Mark blinked at one thing Mina said, and he asks, "Wait, we hit them hard enough that they gave up the shrine of light?" That wasn't something he'd heard about, and if Bandra had actually pulled out then they must be hurting much more than he'd expected. "Huh, yeah, they are kinda broken up, then. Someone should... bury those bodies..."
Shaking the thoughts out of his head, he says, "Yeah, Bandra is probably going to be rather reluctant to put the helicopters at risk. Our side managed to take out at least one recently, and damaged a few more." He'd wince, remembering how he'd helped take down the one and all the bodies that had been pulled out, but he kept talking. "If they have other vehicles, they'd probably use them to respond to an attack since off-road cars are a lot more plentiful and not as loud or easy to knock out of the sky."
"Still, we should make a real plan for how to proceed. I'm gonna vote that we go to Quibir. We could approach via the sea, a few of us could ride my lapras at the very least, and teleport back to Trainer Hill if things seem to be a bit more dangerous than we had assumed. Potentially getting a flute maker out and also seeing if they have a contest hall that's being used are both useful things we could get done... though we should probably start tomorrow, since it's already getting later in the day. Maybe we could train or find some other trainers to battle against, or even go back to Trainer Hill to run through a set and get some more vitamins hahahahaha-... Uh... Sorry about that. The nurse giving out prizes said the megalomania should go away after three to five days."

"How long would it take to ride a pokemon ALL the way around the island to get to Greshil? Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great idea to do an amphibious assault on a randomly controlled Bandra town. But there's also ALL this area in the north east that's Bandra controlled and if they've got Helicopters, flying pokemon, or their own surfing pokemon, I'd believe they'd find a random group out in the middle of the ocean a bit... suspicious."

“We did take out one of their Taskmasters,” Mina reminded. “And according to Ranger Wain after we brought word of the mountain of Pokémon corpses someone was able to scrounge up some volunteers to make sure Bandra didn’t get it back.” Mina had gathered most of them were trainers who’d had Pokémon - or human friends - go missing who went to identify bodies, or Starlight Squad members who were sick of waiting for their leadership to mend the break.

Mina felt the need to interrupt briefly. “Quibir sounds fine, but what are the people without Teleporters supposed to do if we run into trouble?” Come to that, what are the people with Teleporters supposed to do if we run into trouble? Natu was kind of fragile, and even as a stage three evolution Mina would not want to wager on Mark’s Gardevoir surviving if Bandra concentrated fire on her.

“Minor point: the Flute Maker is already out, I met her up in Rieva. She’s on the lookout for spare Time Flutes if we somehow manage to find a lot of extras.” Mina’s tone of voice implied she didn’t think that was likely.

Mark seemed to be confused about Mina's question about teleporters, since 'Sail could take the entire group with her if they needed to run away, but he considers it a bit more and realizes that she's their only emergency escape option. And Bandra probably knew that by this point. That... was something he'd need to think about.
But something else stuck out to Mark as well, and he'd say, "Oh, if the flute maker is already here then we should ask them about Quibir. Specifically about the terrain so we know if there's a safe place to approach from, if there were places berry farms were growing or could have been set up, and if they left behind anything in their shop." Checking his pokedex, he lets out a startled yelp and adds, "Also, if we wanted to do any of that trainer tower stuff, which we should since we can get vitamins to help make up for the poffin boosts we'll be missing out on, we probably want to go back now! We've got the start of a plan, but should definitely get more information before we finalize it... so I'll try to curb my own enthusiasm and we probably won't be going anywhere tomorrow." The last time they'd just flown off the handle had been a train wreck that Mark didn't want to repeat, creepy psychic kid giving him dire warnings or no creepy psychic kid.
On that subject... "Also, Mina, Matt, have either of you figured anything out about those weird things the psychic talked to us about? We rescued Marick, so my part of his prophecies is done, but what about the stuff he brought up to you?" If either of them lead to a turning point as important as what had happened with the Shrine of Light, then they would be worth looking into.

Mark considered that for a second, then said, "If we're going to start making our own poffins... maybe we should vary it up. If you have any that are specifically good for poffin creation, then let's mix in a few of those. Otherwise, things that could increase attack, special attack, speed and hit points would probably be for the best. Starting with special attack, since our teams have a bunch of special attackers that will be super effective against Bandra's most common pokemon."

