Chelsea totally threw the title in the last weeks. Loses to Palace and Villa
Either City or Liverpool, and I'll give an edge to Liverpool, they are just on fire.

****ing ManU, every dammned time I predict them to fail in CL they get a good result, it's like I curse their rivals lol
OhforfSake said: double draw. Made me wonder, I don't think we very often predict draws, but what are the distribution of home win/draw/away win when looking at top teams competing, non-top teams competing and all teams competing? Somehow I think we're missing out on not predicting enough draws.
I have to agree with you. I think most of us (so, Vindi, you and I ) usually overstimate the offensive capacities of big teams - specially their consistency in making goals.

Just made me realize that this round, it's Spain (you & Vindicator) vs. Rest of the World (me) and Spain gets two competitors.. I wonder if Spain needs more advantages, like diapers and stuff?

BREAKING NEWS!!
Spanish champions Barcelona have been given a 14-month transfer ban by Fifa for breaking rules on signing international players under 18.
Quote: The Catalan club cannot buy or sell players until the summer of 2015 after the world governing body imposed a transfer ban for the next two windows.
They have also been fined 450,000 Swiss Francs (£305,000).
Fifa has also sanctioned the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for the same breaches.
The RFEF has been given a fine of 500,000 Swiss Francs (£340,000) and told to "regularise [its] regulatory framework and existing system concerning the international transfer of minors in football" within a year

I remember that Chelsea also got a 2 window ban, but it was for only one player (Katuka), and they got away after they paid to the original club.
This time is at least 10 players from what I read.
Of course, Barça can and will appeal, and they should regularize this stuff in time. We'll see.

Aaaand Madrid played a serious game, first time in ages. Not only Pepe shined, Coentrao played very well and Carvajal was sharp too.
Modric and Pepe were the best from Madrid, imo. And lets not forget about Bale either
Dortmund could still come back, but it's a very slim chance, and if Madrid plays properly it simply won't happen. Not even with Lewandosky.

Speaking of gold, yesterday Cristiano, despite not being at 100% and subbed, he scored his 14th goal of the season - right now he shares the all-time record with Messi and other guy. He has scored in all eight matches of CL he played this season, unbelievable

This other guy intrigues me, he must be very famous!
Joke aside, what Messi, and less-Messi (Ronaldo ) manages to do is quite amazing and it made me wonder, if we look at the stars of each generation, have anyone ever come close to their dominance and stats?
I started following football in 98, so my knowledge about stars from before then is rather limited... but from 98 and onwards I can from memory mention Ronaldo (the real one ) [France 98], Zidane [Post France 98], Figo, Henry, Ibrahimovic and Ronaldinho [Barca time in the late mid 00's] as the ones who stood out the most, but I don't think they even come close to Messi and less-Messi?
There may be more players who've stood out, but I can't remember any who were really stars of their generations, names like Beckham, Giggs, Viera, Gerrard, Lampard, Larsson, Laudrup, Shearer, Klinsmann, Effenberg, Ballack, Chilavert, Shevshencko, Battistuta, Crespo, Thuram, Vieri, Makelele, Iniesta, Xavi, Raul, Seedorf, Veron, Cambiasso, Cannavaro, Buffon, Davies and probably MANY MAN MORE, BUT NOT I'M tired OF MENTIONED NAMES... are all best of the world players, but none who in my opinion stood out in the same manner of speaking.
