As far as I know ARMG cannot mess with NCF.
Anyway I checked the map. No new creatures were around (1 turn with 6 factions on the map, game was opened with default MMH55_65.exe).
Then I mixed it with Mapmixer and opened the map with MMH55_NCF_64.exe and NCF creatures were there.
After that opened MMH55_Utility_64.exe and generated Huge map with underground and water without a problem.

NCF utility always crashed.
Should I assume you added it in order to be used for NCF + LAN + (old)AI games? Ofcourse this is in case where NCF works for LAN which I still have not tested.

To anyone interested in the Creature power formula it goes like this.
Root(((1 + 1/30) ^ Attack)* ((min_d + max_d)/2) * ((1 + 1/30) ^ Defense) *HitPoints * Root(speed) * (0.2 + Initiative * 0.08) ) + modifiers_based_on_creature_abilities(weak,medium,strong ability)

Tutorial for NCF for Might and Magic 5.5 mod on moddb is incomplete for me
After point 4. (or 5.) "Download NCF_megapack, extract it and put it in <game folder>data" I propose add: Download NCFMegaPackInstaller, extract it, select language (available: English and French) and install.
NCFMegaPackInstaller contains not only translation (names of creatures and creatures info) but also all creatures icons for mapeditor.

BTW in English translation there are several Russian texts and vice versa.
I have made a Polish translation of NCF_megapack, but I have a problem with creatures names under icons in the map editor (they are in English or French depending on the choice of language).
After installing NCFMegaPackInstaller we get in the folder GameFolder-Editor-IconCache-AdvMapObjectLink-MapObjects-(AdvMapObjectLink)-Monsters-NCF files (for example creature_180, creature_181 ...) which contain creature names. Probably files can only be edited properly by HexEditor.
I'm not very good at it, so far I have done some translations in HexEditor using English and French files, because I do not know how to add space to non fit letters. Excess space is replaced by spaces.
PS. On Psatkha site: http://psatkha.narod.ru/ncf_psatkha.html I found 43 creatures that are not in MegaPack. When I added them, a short test showed that the new creatures were working properly, but other bugs showed up. Crosbowman and Marksman have returned to their abilities with Heroes V ToE, which completely confused me (I tested this on Heroes 5.5 mod). I do not know what I did wrong.
I'll try another time again.

Hello,
I seem to have an issue with the NCF mod. The creatures added by the MegaPack don't appear on the map editor, in both TotE and 5.5.
I've followed all the instructions from moddb. Do you know where the issue could come from please ?

Thank you Mario! I did test the installer and it indeed added creatures to the NCF_Editor. I will edit the guide.
Though I wonder what exactly does this installer do. Does it carry additional information for the already existing creatures OR when installed looks for them and pregenerates it.
What I mean is what will happen if new creatures are added to the pool of NCF?
P.S. Alright alright I found what it does.
Just places some predefined texts. What I am going to do is scramble all files and installers into 1 package which will simplify installation steps significantly.

I think that is add icons, names and info only for NCF MegaPack Creatures. I install French and English version in folders on my desktop. After installation each folder include text.pak and files for Editor (for all Creatures from NCF MegaPack).
Probably is better way to add icons to NCF Editor.
When I put folder "Complete" (with icons) in main game's folder then icons appear in Editor. Folder Complete is include in each creature's archive on psatkha' Internet
site.

Okay thanks Mario.
I tried to look what the installer does exactly by launching it on an empty directory, and it seems to add two .pak files to the data directory (English texts and necromancy), as well as files to the Editor/IconCache directory. Nothing more that I see.
It doesn't work for me though. Even after using the installer, the new units don't appear in the editor.

Nope, on the NCF for 5.5 moddb page there seems to be no editor .exe, only game ones. I thought it meant the 5.5 editor already enabled the use of NCF.
Besides, I also tried the MegaPack installer with TotE, which has a NCF editor. It didn't work either : can't see the NCF creatures in the editor.

If I good remember MH55_Editor_NCF.exe you can download from:

Unpack and copy MH55_Editor_NCF.exe to bin folder.
Dredknight probably forgot about this file in his tutorial.

Complete folder works only with all files from any creature archive. When I add other Creatures from Psatkha's Site to MegaPack (and add folder Complete to main game folder) then icons appear in Editor.
MegaPack include about 30 Creatures from Psatkha's Site but if you put only folder Complete with these Creatures icons new icons will not appear in Editor. MegaPack not contains full version of Psatkha's creatures. When I add missing files icons appear but
Marksman and Crossbowman have returned to their abilities from ToE (and who knows what else).
In another location on a disc Editor storing copy all icons (don't remember now where) and after any changes in icons in game folder you must delete this additional folder (in another location). Otherwise changes in icons in Editor can't take place.

Dredknight probably rewrite his manual soon.
In my case everything working correctly. I don't know why this not working on your computer. Maybe delete all NCF files and try one more time tomorrow.
Even without NFCMegaPack installer in Editor you should see new Creatures (but without icons).

NCF moddb tutorials updated!
MMH55_NCF_editor is indeed missing in the RC9_NCF_executables but this folder is administrated by Magno so I cant do any changes. I will ask him to do it or share authority over it so I can do it.

I am personally most interested in the NCF adaptation to Heroes 5.5 mod (for example need to change amount of mana creatures - other cost of spells).
With an amazing tool (mapmixer) made by Cichy NCF gives new possibilities.
Oh.. I just saw this comment. I dont know how I did miss it but just found out about Skull of Shadows and creatures textures are amazing!!!
I will see what I can do about them.