If you are, he told me, 'The one I'm looking for isn't dead,THEY think he is, but he isn't. I am half right about some one. They should be fine but are being hindered.'" I say and then begin to ponder just what that kid was talking about. Who the heck was I looking for that would be important to some...one...people?...else?? And gosh, with the way my bad luck has gone (at least until excavating recently) I'm not sure if I want to know what I was half right about. I say some... pretty dark things... and oh god if I had something of THAT nature half right....*shudders*

That's not saying it didn't come true, just that I... am absolutely clueless. I have a few other notes but doubt those are useful either. Something about a shadow man with something winking at me. And some trainers talking about some sickness in the mountains and a weird howling near a northern settlement."

“Okay…how long are we taking before we move on Quibir? Some of these take longer than others to grow and I don’t have that many plots.” Maybe at some point she should detour back up to Dewdrop Forest; she knew there were at least a few more patches of good soil in that area…

"At least two days... but let's plan for three for now. Gives us more time to grow berries, farm up vitamins, and train our pokemon." Especially that last one, because raw levels were always important. "We should work on getting Houndoom to ride my Skarmory still, see if we can get them to coordinate on that."
Looking at Matt, Mark would ask, "Why did you come to Helnith? Were you looking for someone, or did you know someone who came here a few years ahead of time?" He's not accusatory, just trying to be helpful. "If you knew anyone who mysteriously disappeared while visiting here, that's probably who the vague prophecy was about."

“Sounds good.” That significantly raised the number of planting possibilities. Mina started digging through her Berry inventory. “I do need to warn I don’t have as many Dry varieties as I do Spicy and Sweet.” More importantly, she didn’t have Dry Berries as potent as she did in Spicy and Sweet.

Mark... wasn't sure which stats those flavors would boost, but he did remember he had an app for that when they were looking into getting some contest stuff done, so he referenced that quickly and rubbed his chin. "Hmmm... Alright, then we should probably focus Sweet over the other two, simply so we can make sure at least one particular stat that pretty much all of our pokemon will use is as maxed out as we can get it. After that, let's prioritize Spicy, and let's see if we can find some more Dry berries for you to use before worrying too much about that particular flavor." While boosting special attack would be wonderful for their multi-attacking pokemon, they still had plenty of physical attackers and speed was just generally useful for everything but his Aron and Lapras. So it wasn't like they would run out of targets for those particular stat boosts.

“Okay. If any of you find any Ganlon or Apicot Berries in the mean time, let me know.” Mina couldn’t grow more of those in time even if someone conjured up one of each right this instant, but she could put in some of the weaker, faster growing Dry varieties to go with them if they found some.

Noting down those berry names, -maybe they'd have them at a contest hall or in the trainer hill prize pool?- Mark nodded and said, "Alright, then we should get back and sign up for a tournament quick." He was going to enter the basic tournament block this time, with Tattersail, Fisher and Marick. See if mixing in the little steel type was able to help him out at all.

I'm also not quite sure if I can join in any training, for you see I over trained a Pyrofyl that may be new to you all. It hatched from an egg I found. Fortunately Mina had just Teleported back, having remembered she forgot to give Matt his Honey. (Natu looked annoyed.) She looked at the proffered Berries.
“I’ve already got a Charti Berry, but I’ll swap you one of the Watmel for something else if you like. You’re welcome to help stir Poffin when we get to that point, but right now mostly I need more places to plant, either patches of decent soil or more Planters. And before I forget, here,” Mina handed him one of the Honey jars. “This is from the older couple with the Vespiquen we rescued. And actually,” Mina pulled out the other jar and handed it to Pinklady “I’ve got a full team of six already, so you can have mine.”

Having Tattersail teleport him back, Mark signed up for the last tournament bracket of the day and let the nurse know that Mina would be coming as well in just a few minutes. He signed up for a basic tournament this time, not feeling like dealing with random weather effects and the gimmick teams they seemed to attract today.

The Normal challenge arena looks just like the Roulette challenge arenas, except that none of the nozzles and other weather-causing paraphernalia activate - though naturally the cameras are still running. Thus you can clearly see the Luxray your opponent sends out to fight.

“I can dig holes anywhere, the problem is the quality of the soil isn’t high enough for the Berries to grow,” Mina corrected. “The easiest way to tell is if there are Berries growing there already, but in general it should be dark and loamy.”
