Mark and Mina:
"That could work. How about Ceris itself then? That way we each only have to go halfway." And get there first, just in case. Then they could prepare a counter-ambush, and they would be in a friendly city—hopefully with Bandra-hostile trainers nearby willing to help them out if things got sticky. "Maybe get some training in while we wait, or find some battles."
((Sending the text if Mark says yes, to spare Alkar having to wait any longer.))

Mark and Mina:
"Yep, sounds like a plan. Also, maybe we can make some plans based on our team-mate's pokemon while we walk? It could give us something to do."
"Yes, let's do that." Mina meanwhile typed in a brief text message one-handed and sent it off to Stacey.
"Do you remember what other pokemon our team has?"
"Some of them. They might have caught more in the last few days or switched them around."
Though she had been making a point to research the Pokemon of everyone in the group. The effort hadn't paid off spectacularly yet, but it at least let Mina warn the others when they were about to do something stupid like attack the Wispaferyn with Fire attacks (that was, when Mina remembered and the trainer in question listened, anyway).
"But you said something about medicine, I take it we have a job?"

Stacey:
Checking your Pokedex while on the boat, you notice you've received a text message:
Mina sent you a message!
Meet us in Ceris, noon tomorrow.

Mark and Mina (traveling):
((Encounter Roll = 18))
The pair of you set off south, towards Ceris. About an hour's travel down the road, you spot a pair of trainers (obvious by the Pokeballs on their persons and the fact that one has her Pokedex peeking out of a pocket), both female, coming from the opposite direction.
----------------
Mark and Mina (conversation en route):
"I'm not quite sure what we can do with Stacey's Pokemon. A lot of them are Ground-weak, so the Flying types could help there, and I know she has a Gloom I can have Houndoom cover from the Wispaferyn...most of her team is slow and bulky, but right now they aren't bulky ENOUGH to deal with the more experienced Bandra Pokemon we keep running into."
----------------
Stacey:
Stef grabs you a big bag of pretzels and several packets of Pokechow while the Geology Club gradually settle down to chat about their findings for the day so far. The group with the Wailmer is bragging about the Pearl they found, and Simon from the Geology Club is trying to get one of the fellows on the ship to chat with him about Fossil Pokemon.
----------------
Brona:
((Encounter Roll = 63, 58, 22))
The day passes surprisingly without incident; the most you encounter are a handful of Wingull, all too far off to pay you any attention. Unfortunately you also don't find anything in the way of food, and after several hours of walking your Nidoran friend is acting hungry and resentful.
You leave the mountainous peninsula behind you after three hours' travel, and head gradually into less fertile territory. About 5PM you finally make out a town in the distance, though whether or not it's friendly is impossible to tell from here.

((Trainers))
Before encountering them, Mark let out Tailow and Kirlia so that they could get some fresh air and walk/ fly with him and Mina. So it was rather obvious that at least he was a trainer.
Mark nodded politely to them as he walked along the road, forgetting that unspoken rule of eye contact between trainers who just met each other... Dear lord this character is more ditzy than I thought he would be.

"Then we should probably focus on bringing them up, strengthening them one at a time until they can stand toe-to-toe with the pokemon we will be encountering. Both Skarmory and Tailow can cover most of her team just because of their types, but they would be stretched rather thin if they had to protect most of a team... and Houndoom and Skarmory will sort of be preoccupied with the whole 'Bird Cavalry' thing."

Stacey was impressed that someone in the club found something, though it was not the Dive they were looking for. More searching was certainly in order. She continued her meal, and listened to what the others were saying. Geological topics were far from her area of expertise, and she didn't know what to say what such things came her way. By the time the lunch break was over, she was more than ready to get back to the search.

Mark and Mina:
((Trainers: ))
The trainers waved a greeting as they drew closer. "Hi! Are you two Pokemon trainers?"
Mina nodded. (She assumed they were just being polite by asking as she likewise had Pidgey out—not to mention her Pokeballs were plainly visible.)
The leftmost of the pair—wearing a stylish hat, scarf and very expensive-looking shoes—expanded a Pokeball.
"Want to battle?"
Mina turned to Mark and in an undertone asked, "Should we try a double battle, do you think?" Mina hesitated, because their Pokemon only had about a day's worth of experience working together. On the other hand, unless these were Bandra agents in disguise, Mina doubted it would be a life or death fight.
((Conversation: ))

"We can do that, but in the mean time it's not going to be enough just to protect them. We need a way to integrate them into our tactics; we can't be focusing all our effort on keeping them out of trouble. Her Snorlax is her hardest hitter, is there anything we can do to protect her? Maybe boost her attacks? Some of my Pokemon have Sand Attack, and Natu knows Confuse Ray now ((FINALLY!)), but those are easy to counter—all Bandra has to do is recall their Pokemon. I don't think she has anything with Motor Drive or Flash Fire or anything we could use to soak up attacks..."
