Quote: I'm sorry but I don't release anymore the Beta.
- Version too old and « prohibited » NCF pack dependent.
Please wait the next version
Only think to do is finish the user manual
I assume this new vesion works only on TOE 3.1, not 3.0?

Is there anywhere to get an updated version of this? From other posts it sounds like its close to being done, but the files here are a year old. My apologies if I'm missing another thread somewhere.

Thats fine, the NFC content looks cool, and this looks like a great way to introduce it into the game. Am I correct in assuming that in normal random maps that the new creatures won't appear?

Yes you're correct.
NCF can just appear in RTMG maps.
and RTMG maps have the same beauty than normal ones.

made RTG of my own
I got tired of waiting, so i made random template generator of my own.
It probably has different features, but it allows lots of user-customisation- it is MS Excel file.
Took 5 days total (programming in Visual Basic for Applications and making data table).
It is very customizable, allowing you to group buildings together for zoneTemplates the way you like. It already works, and me and my friends are playing with it, but i can do much more,
so i will release it in few days.
This version only makes new templates (those at \data\RMG\Templates),
but with extended version in the future, there are other files i would like to change (like \RMG\Params\default.xdb and \GameMechanics\RefTables\RMGPresetTable.xdb)
Anybody has any information about those or can point me to it?
I also have to find a place to host files... any suggestions?
I have also made artifact mod and city mod (complete overhoul), so i will upload and describe those too.

My RMTG
My own RMTG is ready and first version is released:
Korogs Random Map Template Generator
I wanted to make it poweful tool with moddable data, so the file is
MS Excel one, with Visual Basic for Applications scripting support. So it will not work in OpenOffice.
You also have to enable macros (coded buttons) in Excel, so here
is how you can do that in Office2007.
Go to that flashy button menu in Excel that lets you open, save, print etc. files.
There you will notice excel options button.
From there you go to Trust Center.
From there you go to Trust Center Settings.
From there you go to Macro Settings.
And you set Enable all Macros option.
Then you reopen the generator file.

This is a nice tool and i have used it too. But its just an editor,
not a generator. You get the same result using the notepad and editing
the template file.
I have used the same editor myself too. But I always knew what was on the map.
I always knew what kind of dwellings and mines our starting positions have. There was no element of luck and having that "Wow, I have 2 lev6 dwellings, I wonder what my opponents have this time. Or how many zones are between me and my opponent? Should i go north to that desert zone or east to that barren. I wonder whats in them."
So my generator can add random element of luck to map. It is fully
customizable, so you will decide what is added randomly and in what amounts. Then you push the generate button and the whole map template file will be made for you. If you do not look into the file, you can play it not knowing what to expect.
Ofcourse, it is highly customizable, so if you want mirrored starting zones, but like to randomize neighboring zones, you can do that as well.
Did that answer your question?

Hi Everybody,
To avoid all confusions between my project and these of others guys.
I decided to provide the RTMG User Manual (PDF) to informs members about
my RTMG for TotE 3.1 project which will be released soon.
http://www.speedyshare.com/280697405.html
By the reading of the manual, I hope Everybody will understand all what RTMG will be able.
And I appreciate the members's patience about my project and I assure that RTMG will happen in some time.
The RTMG project is well-living and that is a work-in-progress program
-------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S.
Korog,
I'm happy you work too to remain more interesting the RMG maps's gameplay but if you wish to be competitive
your tool should do, at least, what my RTMG does.
meanwhile, I'd appreciate you make your own thread about your own tool by respecting my BIG work
and by stopping to speak about another subject than these of this thread.
Thanks a lot!
