“Hang in there Poliwag! Water Gun that one!” Mina shouted, pointing to the latest Geodude to join the fray. “Onix, use Rock Tomb on that other one!”
((In the Tournament…))
Mina watched in frustration as the rock snake fell asleep. No gradual drifting off into the land of dreams this time, either; he crumpled to the ground in a heap.
“Onix!” she yelled. “Onix, wake up!”
((Whew!!! I didn’t realize I was cutting it that close with Sandstorm. No matter, though.  ))

“Just a little longer Poliwag!” Mina called worriedly. “Use Water Gun on him! Onix, protect her! Use Harden!”
((Tournament…))
“ONIX!”
While the Skitty’s attack didn’t seem to have seriously damaged Onix, the slap was loud enough to be heard over the sandstorm—possibly what woke Onix up.
"I expected him to be more hurt by that attack."
“It’ll take more than that to take Onix down.” Mina muttered something under her breath about taking naps before adding, “Permanently anyways.”
The Pokemon in question shook off the blanket of sand that had gathered over his body, dampness gathering around his eyes again from being attacked by the object of his infatuation.
Mina sighed soundlessly. Not that anyone would have heard it anyway.
“Onix, don’t take that from her! Use Rock Tomb!”

"Very good work Geodude. You're showing these guys who are boss." She lavishes much deserved praise on the geodude. Misty turns to the goon that just let out yet another bug type pokemon. "Another? Are you serious?! It has no chance against this geodude. NOW, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY OR I WILL GO THROUGH YOU!" she near shouts.

Your near-shout serves to quicken their retreat. A frustrated Klandon looks at his retreating army as his Mightyena eats a well-placed Leaf Blade from Angerazm.
Mightyena fainted!
Klandon spits as he retreats as well, roaring out to Spencer:
"I'll be back brother! Next time, I will defeat you!"
The Bandra Taskmaster retreats ungraciously with the rest of his forces. The village is safe, at least for now.

First, Misty rushes over to her friend to see if she is ok. "Are you ok? Did they hurt you?" she notices the other person standing there, and puts herself inbetween her friend and them. "I swear, if you had anything to do with putting her in danger.." she lets the threat trail off, silently calling her geodude over. She will reward it's hard work once she is sure her friend is ok.

“Get back here you coward!” Mina shrieked. She took off running after the fleeing grunt only to have her ribs remind her forcefully that Nurse Joy had said to take it easy a few steps later. The distraction was enough to allow Poliwag to block her path, the little water type shaking her head that no, it wasn’t worth it.
“You’re right,” Mina agreed, wheezing. With a weak smile, she added, “You guys were great.”
Then Misty rushed over. "Are you ok? Did they hurt you?"
“M’fine,” Mina replied sincerely, smiling. “Thanks.” Her reply was punctuated by the pained howl of Klandon’s Mightyena.
Belatedly she remembered Spencer and glanced back over her shoulder. “Spencer, are you…?”
"I'll be back brother! Next time, I will defeat you!"
“…take that as a yes.” Mina finished, mentally shrieking at the Bandra grunts for their cowardice as they ran off. She wanted dearly to chase after the goons, but then what to do with them? Mina dismissed them with a shake of her head.
“Misty, I believe you’ve met Spencer…?” she motioned towards the victorious Breeder.

Misty suddenly blushed, her worry had clouded her mind and she hadn't even recognized him. "Oh, yeah..sorry." she relaxes and attends to her geodude, congradulating it on a job well done. After that.."I didn't recognize you for a moment. What is going on?"

Rather than attack, Onix burst into tears. Tracks of sand became glued to his stony cheeks. Skitty seemed so taken aback that her song died in her throat after a few feeble notes.
Mina was torn, unsure whether she should feel pity for the big Rock type or irritation.
“C’mon, Onix…” she said hesitantly, “Use Rock Tomb! You can do it!”

"Don't worry about it. As for what's going on..."
Spencer fills you in on what he has told Mina about Elder Roden.
((Summary: that he and Klandon are brothers, sons of Roden and that Klandon kicked his own father into the Spectral Dimension. Also, he tells you about the Breeding Tutorial, which you and Korejora now have since you're next to Mina.))

Misty listened to the tale with interest. "Well, I guess there is only one thing to do. Find a way to this other dimension, and bring them back. Any suggestions on how we might do that?" she recalls her geodude and makes a note to take it to the pokecenter. It wasn't hurt, but a little tlc from a Nurse Joy can never hurt a pokemon.

Spencer looks at you as he ponders your question. After what seems like an eternity, he finally answers:
"Well, I've been looking into the subject myself and have noticed that the dimensional convergences in the region occur at regular intervals. The next one should be soon, and in this very town.
Spencer then frowns as he adds:
"I don't know how we'll be able to get anything done in that dimension, thanks to the negative energies. If only we knew exactly where Father is, then we could grab him and go. Prolonged exposure of Pokémon to that dimension is not a good thing at all."

“Thank you Spencer,” Mina replied with a smile as she called back Onix and Poliwag. She crooned another congratulations to them before placing the balls back on her belt.
“Anyways, I have to go to the Pokémon Center. You guys want to accompany me?"
“Yes please!” Mina agreed. “My team needs healing really bad.” She didn’t even bring up that she still had a tournament to compete in.
((Tournament))
Mina cheered—and winced as her ribs twinged. She was grinning nonetheless. “Way to go Onix!” she called as her opponent recalled Skitty and sent out a quasi-familiar pink Pokemon.
“Oh, a Chansey,” Mina remarked. She knew a little more about those; they were Normal types, they often worked in Pokemon Centers and they could take an incredible amount of damage. She also thought they knew some healing techniques. This’ll be tough.
“Onix, quick! Rock Tomb!”
