"That's my boy" ... well, typical american comedy these days. Not really good but it will keep you occupied, maybe give you a couple of laughs.

I wonder what scripters will come with next season, will be hard to get out safe from such abyss they put Derbra in.
It was foreseeable, which is always a shame. They didn't leave any other options open and I'm sad they resorted to this. At least it makes for interesting Debra next season. And interesting Debra means good Debra/Dex conversations and that's really the core of the series.

Just saw Fellowship of the Ring, extended.
It's good, but the first part is way to slow. 4/5.
But I wonder, why did Galadriel give everybody but Boromir a gift?
She explained why Aragorn didn't get one.

The elves are complete douches in LOTR anyway. Why couldn't Galadriel, who's more powerful than the Wizards, replace Gandalf in the Fellowship? The film says she could resist the ring because she passed "the test". Instead she runs off to some random hippie paradise.

The extended version is so much worth it Has some very fitting additions throughout the trilogy and yet I was peeved that Jackson had to cut so much from the first book But I wasn't so much annoyed by this as I was by some changed scenes, why does everything have to be decided in the last moment? Or try to convince us that OMG WE ARE DOOMED / X IS DEAD to 'surprise' us a few moments later? I found that childish, did anyone even fell for those? Perhaps this is the reason why I enjoyed the hobbit a bit more. It knew how to take its time and the additions/changes were for the better, not worse. Of course the lord was more powerful and memorable but that was never to be contested.

There's also a MASSIVE plot hole. When Isildur refused to throw the Ring into Mount Doom, why didn't Elrond just push him down?
Maybe Elrond IS Sauron?

Galadriel was a queen and had her duties, she couldn't leave her people. Not sure I'd call her more powerful than the wizards though.

Plus "passing the test" didn't make her permanently immune to the ring
None of the great figures would dare carry the ring because of what it could do to them. They needed a hobbit to carry it, and even then it was extremely hard on them.

She didn't need to carry it. She could just have protected Frodo.
She could SEE into the future! She could see every single threat they faced and made them avoid it.
I conclude that deus ex machina (eagles, Gandalf returning etc) and seeing-into-the-future things always makes the plot worse, no matter the writer.

That is the kind of scene that just annoys me. Jackson brought them both all the way to the mount Doom because Elrond could not have told him earlier.. Guess that was for added tragic factor or something..
I was similarly annoyed when the elves were shown watching from above when as the dragon destroys Erebor. Did they just happen to pass by the neibourhood? Gimme a break. Or were their armies already prepared and armed to march in case a dragon popped up? But regardless if they did prepare to march and come in aid of Erebor they just go have a look and go from whence they came? Nevermind, that dragon looks too big. We did not actually need to see the elves come there and refuse to help, them not coming would have been sufficient

The eagles woudn't have made things better, Sauron would have noticed a pack of freaking huge eagles flying about and sent the nazgul on their tail. My bet would be on the nazgul really.
Galadriel had spent some time reflecting on things and watching. Visions don't just work like that.
And Gandalf returning did not happen just because, it's all explained in the Silmarillion. It's just never explained in the lord trilogy.

Eagles save the day numerous of times in LOTR. And I know Gandalf is helped by some kind of god - that doesn't make it better.
What was the narrative point of having him die and return anyway?
Tolkien was deeply religious so maybe it's a refrence to Jesus?

I wasn't gay when I watched the LOTR films as a kid but now I think Legolas is super cute when he smiles. :3
