Misty sighed in relief, even if this thing gets a big hit in, her growlith should survive the first round. "Growlithe, way to go! Now lets get rid of that nasty sandstorm. Sunny Day!"

The Ruin Maniac sees your last move and assumes that you are going for the kill ((believable scenario really  )). He orders Nincada to:
"Protect!"
Nincada uses Protect!
A barrier formed around Nincada!
Growlithe uses Sunny Day!
The sandstorm subsided!
The sunlight grew harsh!
However, upon noticing your actual action, he flinches and mumbles something about using the wrong move at the wrong time.

“Good call.” Mina murmured as the Gastly’s Curse took effect. It was clear Misty was being torn up inside by her rental’s pain, but she was holding her own. Mina was glad she’d come to watch; Stacey, last she’d seen, had been fighting a Mr. Mime with a Murkrow—Psychic having a severe disadvantage against Dark, she had figured that would be a short and uninteresting fight. And Misty looked like she could use the support, even unseen.
"Growlithe go! Flame Wheel!"
Ooo, a Fire type…WHOA!
Mina cheered loudly as the Flame Wheel took Sandshrew out of the match. “Way to go, Misty!”

I am a little surprised when the razor leaf comes in and takes down the graveler. Thankful, too, since I was unsure of how well the magnemite was going to be in continuing against it. I look around, and notice Dove and Draloed come in; Dove with the razor leafing bayleef.
“Thanks Dove! And hello Draloed. Am I okay? Aside from having to do my best to ignore all the gloating this guy keeps on spouting out? Well, I could certainly be better. I’m sure these pokemon could be as well. Especially Murkrow. We kind of got a bit outmatched here. Though, with some assistance, I’m sure this Bandra person can be taken down!”
Refocused on the battle.
“Magnemite, supersonic again!”

The girl sighed and picked up her Zigzagoon, who was already going off to find another adventure. She carried it back to the town, and brought it to the Pokémon Centre to make sure it wasn't hurt during the fight. She also called the Zangoose out of its Pokéball (after a quick check around for any Seviper that might be in the Centre) and asked to have her looked at. The two of them, after all, had been in a bit of a rough tussle.

"Growlithe, it's time to finish this. Flame Wheel!" Misty called out. For some reason though she seems not a bit sad. "My quarrel isn't with you, and I am sorry it has come to this. I'm sorry that your pokemon were hurt too."
She was sure that most of the pokemon where here because they wanted to be, but she worried about the ones that were only here because their owners made them be. She looked at her own pokemon carriers and wondered how many where here because they chose to be.

Bandra Breeder Battle (Stacey and Draloed):
“Seviper, Poison Tail on Bayleef again!”
Seviper was wobbling back and forth, as though unsure which way was up. At the Breeder’s command it pulled itself together enough to hiss once and charge its opponent. The long, cruelly bladed tail came swinging down in an arc—
Dove watched wide-eyed. “Bayleef, hun, use—”
But too late. The snake Pokemon’s bladed tail slammed into the Grass type. Bayleef tumbled over the ground and rolled to a stop, not moving.
Seviper is confused!
Seviper used Poison Tail!
It's super effective!
Bayleef takes 59 points of damage!
Bayleef fainted!
Then Skorupi attacked. Finally, Magnemite unleased a blinding Thunder Wave.
Skorupi used Pin Missile!
It’s not very effective...

The little bug takes off across the arena, away from your pursuing Growlithe. Nincada is slower, however, and the Fire type overtakes it. The Bug type is quickly engulfed in flames.
The sun is shining brightly.

Nincada takes 37 points of damage!
A split second later the little bug rolls out of the sun-boosted inferno, ending up on its back and covered in black soot. It’s out cold.
Nincada fainted!
The crowd roars at this skillful turn-around as your victory is officially declared. Your opponent crosses the field to shake your hand; though clearly disappointed he smiles at you.
“You put up a great fight there ma’am. You take good care o’ that Ditto when you get it, alrigh’?”
You get 500 PD for your victory!

Magnemite’s Thunder Wave blasts Munchlax, causing the already slow Normal type to slow even further, so much so that it hardly seems to move. In fact…
Munchlax is fully paralyzed!
Your opponent lets out a cry of frustration. “Don’t just stand there Munchlax! Body Slam! Anything! Come on!”
But his Pokemon just stands there, frozen in place and fizzling occasionally from leftover electrons.

"D'you think it's time I gave you all names?" she asked her Pokémon as she walked out of the Centre. Her Buizel leapt onto her shoulder again and nosed her on the cheek. She giggled and petted it, looking around at the others. They seemed happy enough.
"Okay, time to try out this new text thingamajig," she said as she pulled out the Pokédex. She prompted the text feature and thought for a moment before deciding who to contact.
[Hi, Dove! How's it going?] she sent. Her Buizel stared curiously at the Pokédex, never having seen it used in such a way before.

Misty calls out Geodude. "You did an excellent job in a very tough situation. You deserve a nice long rest." She trades the geodude for the sudowoodo. Then she first looks around for the person who heals pokemon. After her pokemon is healed she calls them all out and dotes on them abit.
After that she looks for her friends, and awaits the next part of the tournament.
