Yeah, the soundtrack alone made me like the movie a lot more than I would have without it. It made it be extra creepy and mind-blowing.

Yea, it's got some sweet actors in it too. I have a good feeling it's going to be a worthy remake and not some piece of ***** like the new Total Recall movie. Ugh.

I just watched R.I.P.D. and what an excuse for a movie! It's COMPLETELY a Men In Black rip off with maybe just a little something from the Ghosbusters, except the absurd comedy is unbalanced, all the characters and plot turns are cliches and the monster CGI is awful. I guess we can take this as a sign that Jeff Bridges is getting old and no longer as selective as he used to be just like many great actors before him. This will be one of the movies I delete from archive because when I look at it I feel shameful instead of the people who wrote and produced it.

I need to censor my opinions on movies when out with friends. I usually am quite nagative about SCI-FI movies. I love them the most, but I am extremely critical of them because of that same reason. So after a movie I have to pretend like I saw nothing wrong with it, or at least say "well that could have been better, but it wasn't that bad". It is just that I don't want to ruin their mood when they are feeling so pumped up after seeing something "cool" and all I can just think about are the inconsistensies in it xD

Not exactly dead, it just tends to avoid 99% of the productions.
Talking about sci-fi, has anybody seen the new Riddick? The trailer left me with mixed impressions and I still haven't decided if I should go to the cinema for it.

Just watched Insidious 2.
Some quite nice scares, mostly true to the atmosphere and feel of the previous one. STUPID plottwist though, there are certain elements that directors just shouldn't touch unless they have extremely well thought out explanations for it.
Watch the first one before this one, very neccessary imo.

Just watched La Horde, the French zombie movie, not a bad zombie movie if you like the genre. However, although they realized zombies only drop with headshots everybody kept wasting ammunition, shooting zombies in the body countless times. And I'm talking about very close range shots. That kind of sloopy detail ruins it for me, why tf would people who are supposed to be in survival mode waste dozens of bullets just to shoot recklessly in anger. I really get pissed when people spend whole lotta money on effects and stuff and then **** the movie up with the lamest logical mistakes. It just feels like they are burning cash right in front of me.

Riddick (aka Riddick 3)... we get a 2 minutes long fleshbackie explanation why he's no longer a king and is back stranded on some godforsaken planet... And then we watch the exact same movie like pitch black was... Its just that in this one we get horrible dialogues that are spiced with over the top sexism (coz director felt its necessary to degrade Riddick from clever to primitive)... 3/10 on quality scale, 6/10 on action scale

I've watched Pirates of the Silicon Valley, story of both Apple and Microsoft from early 70's to mid 90's (the movie's from 1999). It was a good movie. The way they edit the story you can see why Steve Jobs focuses so much on taste and accuses Bill Gates of "producing McDonalds." Although I haven't watched it yet, I'm guessing this is much better than the recent overhollywoodized Jobs.

Legolas too... get ready for some more kickass and unibelieveable action scenes
The whole things looks grandiose and it will no doubt be different in tone and even plot from the book I assume but that's not always a bad thing. I can't wait to see more of my favorite parts brought to life with the possibilites of modern technology. I'm also excited to see the spiders.

For anyone that has a family and would like to see a very well done movie. Get the 2005 TV adaptation of the R.L. Stevenson classic "Kidnapped" that stars James Pearson playing the role of Davie Balfour. Excellent.

I think Tauriel dies.
so now I've seen all Star Wars films with my 10yr sister
She liked the prequels better overall, but thought Return of the Jedi was the best because Anakin was redeemed. I agree with the consensus that The Empire Strikes Back is by far the best. Dat Hoth battle scene is just amazing. I also love the start of RotJ, with Jabba's palace, then the rest of the film is ruined by Ewoks defeating Stormtrooper ELITES with sticks and stones. I think the original idea, where the Empire was enslaving wookies on Kashyyk for labour on the Death Star, was much much better.
The Empire Strikes Back - 9 / 10
Revenge of the Sith & Return of the Jedi - 7 / 10
Attack of the Clones & A New Hope - 6 / 10
The Phantom Menace - 4 / 10
The greatest thing about the original trilogy is Leia. I think she is one of the best female characters of all time. I can not believe how Padmé was portrayed ten times worse thirty years later, in a more equal society.
