I agree. I have no chance when they go and stun permanent, then do a poison which reduces movement speed by 75% or something -.-

But then, I dont PvP much.

Why does HC hate WoW/MMOs?
Well now to answer your first question, as you can see I don't hate MMOs at all since I started playing Runes of Magic. The most important thing obviously, is that it has no monthly fees. There are other things that keep me away from some MMOs (like there are things that keep me away from some games as well - not all of them appeal to me, I don't like some of the game worlds, etc) but the monthly fee is by far the biggest obstacle.

Yes, people dont like monthly fees but there are still lots of other bias against the large MMOs/games overall such as WoW.

I hate MMOs because they have stupid systems and turn gamers into "snows" (no, not literally ) at grinding and stuff and "points" (whatever that is, could be level, experience, items, etc.. depending on MMO we're talking about). Like playing Counter-strike BUT with your scores not resetting and having some sort of reward for it.

Don't tell me it's not my business, I just said why I hate it.

However if you play WH you'll probably pay a humongous amount of money on "plastic toys" (as my parents call my little Assault On Black Reach box), paints and small, over-priced books....

However it's atleast controllable......

And I think that's the thing which makes them so attractive. And that you can interact with other players, of course.

I mean, isn't Nation States only about that? To get some 'points' (change different variables). And you seem to like it Sure you can argue that NS doesn't take a long amount of time but then your argument is still invalid, you could just say that you don't like playing games so much time (since MMOs require a lot of time, like playing a very long Singeplayer game)

Yeah, just like drugs, their feeling (i.e getting 'high') makes them attractive. But that's where the problem is, in fact.
As for the other argument when you don't hunt for points: for me, interacting with other players just for the sake of playing "reality" in a game (not just the game itself) is like trying to escape reality for some reason. Yes reality sucks, but unfortunately you are not in a Matrix, so you still have a real life.

Plus they are not dramatic at all. Story usually lacks (because it has to be 'customizable), which falls short soon because of grinding, etc...

No, it's about developing your nation. It isn't even competitive (neither with the "environment" nor the other "players"). It's also a very simplistic (and downright funny) simulation.

And how is that different than MMOs where it's about developing your character?

And NS 2 could be considered competitive as well, let's say based on the GDP. Of course you may not care about GDP but it's the same then about not caring to have a strong character. Well, at least in PvE you're not really in trouble if you don't have an uber character since you can just fight monsters for your level.

Because you develop your character for something, i.e you USE that (obviously either for being tough or for competition/fighting others). Not so in NS1 (by the way, don't start with NS2 ).

Ok sorry then.

But still define MMO then. And no, don't start with the definition of a MMORPG, since there are some MMORTS games out there, maybe even MMOFPS, and also many browser-based MMOs.

Its ridiculous. All online games call them MMOs these days even though there arent a lot of people playing them.

In my opinion, a MMO should have atleast 5 million active subscribers.
