!
It's not very effective...
Luxio is hurt by foe's Iron Barbs!
Luxio loses 8 HP!

Serranix 3 uses Backlash! ((Homebrew move, don't bother looking for it.))
Snorlax is hit for 17 damage!
It's super effective!
Snorlax's Shadow Gauge rises 4%!

Serranix 2 uses Snarl! ((Roll = 68, 96, 4))
Luxio is hit for 22 damage!
Luxio's Special Attack falls!
Attack missed!
Slugma is hit for 23 damage!
Slugma's Special Attack falls!

Snorlax uses Body Slam! ((Roll = 34))
Serranix 2 is hit for 72 damage!
Serranix 2 faints!
Snorlax is hurt by foe's Iron Barbs!
Snorlax loses 15 HP!

Slugma uses Ember! ((Roll = 54))
Serranix 3 is hit for 14 damage!

Serranix 1's Shadow Gauge falls 2%!
Serranix 3's Shadow Gauge falls 2%!

Snorlax regains 7 HP due to held Leftovers!
Snorlax's Shadow Gauge falls 2%!

You notice a few other trainers are joining the fray across the beach; not many, as it's still rather early they're mostly sailors from the docks, with an early beach-goer thrown in who happens to have Pokemon on them.

Luxio: 35/65 (Special Attack down 1 level)
Slugma: 37/60 (Special Attack down 1 level)
Snorlax: 95/127 (Shadowed: 2%)

Serranix 1: 59/65 (Shadowed: 94%)

After being bound for what seemed like months () Brona had given up trying to get out from the ropes that bound him. At first he had tried wiggling free, maybe loosen a hand or loosening the ropes. But it had worked the other way around, and the ropes had simply cut deeper into his wrists, scratching through the skin of his wrists. Now every movement sent shooting pain through his hans and forearms, and he wished someone might at least feed him or give him water. Didn't anyone realize he was missing, or were they all taken?

"Okay, here is my idea; One of us exits the jeep with mankey and geodude, sneaks up on the mass of people chasing us. Then, he lets Geodude and Mankey out to magnitude and screech against the folkmass. Then, once we hear the screeches and feel the shakes, we start the jeep and start driving a little, stopping for a moment to wait for the last person to come running back and into the jeep and then we make our escape. By the way, if anyone has a rideable pokémon who runs faster than a human, give that pokémon to the decoy man as well. Any objections to this plan?" Christian looked at the grunts "Also, any volantaires, or do I have to do this myself?"

Mark and Mina:

((Kindergeist is in box storage; ones out are Pidgey, Sandshrew, Pikachu, Oodramer, Houndoom and Natu.))

The Kindergeist sank down into the floor until only the smokey top of its head was visible; after a while it scooted through the tiling and went off to levitate by a trainer nearby, who petted it absently, reading a book.

Mostly, all was well for Mark and Mina's Pokemon, although more than once Mina's Pikachu had to be corralled away from Ariados by either Mina herself or the trainer's Sandshrew, and Houndoom kept sending confused looks the Bug type's way, utterly baffled as to why he wanted to sit in a corner alone. Oodramer would occasionally gargle something at the much larger Water type he'd been partnered with, but mostly just observed. Pidgey cooed back at Taillow conversationally; this lasted until Natu (utilizing his unusually small size and trained speed) decided it would be fun to sneak food from Pidgey's bowl while the Normal bird was distracted. Mina caught him at it, however.

"Natu, stop it," she scolded.

Natu immediately dropped the Pokechow pellet and trilled a protest. Pidgey fluffed himself up, looking indignant. Mina bodily picked the Psychic type up (not hard given he was about the same size as his Great Ball) and stared him in the eyes.

"You don't steal food from the party."

"Nat—"

"No."

Natu broke eye contact after a moment and slicked down his feathers, trilling what Mina took to be an apology.

Mina held him so he was beak-to-beak with her starter. "Now tell Pidgey you're sorry."

"Natuuuu..."

Pidgey's feathers ruffled as he seemed to consider this a moment, and finally nodded and turned back to his food.

But all in all, their first communal meal went well.

----------------

Brona:

No one seems to be coming for you, either friend or foe; whether this is a good thing remains to be seen, as you have no way of getting access to food, water, or other necessary requirements. ((No bathroom breaks IOW.))

But while struggling something hard and metal jabs you in the back: after a moment of feeling around you realize it's a handle, and you're sitting against a desk or something else with drawers. Surely this isn't a normal prison furnishing?

Christian:

"I'll do it New Kid, seeing as it's my Mankey," Rob volunteers.

Stacey:

"Who said anything about food?" Captain Tanik garbles something at the Serranix in Pokespeak and the remaining pair shake themselves and dive back into the fray, coordinating a little better now.

Luxio uses Spark! ((Roll = 51))
Serranix 3 is hit for 33 damage

Serranix 3 uses Snarl! ((Roll = 69, 76, 89))
Luxio is hit for 35 damage! ((Guess I should have used the Quick Attack on something else. ))
Luxio faints!

Slugma's Special Attack falls!
Snorlax is hit for 14 damage!
Snorlax's Special Attack falls!

Serranix 3 is hit for 11 damage!

Serranix 3's Shadow Gauge falls 2%!

Snorlax regains 7 HP due to held Leftovers!
Snorlax's Shadow Gauge falls 2%!

Brona decides to calm down and instead try to go about this in a rational way. Struggling against the restrains surely won't help, so instead maybe he should take a different approach to it. He sat up against the desk, using it to get to his feet, then opened the first drawer to take a look inside, hopefully finding something useful to get out.

Which, wondrously, it did. Maybe there was something to Mark's claims that the permanently angry pokemon liked him? With a grunt, the young man stood up and cheerfully said, "Let's get something to eat!" giving Mina a winning smile.
