Christian was torn for a split second about what to do, but then logic hit him "Unless that rock suddenly sprouts legs, it could not possibly move. The pokémon, however, could!" and with that Christian hurried towards the sound, intent on catching his psychic type.

Stacey calls out her two water pokemon.

"Okay. Goldeen, use your horn attack. Dickson, hit it with supersonic. Tunabu, attack it with your can opener attack."

She wasn't sure the Tunabu would obey her, but figured it wouldn't hurt to try. She was also hoping her companions had some pokemon to assist in the battle with.

Christian:

You follow the calls to a fork in the cavern; the left branch stretches out before you and down while the right curves sharply back the way you came, more or less level except for a fallen length of stone just high enough to trip the unwary. Stalactites and stalagmites strongly reminiscent of teeth decorate the walls here, and a spot of crystal in the wall reflects your helmet light back at you like a single bright eye.

After listening for a moment, you hear the call again, coming from the right.

----------------

Stacey:

Only after you try to order your Pokemon do you remember that you're currently underwater and the commands come out in a mess of bubbles, badly garbled by the diving gear. While both of your teammates have Pokeballs, neither of them calls anything out.

Tentacool uses Acid! ((Roll = 11, 40, 5))
No effect!
Dickson is hit for 13 damage!
It's not very effective...
Goldeen is hit for 33 damage! (())
Goldeen's Special Defense falls!

You find reason to be thankful for the diving gear, as the bits of your skin that are still exposed sting when the attack washes over your ride.

((Obedience Roll = 29))
Goldeen uses Horn Attack!
Tentacool is hit for 8 damage!

((Obedience Roll = 75))
Tunabu uses Flail!
Tentacool is hit for 10 damage!

The Steel type shakes itself madly, trying to dislodge the Poison type and managing to dislodge the three of you.

((Obedience Roll = 18))
Dickson uses Supersonic! ((Roll = 1))
Tentacool is confused!

Goldeen: 1/34 (Special Defense down 1 level)
Dickson: 18/31
Tunabu: 97/97

Tentacool: 51/69 (confused)

Mark had been about to walk off in the direction of the Mart when Nurse Joy made her announcement. He hesitated and said, "I'll run ahead, you check in with her and see what's up." Then he walked off to see if there was any work to be had at the local Mart.

Stacey:

You recall the Pokemon—the Tunabu vanishes out from under the wild Tentacool—and take advantage of the wild Pokemon's confusion to swim back to the boat as fast as you can.

Pulling yourselves aboard, Stef takes the diving gear out of his mouth long enough to gasp, "At least we know there's nothing down there."

((Let me know if you want to do anything before I continue.))

----------------

Brona:

The Nidoran just looks puzzled, and finally shakes his head no.

----------------

Mark:

Mina nods and you head over to the Mart—or what passes for one in this tiny town: a little herb shop with hand-painted signs in the windows and an older woman behind the counter. The interior smells sharp and leafy, with faint undertones of honey.

Pokeball: 200 PD
Honey: 200 PD
Heal Powder: 450 PD
Energy Powder: 500 PD
Energy Root: 800 PD – OUT OF STOCK
Revival Herb: 2000 PD – OUT OF STOCK

"Yes dearie? Can I help you?" The older woman asks.

You ask her if she has any odd jobs she needs done.

"Why yes dearie. I had the nice young lady at the Pokemon Center in Ceris tell me she needed a batch of medicine delivered. You can take it down for me if you like."

----------------

...and Mina:

"When was this?" Mina asked anxiously.

"Not long ago," Nurse Joy assured her.

(Of course, Mina reasoned, she hadn't put her request out that long ago, so it wasn't as if days could have gone by. Still...)

"That's great!" Mina replied, meanwhile thinking furiously. Could Stacey still be at the Pokemon Center...? "Is there any way to call the Tidepath Pokemon Center directly?"

"Sure, I'll get you the number." Nurse Joy went back inside and Mina distractedly followed, meanwhile paging through her Pokedex to the map. Tidepath wasn't that far...although it wasn't really that close either. I wonder why Stacey went out that way. Could it be a trap? Only one way to find out...

Nurse Joy came back with the number; Mina thanked her and grabbed a videophone, dialing as fast as she could bring herself to. After a few rings someone picked up; the screen showed the eerily identical visage of Tidepath Nurse Joy.

"Hello? A trainer named Stacey just checked in, I'm trying to get in touch with her?"

"Oh I'm sorry," said Tidepath Nurse Joy. "She just walked out a minute ago."

"Drat." Mina remarked under her breath.

"Can I take a message?"

"Not really." Realizing that sounded somewhat rude, Mina added, "I mean, I just left her one, but I was kind of hoping to talk to her face to face. Thanks anyway."

Mina took her leave of the conversation as gracefully as she could, which thanks to the awkwardness just prior was not very. She pulled out her Pokedex. She could try calling Stacey directly and risk a Bandra agent who was good at vocal impressions...or she could play phone tag on the videophones all day and hope she came back when Mina could catch her...or she could text Stacey and try to catch up with her in person, and hope and pray it wasn't a trap.

Better talk to Mark when he gets back, Mina decided.

Brona straightens then with a smile he points in a direction that's neither of the places he know there are Bandra troops ((yes, I do not remember the towns .. but I have a very valid reason! I managed to drop a case full of money on my head)). "Alright then." he says. "Off we go, my dear Nidoran!"

Then he adds. "Let's find food!" to make sure it would follow him.

Mark nodded, smiling slightly. "Alright, yeah I can do that. Er..." He pulled out his pokedex and pulled up his map of Helnith (which all tourists would have, of course. ). He held it in between himself and the elder shop keeper, "Where would that be on the map, and is it okay if I bring one of my friends with me?"

Christian:

The floor tilts up after a short walk and you find yourself having to duck occasionally. After a while you hear sliding up ahead; shortly thereafter you come to a ledge with another intersection below you, this one T-shaped. A faint trail of stone chips leads off to the right.

----------------

Mark:

"That's fine dearie. Ceris is this place, right here," the older woman shows it to you on the map.

((Ceris is the little block just north of the water at the bottom, and it's south of where you are now. And for the record, Tidepath is the block on the island.))

You head off north, your new friend trotting at your heels in the hopes of food.

((Encounter Roll = 50))

An hour later you abruptly run out of ground. Fortunately your vision has adjusted to the dark sufficiently to keep you from tumbling to your death; in front of you is a steep cliff face with a stretch of beach at the bottom, and ocean as far as the eye can see beyond that. To your left is more brush and grass of the sort you've been trudging through for the last hour and, to your right is more of the same but eventually ending with mountains on a short peninsula.

After getting the location pointed out to him, Mark thanked the old woman and retrieved the package that he was going to deliver. "I'll be back soon!" The young trainer announced before running to the pokemon center.

"Hey Mina, I got us a job!" Mark said once he spotted his partner, holding the medicine next to his head before he inserted it into his pack. "How are things with Stacey?"

Mark and Mina:

Mina was frowning, although the expression was more thoughtful than anything. "I tried calling her at the Center but they said she just left. I'm trying to decide whether to call her direct or just try back later. I'm almost tempted to just catch up with her in person, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea."

"Well that wasn't exactly part of the plan." Brona murmured. "At least we have a nice view, or what, Nidoran?"

He then trudges off to his right, making sure to keep good distance to the cliffs. Hopefully he would reach a town or a road sometime soon.

"She's in Tidepath. South of here and a little east on this island—here," Mina paged to her 'dex map and showed him. "I had Nurse Joy send out a message to the other Pokemon Centers to keep an eye out for the others so we have at least a little vetting against Bandra."
