Emerald version Battle Frontier. Any movesets/strategies you all would recommend? I figure I better go finish the thing before Gen VI comes out.

Yeah, that's part of my problem too. I'm not much good at it, it's tedious, and the Special/Physical split within types hasn't happened yet, which messes me up when choosing attacks.

I haven't played emerald, but there's one thing that seems to be a rather universal rule. Computers are stupid, even those that learn from mistakes. So if you just make a decent team, you'll probably quickly know when to do the different stuff to win.

Unfortunately the computer also cheats, which frequently nullifies the stupidity. Especially since it only has to get through my team once to send me back to the beginning. There's also a LOT of time involved in EV training in Emerald (no Power items, and I don't have Pokerus in that version), so I'd like to get some outside oppinions before I start training more.

Well can't you go for something that seems overpowered, like ninjask with focus sash, protect, agility, b-pass and sword dance together with a marrowalk with boonerang, rock slide (or some other physical move that has higher likelyness to hit and is super effective against flying types) and a focus sash?
Edit: Are you certain EV training is even necessary? I often beat the pokemon crystal battle power with pokemons with by far sub par stats.

No Focus Sash in Emerald. I ran into that problem with my Sheer Cold-Spore-Lock On Smeargle. There is the Focus BAND, but that's not as consistent. I'm also limited to Emerald-only Pokemon, which means no Gengar. Played with a Swords Dance Ninjask in the Battle Factory though, and it was nice. I might train one to go with my Metagross. Considering Salamence, but that double weakness to Ice = pain, and there are no type-protection Berries either.

I've tried without, and it does seem to make a difference. Can't say how BIG a difference, because I haven't researched it throughly, but it does seem to help.

Is sleep limited to 3 rounds btw.? Otherwise it might be worthwile to put up something like a crobat with hypnosis and whirlwind, just to get rid of every berry (or what they use in Emerald) so the opponents won't wake up and give you a little advantage in every part of the battle. If you can lay spikes, stealth rocks, etc. then that's of course for a larger advantage.
Eventhough the computer cheats have you checked out if it doesn't follow a very obvious behaviour? The first time around I defeated the crystal battle tower, it was with a hitmonlee, T-tar and aerodactyl, the hitmonlee, and that worked very well despite the major ground and water weakness. Only a kingdra would stop me, and that was because it'd use toxic for one round, making endure useless. Hitmonlee would use endure + reversal. A 300 bp reversal (+50% from type) with hitmonlee's attack power could take care of a lot and further more, the computer could never predict it, it always went for the same type of stuff. Which leads to another huge mistake by the computer, it never changed its pokemon. Basicly despite only having 3 pokemons available, you could send out Jolteon with agility + B-pass. Unless the first encounter could one-hit said Jolteon, you could agility + b-pass to something like Snorlax, should the encounter have a strong special attack. Then Snorlax could simply belly drum and sweep, only because the computer would never switch out, use roar/whirlwind or similar.
Another suggest I can think of is an umbreon with double team, substitute, baton pass and rest. Then you can get a 6 time evasion + sub. If you also have agility up and a healing move + sub on another pokemon, then you can basicly keep on subbing until they miss, heal up and attack.
That works well in crystal, especially because roar and whirlwind are affected by double team, but I don't know how often you meet 100% to hit moves or how roar and whirlwind works in Emerald.
Edit: There's also the possible rather easy solution and use legendaries, over-powered types and most of all wobbuffet.
Also for level 10 battles, dragon rage is often an easy win!

On a side note - now I know how to access the dream pals - at last ! So the issue is in settings. The game filters your trade pals by default setting to block everyone (even the friend code ppl) from interacting with you in any way. So you just have to change the settings on pokemon com It will make gaining dream point neat now

Neat little thing about Black: the nurses know when your birthday is.
Edit:
One good thing about being without internet so long: I got four more Battle Frontier symbols in Emerald. Still need Spencer's, then I get to work on the Gold symbols.
EDIT:
WOOOOOT I HAVE FULL TIME WIRELESS ACCESS FOR MY DS!!!
Edit:
Spooky Manor available in the Dream World. Blasted thing keeps failing to show up until all the Pokemon vanish.

Interesting little tidbit on Pokebeach:
Quote: Junichi Masuda must want Internet attention this week - he just updated the Gamefreak blog with some surprising background information about N. He finally revealed that N's full name is "Natural Harmonia Gropius." Yes, N's first name is actually Natural. And yes, laughably, his last name is Gropius (I see two similarities there, one Pokemon-related [Tropius], and one not XD.) On a serious note, and Masuda did not say this, but "Natural" is English, "Harmonia" is Latin, and "Gropius" is German, meaning N's name comes from three different languages (and he's German?). Masuda stated that the abbreviation "N" actually comes from "natural number" since N is highly intelligent in math - he is even called a "magician of mathematics," which isn't surprising considering his character design shows him wearing a Menger sponge.
As for his personality, Masuda says he is bright, emotional, has a high IQ, stands aloof from the world, keeps people at a distance, loves Pokemon, and thinks of himself as a perfect person, much of which is already explored in the games. He is apparently able to see the pasts and futures of people as well. And most surprisingly, people in the Pokemon world say that he was born from Pokemon (his parents are unknown).
I see why they just refer to him as 'N' most times. XD

See it, but still rather amusing.
On a separate note, anyone know how to troubleshoot a GBA link? I'm trying to hook up Emerald with Colosseum on the Gamecube and I'm not sure if my problem is with the GBA or the link cable.
