After 5 games the following can be said:
Porto, Shaktar, Chelsea, Paris, Barcelona, München, all through, more or less as expected. Bilbao didn't offer as much resistance (they defeated Napoli after all and Spanish sides are known for being good) as I'd thought they would.
City is now equal with Roma and CSKA and can determine if they're to go through themselves once again! Which I think is great and hilarious at the same time.
Otherwise Dortmund, R. Madrid and Arsenal are already through, but I guess we all knew that.

Go, go CSKA! Bayern was much better even with 10 players and a penalty against them. And Bayern wasn't playing even seriously. Its pity that they missed the last few minutes. City never deserved the win.

Sorry for starting this discussion and not contributing to it.
I watched Aalborg vs Steaua Bucharest, and was very disappointed by the result. Steaua needed at least a draw, controlled the game but lost 1-0 after one of our defenders slipped and allowed them to score. We had 17 shots on goal and missed some great opportunities.
Now we are in a precarious position. We have to beat Dinamo Kiev at home and hope Aalborg doesn't win in Portugal against Rio Ave - a team who got only 1 point in 5 games. Still, hope dies last.

To be honest, I highly doubt Aalborg will win away in Portugal.

The Golden Ball is going to:
a) Messi
b) CR7 or
c) Neuer
SO... what do you think, who deserves it most? I vote Neuer!

Cristiano. Won CL + Copa del Rey, he broke the all-time goal scoring record on a CL season (14->17), golden foot and a crazy start on la Liga this season (20 Goal 8 assist in 12 games...).
I think Coach's Ballon D'Or is a more difficult choice to make: Simeone, Ancelotti and Löw. All three have accomplished great things for their clubs/country.

Neuer was very impressive and if he won it would be very much deserved but he has the same problem like many other in the previous years of not haveing a multi-millon marketing/merchandiseing engine backing them up. But that's FIFA for you.
So it's probably going to be CR7 this year as well. Messi just didn't produce enough this year.(how he got the best player of the world-cup is still beyond me)
As for the coaches, Löw probably deserves it simply because this WC win was the product of many years of great work.
Ancellotti got a ready built team handed to him which was been put together on the whims of the management and seemingly not on the preference of the coach and it just happened to be a right combination of players this time unlike anytime in the last decade.
Simeone is still an uncertainity. He might be great or just very good but we sill have to find out if he is capable of staying on top after the opposition has been accustomed to their playstyle. (Similarly another very good coach Klopp is findig out the hard way whats it like when bad luck and injuries combined with opponents being better prepared against your playstyle can do to your season.)

UEFA Nations League
Now that the final details are out I think it's time we discuss this as well
So any thoughts...?
Is it cräp, bullcräp or a change long overdue?
I think it is shady and uncomprehensible enough to make it seem like it was made by FIFA which is not a praise. To top it off the top teams will still don't care about any of it but on the other hand the middletable team will be more motivated then ever so we might see some really good maches instead of the borefest that is the current EC/WC qualification.

So more matches between League/Champions/Cup games? Even more injuries disrupting the normal course of clubs? Sounds great
